u wud have 2 haveit againts peoples stregth. like say a really muscly guy has a blaster then u mite not b able 2 get it off him or make it a high level feat like not available till afta 20 or summat like that.

unless you are lvl 20 .. then I don't think anyone could hold on to their weapons .. I mean you should be able to lift a plane of the ground with no effort at that point!
but yeah .. it would be a good option for a nonviolent consular!

I hope they upped the damage of blasters, not that my character will have any use for them. <_<
well there has been alot of topics .. odds are that we would agree on one of them!

Pish-posh. In the movies, you only got shot if you were an inconsequential character, and if you were a Storm Trooper, you could forget being accurate unless your target was a big, huge, Jawa-operated scavenger do-hickie.
yeah always laugh a little to myself when Obi says that the stormtroopers are extremely accurate! more so than Sandpeople, even though they are able to hit a podracer going very fast ..
and the Stormtroopers couldn't hit a stationary target 2 feet from them!I for one agree with Hades_one here .. to a degree .. I felt the ordinary weapons were way underpowered! although a Lightsaber can cut through almost anything a blaster could kill in one shot just the same! and it should be alot more accurate considering it shouldn't have any recoil! the damage of a Lightsaber shouldn't be downgraded but the blasters should give more ..

A church person once told me that gotees are evil because goats have them and goats can be demonic symbols hence gotees = goats = evil. Take this with a grain of salt.
I know the devil has a gotee but didn't Jesus both have a full beard as well? That messes up the evil/beards rule.
maybe Jesus was secretly evil? but just pretended to be really good to throw people off?? hmm ..

you saved the galaxy as LS yes .. but the Republic was weak after the Mandalorian wars and the new war with Revan and Malak .. So if there were other Sith Lords, and it seems there was, waiting for the right time to strick then the years following would be the perfect time!
if you were DS then you severly crippeled the Republic .. but the question is how Revan lost the power .. perhaps he left for Korriban or something else, and three wannabees stepped up and fought due to the power vacuum Revan left .. or they attacked Revan shortly after and succeded in destroying the SF! and forcing Revan on the defensive until the defeated him and he left for Korriban or something else.. Or maybe Revan destroyed the SF himself to prevent it from falling into enemy hands after he was confident in the size of his fleet or maybe was forced to it?
the real question for LS is .. where is Revan now? and who where these new Sith Lords and where did they come from?
for DS the same, and also how was the SF destroyed?
otherwise its the same univers!

notice that this smiley has a beard .. the most evil men (from classical stories) are extremely masculine (like the devil/demon from the 80 movie Legend for example), and since facial hair is a maculine trait, evil men often have it to underline their masculinity!
SW borrows some of its themes from late classical medieval stories (under the influence of Christianity) or are very similar in underlying metaphors.. the good (society and dicipline) vs evil (emotions, animal urges and rage) the themes are, being able to control yourself and see the consequences of your actions much like a Jedi is supposed to!
In most of these stories the bad guy(s) where those who couldn't control themselves, they raped and killed etc. succumbing to their animal side and anger like DS.. while the hero was a young boy strugling with the same problems but in the end was able to control himself and therefore defeat the evil and was able to accend correctly to adulthood and be accepted fully to society..
and since the bad guys where animals by nature and thugs and associated with the lowlife of the time .. those who couldn't afford a shave now and then .. the beard (full facial beard) became a symbol of the animalistic part of humanity and a symbol of low social standing (which in medieval times were equivalent to evil)! so in a way you can say that the beard is evil!

Yeah, the one with the scar was the coolest...the one wit hthe long hair was good...but not that good.....cuz the mullet was gay...I hope they make long hair for guys and actually make it look jedi-like this time.....they need to model some after the qui-gon type of jedi....ya know?
especially since this is 4000 years b4 the star wars movies.....things should look older not all futuristic crew cut jedi....lol
thats not a mullet .. he just pulled his hair backwards .. my god if he had a mullet I would've tried to delete his picture! can't stand that haircut.. so 80'es .. nothing wrong with the time period except the clothes and the hair! :ph34r:

omg ur kidding right? the fact that you could have double bladed or dual sabers in academy was one of the worst things about it!!! plus the fact that EVERY other dark jedi had them
the dual sabers just look stupid and clumsy..and the staff saber is waaay too overused....i mean you would see them everywhere used by everyone when they are supposed to be a unique saber....
no I kinda liked the dual lightsabers, only looked REALLY clumsy when you used that weird special function which looked liked you tripped over something and went into a spin .. just wierd! but yes it was crummy that every sith had dual and double thats true ..

First of all i agree that sequels tend to be better. But:Jedi Knight was topped by Outcast, and outcast was topped by Academy
Did you even play Academy!!!??? OMG it was the worts game ever!!! Man was it baaad!!!
How can you say that Academy was better than Outcast??
yeah it was the other way around! the first game was really great .. but Outcast didn't really offer anything of substance in my opinion! and the only thing that was good about Academy was the fact that you could use single, dual or doublebladed lightsabers! and the fact that enemies would fly away like pebbles when you used Force Lightning on them! he he he
anyway as so many others have said already I want a more seductive evil option.. no one wants to be a Malak-kind-of-Sith all grunt and no brain .. at least I don't! But I will probably be LS although I would cherish the option to just disregard both camps and go my own way! sometimes SW is a little too black/white!

No seriously, Revan plays a big roll in the background sort of, is what i heard. meaning, you'll probably hear about him all the time and when his fate is discovered it'll blow you away (at least i hope so).
Yeah I heard that Obsidian was aiming for that too! and in case you don't feel his fate is spectacular enough they've rigged a tactical nuclear device to the holocron that depicts Revans death .. to really blow you away! .. at least thats what I've heard!

Doesn't say it's class specific though. Could be something the Sith Lord class gets for free and others have to learn. Though neither did the topic creator say anything about it being class specific.

to me it seems since he uses the term "free" it would indicate that the others have to learn them .. otherwise he would have said "Sith Lords special/unique force power is Crush Opposition"

Not really -There was a case of twice-baked ignorance on the previous pages; someone trying to justify his ignorance of the Dutch by saying something along the lines of "do something special and we'll have heard about you". Several centuries of 'special things' weren't enough, it seems.
yeah I had a good laugh when I saw that as well .. Totally disregarding the fact that The Netherlands was one of the most powerful colonial powers! but hey .. If you're not attacking Iraq at the moment, I guess your not worth mentioning!?

Maybe I'm a little strange, but I don't really like either extremes .. No one is 100% good or evil! And I don't trust any one who claims to be all good! (they are usually the worst because the don't feel the need to justiy or question their actions, they perceive them to be good) It is all too true the old saying .. The path to hell is paved with good intentions!
but in this little fantasy black n' white world I like to think of my self as good .. it does leave a warm and fussy feeling when you help someone out of seemingly selflessness good will..
no what I want is a healthy critical look at myself and reality, thats the only key to true moral! ... IMO
(hmm seem to be waking straight to the dark side in relation to SW)

they've said in a couple of interviews that the waiting time is not used for any extra content for the PC .. as well as there won't be any DC for the XBox version! so the long wait is just for XBox Christmas sales .. nothing else! guess who's responsible for that! *cough* Gates *cough*

Refering to the question of HK's appearence:
Have anyone seen the artwork for the box? HK-47 is clearly on it alongside with T3-M4! isn't that a kind of conformation .. at least that some kind of assassination droid will appear?

my theory:
the X-Box version is done and therefore the core of the game .. only thing missing now is the full conversion to PC and the debugging that follows .. So naturally some Devs will have more time off!

Maybe while Revan and Malak were begining to turn to the dark side. Your char became angry at Malak for some reason and you cut off his jaw. Since Revan had not fully turned dark, he/she was still was on his/her best friends side, so Revan banished you. Now that you had done so much wrong, the council thought it dangerous to keep you in the order.
it wouldn't say that qualifies as a "far, far worse than simply following Revan" .. It sounds like the PC did something really really bad! so bad that the council saw no other option than to sever your connection with the force (to prevent you from falling to the dark side?)

he just wants people to see things from other perspectives I guess .. seems so .. and how boring would this forum be if everyone loved every aspect of the game?? I mean all the topics would be "OMG I LOVE KOTOR" and all the replies "YES ME TOO WEEE" .. Nice to have someone bring up all the faults we don't want to see! thank you Hades_One!
