  1. Well, now I think arquebus is not a good choice of proficient weapon for MC.

There are only four unique  arquebuses in game:

    • blightheart: your char can't use it if you don't play those three classes
    • dragon's dowry: too expensive, I'd rather upgrade other weapons or ship first
    • the red hand: no one has found it yet
    • three bells through: no clear info for now in wiki. Some one said it's a reward for Maia's personal quest?

I'm 14 level now, and I only have first two. Even before I acquired blightheart, I already got all unique pistols and blunderbusses.

"Only four unique" in the context of Deadfire is a good number, more than blunderbusses (2) and pistols (3) (and many other one-handed melee types).

Blightheart is inferior in terms of damage to Dragon's Dowry, you need to soulbind it to unlock its potential and can't apparently be enchanted to Legendary quality.

Three Bells Through is also inferior to Dragon's Dowry and does friendly fire (shoots in a line, hitting up to three targets friend/foe).

Dragon's Dowry packs a hit when enchanted with the +50% Burn damage and has the ability to significantly raise your attack speed, costs 45k.

The Red Hand fires two shots in a closer range with a incremental damage +1% per kill until rest, but it is to be found in a random event.

If you plan your MC around the arquebus, Dragon's Dowry is arguably the only valid choice. It gets worse if you have Maia in your main party.

The Red Hand would at least provide a solid alternative, but it is nowhere to be found.

  2. I don't see any replayability value in a, apparently very slim, random encounter. And the point to hoard all unique items in a single playthrough is for completionist' sake: it should be almost feasible, not easy, but doable. Having all unique items is also fun to test/run any build you would like to try with the unique items.

I will add that I find there is a healthy frequency of unique items, but too many unique sabres and swords, not enough variety for arbalests, battle axes, clubs, crossbows, hatchets, hunting bows and wands.

  3. I've done all I could and I'm about to set sail for Ukaizo. I have not found the broom or Dragon's Dowry, however—any idea where those are?

Dragon's Dowry is just for sale (45k) at Uto's gunsmith in the Brass Citadel. No need to join RDC or anything.

A bit ironic you missed it, since it is probably one of the first powerful unique item you see and start to save up gold for it ;)

The broom is on the ground to pick up in on encounter with the "Fire Giants", the wiki mentions "Map Fight against Eotens at 6'13" 46'27"".

  4.

So the Red hand still hasn't been found?

Not yet and it’s driving me crazy. At first I just wanted this gun in order to cross off its location on my list. Now it’s become some kind of obsessive quest of mine. I am traveling through a different play through and killing every NPC in the game in order to see if it drops off of someone we didn’t think of.

Don't get too crazy about it: like Dr. Hieronymous Alloy said, if it was somehow obtainable, it would have been found by now. At this point I even consider that it is not properly implemented ingame, with a small chance that it is perhaps gated behind some contrived requirements related to PoE 1 decisions.

I agree about killing every npc whenever you have the chance, that is perhaps the only critique regarding the itemization of PoE 2: a bit unfortunate for RP reasons, but you are almost sure to obtain a unique item.

  5.

I *think* I have the Red Hand; need to check my stash next time I play. Unfortunately I’m not sure how I got it as I’m doing a completionist run :-/

Sure you didn't console it in?

I'm starting to wonder if it's gated behind some rarely chosen first game option.

I am also convinced it is gated behind some rare and strict requirements. That or it is not implemented in the game yet (perhaps even bugged?) or maybe rewarded from one of the plagued ships.

  6. Where are the +2 evocation gloves, other than the Berath's Blessing's merchant?

The Firethrower's Gloves are looted from a chest in the fortress of the "Fire Giants" in the Ashen Maw: it is in the area where you can meet their faction leader. At the start of that area you can take a left, central and right way: the chest is found in the right way.

I don't remember all the specific names but I tried to be as specific as possible.

Also looking for the locations of "Ajamuut's Stalking Cloak" and "Upright Captian's Belt".

The cloak is looted in one of the three vases in the treasure of the "Magma dragon" in the Lair of the Ancients in Ashen Maw.

The second item I have no clue which one it is.

  7.

To get the Devil of Caroc breastplate though I believe you needed to prevent the Devil of Caroc from killing and get the ending where she is torn apart by the villagers rather than the comfy ending where she finds peace and walks into the sea.

You mean it depends on the ending in pillars of eternity 1 the white march if the armour is sold or not?

I did not import a savegame from PoE 1 but generated one in Deadfire where I picked she killed Harmke. Never found the breastplate in my playthrough.

As feliznav said, it is most certain you have to let her spare the guy so that she gets hammered by the villagers (and eventually ends up as a breastplate in Periki's Overlook).

  8. I have both, but unfortunately do not remember exactly much where I got them: I know the belt I had it in my stash for a long time, perhaps it was obtained just by questing in Neketaka.
Blightheart is rather uneventful how it is obtained: you loot it from a Wrecked Ship (or similar) on an souther island, if I am not mistaken in the middle.

Sorry for not being able to provide more specific coordinates!

  9. I got Eccea's Arcane Blaster from a named character in a Collapsed Coal Mine on an island between Motare o Kozi and Bekarna's Observatory, almost exactly NE of Neketaka.

I actually forgot this one because someone in my party would always end up injured trying to cross the jungle before reaching the Collapsed Coal Mine, I then decided to eventually visit it later. I went back to it now and found the unique pistol (a bit underwhelmed it is more like a wand), thanks for the heads up.

Looks like I have everything covered aside from The Red Hand: still no clues about its whereabouts, would be great to use it on the MC (Dragon's Dowry is already on Maia, and I am just not a fan of the two other unique arquebuses, Blightheart and Three Bells Through).

  10. The Sanguine Greatsword is available from an altar on an Island in the NW of the map. You need to visit the altar on the 16th of a month and wait until the sword appears during the ritual.

Any hints on how to find the Blackened plate and its helm are much appreciated!

Seems the bar to obtain the Sanguine Greatsword is higher than the rest… will look into it!

Both Blackened Plate Helm and Blackened Plate Armor can be looted by killing the Quartermaster in the Fampyr/Undead "castle" in the island in the South-East corner of the map.

  11. Hey folks, I finished yesterday evening my first playthrough and also tried to do a completionist run as much as feasible on this first try: I have been rather satisfied how it turned out, aside from a couple of details.

Said details are some unique items I haven't found and, at this point, not sure where to look for since I explored all islands, cleared all dungeons and only have the final quest to complete. With that in mind, I thought it would  be helpful to have a topic to share where and how to obtain all the unique items: please find a complete list here. I believe i found almost all of them, so If anyone would like to know how to obtain a specific unique item I will see if I can point you in the right direction.

As for me, I never looted the following items and would appreciate much if someone could help me find them, so that I don't miss them for my future runs:

The Red Hand – I tried this arquebus by adding it via console and couldn't wait to obtain it (fires two shots!). I was expecting/hoping to receive this sweet arquebus as a reward by allying with the Royal Deadfire Company but… nope (on the other hand, they provided me this Blunderbuss)! Anyone know how to get this?

Eccea's Arcane Blaster – I thought I would find it in Arkemyr's basement or as a loot or reward in his questline, but unfortunately I never found or looted it.

Devil of Caroc Breastplate – I guess its availability its tied by the endgame status of the Devil of Caroc (I guess by sparing Harmke, so that she is torn apart by the villagers). Question is if that's correct and where it is then obtainable: it is to be looted or it is sold in a shop? I never found it in my game. EDIT: apparently it is just sold by the metalworks shop in Periki's Overlook, most certainly tied with the decision to spare Harmke.

Sanguine Great Sword – Provided that I am not a fun of two-handers in this game (too slow), but I never found this greatsword. Perhaps because the description sounds like I should have sacrificed someone or did something wicked indeed, which I have not.

The Bloody Links – Not much to say about this one: never found or looted it. I wold be mostly interested to get it because it would look fitting for a barbarian character.

That would be it from my side, did any specific item you wanted elude you so far?
