  1. Have the physical goods from the KS been shipped to their final destinations yet, ie. to the backer provided addresses?  Since no one has posted about having received anything (that I have seen), it seems like they may not have been.

What carrier was/will be used (USPS, UPS, Fedex, etc.) and will there ever be tracking info provided via the backer portal?

Don't remember who posted it, but they said all items have been shipped, but the display in the backer portal hasn't updated to it yet.  This includes Air Delivery from Obsidian to Paradox for shipment to the those outside of the US.

As for what shipment type, unknown.  Haven't heard anything about that.

  2. A little confused. As a 1k Backer, do I only get 1 Royal or are the other ones Royal too? I don't want to tell people I'm giving away the wrong items.

The extra copies are only the base game.  You will only get 1 Royal.  The Royal you get is your copy from the physical tier match to your pledge.  So like me you would get 5 Hero Editions and 1 Royal.

  3. Bit confused. Are digital orders in a different area or are they linked to the download? It's late at night, don't look at me like that.

Which digital orders?  Things like the almanac and stuff like that?  If so, that hasn't been released yet.  I believe someone mentioned about it being released either on the 25th, or when the game goes live on the 26th.  Right now the only digital thing released is the key claiming.

  4.

However, backers *did* get the option of physical, DRM-free disks at certain tiers--those DRM-free physical disks will not exist in retail, where all retail physical copies are Steam.

At least, this is what I understood.

Thats how i understood it too, not that i will run into that problem, but how would one patch those Versions ? (im aware of how patching works, but not sure how its solved in this case)

I would hope that they had a patch on the site for those backers that got the DRM free copy.  Hopefully.

  5.

Just to be sure.  I just generated a Steam Code.  The Retail Pack will come with a box that has a different copy of the game, yes?  One that can be DRM free.

    Nope, box copy = steam

Wrong.  Backer Copy = DRM free copy of the game.  Any retail copy sold - not backer copies - are Steam only.  Just to corret this.

Edit:  Unless I am getting confused by the conversation... It is 2 in the morning here.  If you buy a retail copy the game is locked to Steam only.  If you backed for a physical copy it is DRM free.  Hope I am not confusing anyone or myself.

From my understanding, yes.  The backer copy is a DRM free copy of the game that is separate from the Steam or GoG key you will get from the backer portal.

Are all the digital rewards tied to the generated key or are they tied to the backer portal account?  I wouldn't want to give away all the goodies with the digital key.   :)

Digital rewards are separate from the keys.  You won't be giving away your goodies if you give your extra key copies (which are just base game) to friends or family or whoever.

The only goodies tied to a key are if you pledged for a tier that got tied to one of the other editions like Royal or Champion(?).  But even then, the rewards are still going to be downloadable in your backer portal regardless of what you do with any game cd key.

  7.

Yes, Gold Backers get 5 additional base game keys, and then the Royal Edition key which is to match up to our pledge reward.

Hmm, I only have two base game keys. I'll look into later and see if there's something amiss.

I was corrected.  I forgot which price point started Gold tier backers.  $1000 gold tier backers are the ones that got 5 extra keys.  Did correct my previous post.

  8. Just ran into a minor bug when selecting different tabs in the Option menu.  Might be because my laptop is using a really crappy video card, but I thought I would report it regardless.

A note about it, the tab names only disappear if I choose Game, Graphics, or Sound.  Choosing either of the other 2 options will display the tab names.

    System Information:

    Intel Core Duo 2.53 GHz

    6 GB Ram

    Windows 8.0

Nvidia Geforce GTX 260M (Told you it was outdated)

This is just a test of how the game runs on my older laptop.

    Edit 1:

    Disappearing weapon in character creator.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Start a new game

    2.  Difficulty option doesn't matter

    3.  Choose a priest and can go by the details in the screenshot

    4.  When selecting 'Culture' choose the 'Old Vailia'

    5.  Rotate character when viewing and the weapon partially disappears during the viewing

  9. Considering some tiers pledged on KS included the 'Expansion' to PoE, can you say that taking funds to use in fulfilling that promise is breaking backer trust?  So, I take that as my backing contributed to the funding of PoE and its expansion, even if the KS specifically was for PoE.  They had plans to make an expansion, and whatever money they don't need to improve PoE because of the additional funding still being received to this day goes towards fulfilling part of my pledge package.  Just my opinion.

  10. Very dissapointed to see a gun on the charcter portrait, did not relize this would be gun powder fantasy.

There has been mention for a while (maybe even during KS?) that there would be guns in the game.  But, they won't be like modern AK-47's or M-16's.  I think they are more like flintlock/very early guns.  Unless you are talking about something else?  Don't really know if you don't know about them being in game, or why you consider it a gun powder fantasy when word has been passed that guns are in game?

  11. Hard to say for certain what it will sell at.  I will be happy if it sells more than 500k copies during its first year.  But, I can see it selling more.  There are certain instances when sales will increase, such as Steam and GoG sales.  Some will buy the game at $5 even if they don't like it or maybe won't play it much.  So that could increase sales, even if it lowers the profit brought in.

Hopefully the game will sell 1+ million copies.

  12. I understand what you are saying, but I will just have to agree to disagree.  Just because someone somewhere can pull it off, doesn't mean everyone can pull it off even if that one person told a million people.  Not everyone is as skilled at completing games as everyone else.  Like mentioned, it is built around party play and solo play isn't taken into account.  But just because something isn't taken into account does not mean someone out there isn't smart enough to out think the developer.  No one developing team can ever take into account every possible persons strategy for playing a game.  Just isn't possible.  So, if someone manages to out think the developer, then I can't blame the developer for that and say that the system failed.  Unless you think someone can come up with some miraculous formula for designing a game that no one can ever work around?  Never seen a full proof system that is so perfect that just because the game is designed a certain way that a player can't outsmart it.

  13. Let me just ask something.  And no one take offense to this, as it isn't meant to offend anyone.  The game is made around a party system for completing it.  And we know that different people will invariably be better at completing the game on different modes.  So, say you have a hard time beating it with a full party on the highest difficulty.  Someone else has a pretty moderate challenge for beating it with a party of 4 on the highest difficulty.  But, someone else is so good at the game that they can beat it with one character on the highest difficulty.

So, taking all of those different people with different skills in beating the game, can you say that just because someone else beat it with one character and no party that the mechanics that were made for a party game are broken?

Since I am asking, I will also give my opinion.  No, I don't see the mechanics of the game as broken or faulty because someone was able to accomplish something I was unable to.  We know it is set around a party beating the game, and won't be optimized for solo play.  But, just because someone can beat it doesn't mean that it is broken or faulty, it just means someone is that much better than I am.  I can find it the hardest challenge in the world with a full party, and can possibly not even beat it then.  That is just my opinion about it.

Edit:  But, if I could load up the game today and beat it with one party member on the highest difficulty with no real knowledge of the game system, then yes, I would consider it broken and faulty.  That would be a pretty crappy game design and most likely boring as heck to play combat wise.
