  1. I think every three levels is right; usually I'm maxed on LS points by the time I hit the Telos Jedi Academy, so I'm not getting the alignment thing that everyone else mentioned. Maybe I'll try saving some levels and see if that affects the crystal when I get the chance to go get it - maybe stop my leveling at the Telos crash scene or something.

Frankly, this is really obnoxious. The crystal is supposed to go up to level 9, and the highest that I keep getting is either 5 or 6. Probably 5; I've never really counted.

And I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the only one who never realized that I could level up the crystal, but I *did* pick that up on my second playthrough, all those many months ago.

  2. Agreed. While the game kinda made sense to me [i always play LS], there were a lot of questions that I wanted answered that never got answered simply because I play LS - the question about her opinion of Revan was the big one that I remember off hand.

Apparently you get all the answers if you play DS, because that's the only way to get substantial influence with her. Which really stinks, because KOTOR wasn't like that.

  3. I'm very interested in this game. Anyone actually own it? If so, how's it run - is it really buggy like some other games that I know of *Cough, Sith Lords cough*? LA has officially turned off the 'trust them to do it right and fix it when it's broken' phase of my life.

  4. Morrowind. 'Nuff said.

I've managed to suck my wife into it too; while she hasn't created a character yet, I'm sure that it's not that far off. She already understands how to fight and moving around [which is pretty good, considering she hates computers.]

We're working on the Main Quest, and I've got another pure warrior type going that is almost the GrandMaster of the Fighters Guild. Then it's going to be either the Mages Guild or House Redoran, and finally, once I've reached level 30 or so, I'll start the main quest and pound everything into dog kibble. Just need some more Grand Soul Gems... *he he*

  5. You just have to finish Telos and two other planets - each time you finish a planet, you can spar with her again. The last time I played, I hit Telos, Korriban and Onderon [the first part] and she was a Jedi before the big mercenary invasion on Dantooine. It's nice to get her as a Jedi quickly for the second half of Onderon and also Nar Shaddaa.

  6. I usually try and buff my INT so that I can get a lot of skill points, but there are only 2 places where I remember getting a new choice because my INT or Skills were high. One is on Peragus and your repair skill has to be high, and the other is during your first conversation with Atris. That's triggered by your INT.

  7. The link worked if I used M$'s IE.

I went looking on LA's website for a press release similar to the Activision one, and while I didn't find that, there is a press release announcing a distribution deal with Activision. I think that may explain some of it.

And I've taken several online surveys - one for my grad school, some from the consumer mail panel [although I haven't won 30,000.00 yet ] and this one, from what I DID see, was extremely similar, so if it's a fake, it's a pretty good one.

  8. What's the level cap set at? I don't know; although I did cheat one time and got to 15/20 - I used KSE and set my exp. at 999999. It did have a level after 1,000,000 - 1 million 50 thousand, I think. I would imagine it can't be that much higher!

If I recall, Kreia gives a bonus to experience. It's her special "Mentor" feat or somesuch. Supposedly gives 15% extra at max, but I never used her. Anyone else know about that?

  9. I don't know how helpful this will be, but I'll post it anyway. I updated my videocard drivers the other day from Omega 4.11 to ATi 5.04 and it seems to have resolved all of my graphical issues. There are still some other bugs that Obsidian needs to fix; but even moving T3 on that fluky level in Paragus seems to be better. The link to the 5.04 drivers is here.

  10. What, the second patch hasn't been released and it's past "a few days"?

OMG, OMG, THE SKY IS FALLING!!!

     :("

    ROTFLOL...

I think it would be pretty cool if Obsidian did Deus Ex 3, preferably a lot closer to DX 1 than DX 2 - although I will say that I never played DX2. I wasn't excited by all the changes that Ion Storm [or whoever] implemented with DX2.

  11. Ok Master D.  You just sit right there and play your game as-is.  Maybe post a complaint every once in awhile.  Sounds good.

In the meantime, a couple of us will try to provide Obsidian with some useful feedback that they can actually use if they decide to release another patch.  :ermm:

    ROTFLOL

Maybe that's the whole point to having forums - constructive feedback? NAHHH!

  12. Thankyou for that useless piece of guesswork, I'm sure your sources are totally reliable  <_<  I'll simply wait and see

I agree with Dark Paladin, especially after our buddy's second post.

    Just to play devil's advocate...

Also, let's not forget that, depending on the arrangements with the publisher, after the 1-2 business days spent gathering, recompressing, and packaging all those files (not an insignificant number of files!) it make take several days to get release approval from LA or whomever is going to distribute the patch, and then propagate it to all the servers (just as an example of how long it might take for a file distribution site like File Planet... for certain types of submissions, it takes 1-3 days to get approval, then up to another 1-2 days to propagate to multiple servers).

And, note that patch v1.0b had a few additional alterations/fixes not mentioned in their readme. I say, don't look a gift horse in the mouth if they decided to sneak in a few minor fixes for problems under the hood without making a big deal out of it too...

Makes an awful lot of sense to me, especially the part about 'slipping in a few additions'. I doubt that LA has people sitting around in their offices waiting specifically to approve TSL patches.

  13. TRON-

You may want to check out www.NewEgg.com - they have some of the best prices I've seen on computer stuff, and they *should* be able to ship overseas. I got my Radeon 9600 with 256 MB Video Ram for a touch over 100.00 USD, an extremely good deal at the time.

Just figured I'd try and help you out.

  14. So I have to install this Service Pack 2 having 266 Mb??

    Do then this proper?

You should install SP2 as a matter of basic computing safety, although it is a large DL. You can order it on CD from MS at their SP2 webpage; You'll have to look around since I don't know too much about whether or not there will be language problems. I doubt that you are having problems running TSL because of that.

It's definetly the video card. TSL requires a Radeon 9200 or better [i think] and it sounds like there's no way around it. A 7500 is just too old for TSL...You *could* try contacting LA Tech Support, but I think you are outta luck. Sorry!

  15. Hmmm... I was on topic...once... I think. Oh well.

It was thirty years ago, not so much now. My memories of school in the USA confirm the woeful state of education there: I went from third form in the UK to grade six for most subjects and seven for English (I was reading Colditz when I arrived) and Mathematics (gotta love algebra).

Which is why my wife and I will not be enrolling our kids in public schools, among several other reasons.
