  1. Personally, I would only play games like this in first person.

But I understand people that like 3rd person view, It would be great if there would be an option for them to play like they want. If this would be a 3rd person view game only, I would be making post  asking for a 1st person view...

Obsidian was very good in delivering all kind of options in their latest games which you could toggle on/off if you liked. At least that was the case in PoE1 and 2.

But OW being a full 3D game, maybe it is not as easy to implement. Or maybe it is too expensive and time consuming?

Look at the Fallout 3 (for start)... I could never ever play it in 3rd person because of (please insert your most negative word yourself) character animations... I literally get nausea even remembering it...

If you can not do it right... do not do it.

I only wish NWN had a first person view... (off to the Beamdog website to ask for it)

  2. Why is everyone getting super defensive about Obsidian now?

The guy asked a perfectly legit question. It was like this in the other topic, 'Obsidian can take their time, they can do whatever they want! Why do you care?!'

    GEEEEEEEEEEEZ

Because I feel like it. Just that simple.

I presume with getting older I am not that impatient anymore... and I can look past some issues if I get a game that not may studios can produce anymore.

And I like the team. I cannot say I know, but I am sure they are giving their best and that is what is important.

  3. First of all, backer update no. 45 was great!

Second, Obsidian do not dare to make your next game without support from your loyal community! I don't care if you have enough money to make your next game. I want my signed CE of your next game!

Third, that Josh muppet.... It must be in the backer rewards or as a stretch goal for your next project!!!!

    Please, please...?

  5. I would so much like to see them make NWN 3. With updated tools that are even better than NWN ones. That game would thrive for decades! New persistent world servers and modules!

    Eh.... wishes...

    Edit:

P.S. Obsidian please do not make this game without us. Fig or Kickstarter... I want to be a part of the process and I am sure I am not alone.

And also - Signed CE :))))))

  6. I do not understand the logic of "not liking" certain types of crowdfunding platforms?

Obsidian certainly looked at the options on crowdfunding platforms and choose Fig surely because it is better for them. And that is really all I need to know.

You will back it or not. It is your choice.

I am so happy that I can be a part of this campaign. I like Obsidian so much for the people that work there and great games that they produce which I adore to play. And except few others there is no one in the game industry right now that are making this type of games.

I really don't know what kind of crowdfunding nonsense they would have to come to in order for me not to support them....

I am shooting for the early bird CE edition :)

I hope you will choose to support them.

  7. An update regarding ideal experience for completionist.

Just finished the game with 33% increased experience required per level. I hit level 16 right before the start of Act IV completing every quest, all bounties, all Caed Nua, all WMI & WMII content, and exploring every inch of every map. I would guess that for completionist 40% would be too high to reach the maximum level, while 25% would see you hitting the maximum level somewhere around 80% of game completion. So 33% is a pretty good value to use (maybe 30% if you're aiming for 95% completion).

A few stats from the playthrough:

    PotD, Expert

    124 Hr, 17 min

    ~ 3 weeks to complete

    ~ 125 quests completed

    ~ 4000 enemies defeated

    ~ 13 months elapsed (in-game time)

    ~ 10 days in combat (in-game time)

Absolutely loved the game, without a doubt one of the great CRPGs. A big thank you to Obsidian for bringing us such an enjoyable experience. Also, the art was amazing - an incredible job all around. Can't wait to see where they go with the series next!

    :dancing:

Thank you very much for this!!!

I will use around 25% as I am not sure I would be able to achieve such a high completion %, as I never got more than a 1st half of the original game.

  8.

I am starting poe again on potd difficulty. Now that PER is very important for Chiper, it seems that RES is only dump stat. I am concerned about dialogue options with low RES.

Can someone tell me if it will be a problem, having in mind that INT would be 18+ with PER and MIGHT and DEX at 15+?

    thank you very much.

Yup, 3 Res is fine. There is a great Cipher 3.0 / WM2 guide on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv0g7g05XkM

Basically Max Might, Int & Per, Min Res, Flat Con/Dex. Dex isn't as useful on ciphers as the majority of their most useful powers are fast cast anyway. Consequently you can leave dex at 10 or possibly take some out of con to put into dex. Personally I leave con at 10 to make my cipher less squishy and leave dex at the recommended 10.

The only problem with ciphers is their level 4-7 powers are pretty crap and play can feel a little stale between these power levels, and then their level 8 powers make the game feel broken due to how OP they are.

Thank you very much for the info! I will look into it. I am starting my play-through on Friday afternoon after work and will not stop for at least 3 days :)

It is not. Resolve is typically only used for non-violent solutions to quests.

    Thank you very much!
