  1. I think part of the problem is that we're not kids anymore, so we're rating the series as science fiction/drama for adults, which it most certainly isn't. There are plot holes you could drive a space ship through, but compared to the stuff in the original series, they're almost plausible. Compared to anything else, they're ludicrous.

The only characters I cared about was Penny (the slacker), Don (the rogue) and the Robot. Oh, and the chicken. The chicken may not be the best portrayed, but she's probably the only character whose fate some viewers worry about. Debbie is incredibly lucky though, so she'll probably survive anything short of a supernova.

If Season 2 gets greenlit, prepare for "timey wimey" stuff.

  2. Slowest space chase in the history of cinema. Seriously, I'm thinking they're not going to have Finn and Rose go to another planet, pick up some guy, come back and the Rebels haven't been caught. And the First Order's ships / fleet is still crawling after them? Yep, that's what happened.

  3. Watched all episodes of Lost in Space. It was okay but generally was put off with too much dumb decisions being made by the characters.

Supposedly smart characters just keep doing dumb things. I'm going to take a field trip in the buggy and not say why, even to my estranged husband and not tell anyone where in case i get into trouble. Then guess what happens .......?

One of my favourite scenes early on in "The Expanse" was when they were investigating a derelict ship in suspicious circumstances. They split up into teams, in constant contact with a coordinator on their ship, send drones in ahead to investigate, pull out the ships records and when they find suspicious looking glowy stuff with body parts embedded in it, they bug out and nuke it from a distance.

That's how you react in a dangerous situation. Not have arguments about relationship issues and leave the kids by themselves.

  4. Do they really expect a single guard to take on an unknown number of assailants with an unknown quantity of unknown weapons with no knowledge of what's going on?

Robocop might be able to of course, but he ain't available.

And calls for arming teachers. If you are a teacher and arm yourself you had better be prepared to use it on the gunman, even seek out the gunman because sure as the sun will rise, your actions will be be the subject of debate in the public arena.

  5.

Alita looks fantastic. Just like the manga.

I've never actually read the manga myself. But this hybrid style that they are going for is really weird.

Not weird at all. Alita looks like she does in the manga.

You mean just as she does in a medium that employs a consistent art style, which is also in-line with the design language of that medium in general.

Alita has been remarked in the manga about her eyes by other characters (and her octopus lips which they've left out of the movie).

Maybe the other characters in the manga don't know Alita is in the manga and that she's in a medium that employs a consistent art style, which is also in-line with the design language of that medium in general?

  6. The Last Jedi. Thought it was ok but nothing special.

    Some things I found odd...

Slowest space chase in the history of cinema. Seriously, I'm thinking they're not going to have Finn and Rose go to another planet, pick up some guy and come back and the Rebels haven't been caught. And the First Order's ships / fleet is still crawling after them?

You could delete all of Finn's scenes and it wouldn't have had a negative impact on the movie. I'm not sure what his character is meant to be.

Same with the Casino. Delete that from the movie as well. The whole sub plot of the code breaker adds nothing.

Poe adds nothing as character to the story. He might be a good pilot but so was Wedge in the original series. He should be a background character like Wedge.

The Rebel Admiral keeping the cloaked escape ships a secret. If it wasn't a secret and the Admiral told Poe her plan, then Poe would never have sent FInn and Rose to the Casino planet and no need for the codebreaker. And with no codebreaker, then no double cross and the First order finding out about the cloaked ships.

The direction they took with Luke. Seems to go against his character imo. If he found out Snoke was such a threat he should have gone after Snoke instead.

Didn't need the ewoks porgs on the island or the Millennium Falcon.

I felt I've seen all this before. There's probably more but these are off the top of my head.

Infiltrate the Death Star Snoke's ship and disable the tractor beam hyperspace tracker.

Battle of Hoth Crait aka Salt Hoth with Walkers and Speeders.

Enter the Dark Side Tree Tunnel and see a reflection of yourself.

Yoda Luke training Luke Rey on a faraway planet and Luke Rey leaving before their training is finished.

Darth Vader Kylo Ren handing in Luke Rey in hand cuffs in front of the Emperor Supreme Leader Snoke and the Emperor Snoke dies by his apprentice.

  7.

It's obvious we need trigger warnings on everything including food, water, everything you see in a supermarket, escalators, elevators, sporting events, participation medals, etc.

Because one person may have had a bad experience with a mars bar and we need to protect everyone and give them an informed decision on whether they should participate in everything we do in life.

You've just reinvented the signs and nutrition labels.

You're suggesting trigger warnings are the same as nutrition labels?

  9. With exercise, I found the best way was to join a fitness group, surround myself with positive people that encouraged and inspired me to push myself into things I never thought I could accomplish. I was fortunate enough to join a group who train people from the obese to marathon runners. Only 4 months ago, I started running and a coach who is part of team Under Armour Australia who taught me how to run properly.

So far this year, these are the events I've completed or will complete. And this is from someone who had never run more than a couple of kilometres in my life.

  10. Catching up and binge watched a few seasons over the last few weeks.

Black Sails Season 4. Enjoyed the ending and I think they ran out of ideas. Good they stopped and didn't milk it.

Continent 7 Antarctica. Amazing documentary series.

Grimm Season 6. Loved the ending. No more Grimm. :(

The 100 Season 4. Quite ridiculous at times for some viewers but I enjoy it. I don't care about the science or plot holes.

    The Blacklist Season 4.

The Blacklist Redemption. Cancelled after one season and should only be one season imo. I liked it for what it was.

    The Expanse Season 2.

    The Magicians Season 2.

Now I'm catching up on the DC universe. Arrow, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. And will watch Gotham as well.
