  1. As we're just 1 day and 7 hours away at the time of writing, I thought it might be good to get a list of any release day events that will be running tomorrow. If it's someone hosting a VOIP or text chat session for discussion or help, notable streamers playing the game, whatever. Any communities organizing events? RPGCodex? Obsidian events?

I know Totalbiscuit will be streaming on Twitch for GOG at 21:00 UTC. Add anything else you've heard of below, please.

  2.

That shouldn't be a problem. If it's added to your game list, you can right click it and the first option should be to pre-load.

It is, but then I get the error message - as far as I can tell it's won't download any files :-(

Is anyone else getting this happening?

Also I do I download the Strategy. Guide and World Almanac that I purchased as separate pledges? When will they become available to download?

I only got a message about the game not being released yet, and the files being encrypted. The install still popped up in the background.

Extras like the strategy guide will be released when the game is released.

  3. Manuals have always had these kinds of errors. Every IE game came with an errata text file(And pretty much every game ever), the BG1 manual described game mechanics that didn't exist in the game, etc. It's a little more excessive in this case, as changes have been substantial and ongoing, but

Regardless, it was unavoidable that the physical manuals would become obsolete. Just the balancing patches alone would make the manual incorrect on day 1, regardless of whether it was 100% correct for the release version. Same thing applies to the IE games, as well. This is just one of the many reasons why manuals aren't made anymore.

The digital manual will probably see updates, though.
