    I've read that they have made a weather system for this game .. but does the weather change when on a planet or is it constant? like the eternal sunshine of KOTOR1?

    And how about time of day ? does the sun go down or is it a constant day/night setting for a planet?

     

    Sorry if this has been discussed before but I couldn't find any info on it on any official websites or these forums.. o:)

    As SmkJaguar I would like to meet a more mature (now 22 year old) Mission .. although I wouldn't want her to join my party it would be interesting if she functioned as piece of a bigger puzzle .. holding a small bit of information and when pieced together with other stories from other K1 camoes, and other bits of information, you get a clear picture of Revans fate/or whereabout ..

    As for what she has been up to for the last 5 years!?

    Mission is a very resourcefull and courageous girl .. so she would probably be fighting the Sith in what ever way suits her best! undercover for the Republic/freelance work/what ever .. but rest assured she would be on the front during something sneaky! :ph34r:

    Nothing official. It's possible the character who was queen at the end of TotJ (forgotten name) is still queen. In which case she would be in her 60's, good aligned, and probably Force sensitive. If she has been deposed she could even be in hiding and calling herself Kriea.

     

    There could be a userper on the throne who is the female Sith lord, but as I said, nothing has been mentioned.

     

    Hey thats a very good hypothesis! especially since Kriea seems to be force sensitive but not a jedi (or at least doesn't use a lightsaber), which supports your theory ..

    Imo this is whats going on:

    there is a major power struggle between Nihilis and the unknown female

     

    Nihilis is probably the most apparent main baddie that presents the biggest threat gathering the biggest forces ..

     

    The female is unknown and details about her are very sketchy.. she is elusive and difficult to track, but her forces are battling both the Republic and Nihilis..

     

    Sion is head of a small band which is hunting down and killing off the existing Jedis, if he is answering to someone we do not know, but he seems to work alone..

     

    The first two will manipulate you into figting their cause without you knowing it .. first annihilating Sion and then one of the others, depending on how you play(?)

     

    In the end some ultimate bad Sith will reveal himself/herself and we see how s/he has manipulated everyone the sith lords/you/The Republic/everyone into fighting each other to near extinction.. only to be to weak to fight him/her.. Maybe Revan will appear here with the means to fight off this final menance (but perish in doing so?)

     

    anyway .. thats my idea! :lol:

     

    hmm sounds a bit cliche when I read it.. I shouldn't be a storywriter I guess! :)

    2 Sentinel/Watchman Female

    3 Consular/Sith Lord female

    4 Sentinel/Assassin male

    5 Guardian/Weaponmaster Male

    6 Guardin/Marauder female

     

    I hope there is a difference between genders and what prestige class they have .. and if that is the case I will play all of them with reverse gender! So I have my work cut out for me for the better half of 2005 ! :)

    It was obvious when you left Dantooine, unless he spoiled it for you when you were on Taris.

     

     

    Well I don't know about that .. You couldn't know for ceartin! but I agree .. there were ALOT of small pointers towards it .. but only those who are keen on details would figure it out!

    I'm a pc-owner and I won't come back until I've finished the game a couple of times .. to learn about the small things I missed! Or maybe not at all .. depends on how well you behave from now on!! :rolleyes:

    I wonder whether the names can tell us something about the characters...

     

    "Mira" could be derived from "mirable" (wonderful; admirable). That would go with her, doesn't it?

     

    "Darth Sion" = Utopia; an imaginary place considered to be perfect or ideal.

    That's a very strange name for a notorious Sith Lord.

     

    "Kreia", perhaps it descended from "Chreia" (from Greek: "chreiodes"="useful") =anecdote

     

    "Bao-Dur" sounds Asiatic. "Bao" = (form Chinese: "person" or "precious" or "respectable"), "Dur" = (French: "tough", "two fisted"(fig.))

    Could make sense in conjunction.

     

    "Atton Rand" ~ "Attone Rand" ~ "At one with Rand" (very far-fetched)

    Ayn Rand was an American novelist. It is told that Atton always is wrong whatever he says (from an interview). Maybe there is a connection with Ayn Rand's philosophical thrillers or theorie?

     

    "Shadow-Fax" - no idea. Perhaps an eletronic device? A band?

     

    "Atris" ~ "Atri". In Hinduism Atri is a legendary bard and scholar.

     

    Had some of the same ideas .. :) but Atri (from hinduism) is a guy!

     

    Zion originally was the specific name given to a Jebusite fortress near modern-day Jerusalem, the only thing standing today are decaying ruines .. maybe that has something to do with it? or the Storywriters don't like jews? :):p:(:p

     

    But in regards to Kriea I thought it could also derive from the Irish Keria which is related to Ciara and Ciaran which means "Black" or "Dark" ..

    She seems like a mysterious character, maybe with a dark background? btw I have never seen her with a Lightsaber in any pics! Is there an explenation for that??

     

    And to the topic starter .. good ideas! But I hope HK-50 has a deeper background, and not just an assassin sent after you!

    Kreia both looks and seems as a tutor, and will probably fill the morally-heavy-role of the game .. I personally think/hopes she carries a dark secret that will be revealed late in the game to everyones suprise!

    Well for roleplaying sake I hope you are allowed to switch from light to dark and vice versa .. one of the coolest play throughs I had was when I started as Light side en slowly shifted towards the dark .. and finally succumbed to the temptation on the Rakatan Temple .. It wouldn't make sense from a roleplaying perspective to limit you to one allignment throughout the game ..

    But these prestigeclasses presents a problem! I agree .. And I hope they solve it satisfactory!

    When Bastilla shifted to the dark side she was given a new set of powers .. perhaps this option could be used? when you shift to complete DS from L you are given the option to choose your powers again? a bit lame, but a possibility

    "Can you really enjoy a film reading all the shortened dialogue on the bottom?"

     

    Well, reading the subtitles is done almost subconciously and most of the films I watch are in language I understand so the subtitles are there just as a back up. Muchos better than dubbing, which is practically raping the film.

     

    Only when done badly.

    Where I come from they do it with high expenditure.

     

    Well on the other hand you learn an extensive amount of English if you don't translate them .. I watched Cartoon Network almost from birth! :lol: and I spoke English quite fluenty by age 6! :) so I'm all for subtitles! It's a great way to learn a language .. and the negative aspect of dubbing is; you can't watch tv in France because they have dubbed each movie!!!

     

    And subtitles = good in a game like KOTOR if you miss a bit of the dialogue .. you can just read it .. :) also for those who read english much better than they understand it verbally ..
