    • All the talents need to be revamped...no more useless talents or talents that don't noticeably change gameplay. In summary get rid of trash talents

    • Developers need to play and tune the game on the highest PoTD difficulty. This is to ensure no challenges are impossible to overcome. (I could not kill Adra Dragon on PoTD)

    • No more random addition of immunities that unbalance the game. If you are going to give immunities please balance the other talents in the game to accommodate them,

    • Per rest attribute bonuses are immersion breaking and frustrating. No one should have to trace their way out of a dungeon to reinstate attribute bonuses

    • Let us customize companions from the start of the game. Do not give us random stat distribution NPCs to salvage from their miserable attributes (Sorry Pallegina...)

    • Take advantage of Amazon's free game engine to give us some better graphics. I want to see the armor I put on my toon, heck I want to see their face

    • All classes should have natural regeneration of health, even if some classes have more than others. Natural regeneration should be upgrade-able with talents

    • Players should be rewarded for designing good character builds. Remove the over dependence of classes on gear to be viable. (Forgemaster Gloves I am looking at you)

    Hi,

Obsidian devs: Please don't listen to any of the wishes in the quote above. My wishlist consists of ignoring the above wishes. In particular, PotD is too easy and should be made harder.

    I second this.

I hate small pop-up windows that don't utilize the screen space available. It's not like anything's happening in the background while you're leveling up, so why not use the entire screen? I'd rather make all the rest of the windows take up the whole screen as well.

The up-close-and-personal character model is also used in inventory page, so it's nothing that clashes with the game's aesthetics. In IE games the paper doll was used in inventory page only, so isn't this an improvement towards more consistent aesthetics?

Have you never leveled up a character during combat?  I know I have during Icewind Dale (1 and 2) as well as Baldurs Gate(s)

It's not like the battle kept going, right? I'm kinda not understanding the point you're trying to make here...

On topic, I think the level up page looks fine :)

  3. All DRM does is punish legitimate consumers for NOT pirating. I'm not saying piracy is right, nor am I excusing it. I will say this: Diablo 3 would probably have been a day 1 purchase for me, except that they implemented that stupid "always online" crap. And I still haven't bought Spore, despite being interested in it. So they've lost sales because of DRM, not in spite of it. Some day, I might buy them, crack the DRM, and play them, but they still lost a full price sale because of it, and since I'll probably end up getting them used, they lost a sale from me altogether.

And I may be wrong about this, but I'm willing to believe that digital distribution has increased piracy as well. I pay for every game I play (I even buy Super Famicom games so I can feel right playing the translated ROMS), but I only buy physical copies. If you tell me my choice is to pay full price for a mere download or not play your game, I'll pass. I have hundreds of other games I can play.

I do, I admit, have tons of indie games downloaded from the humble bundles, but I feel good about donating to charity and getting free games. And if the games are good, sometimes I get lucky and the companies have CD collections of their games.

  4. I think it is hard to balance out the urgency of a main plot and the feeling of exploring. For example in morrowind I found myself not knowing what to do other than just exploring and getting bored of that and stopped playing. I think there needs to be *some* urgency of a plot or you will have no reason to go on at all and just get bored. Of course the exploration feeling is very nice too, but I personally get that everytime if the main story brings me somewhere or if I have to go through an area to get to the next main plot area anyway.

Had nothing against the dungeon. It is linear, but has lots of different ideas in them, stuff you can find, story-lines you can pick up and you get to travel with your "best friend" until she gets taken, what adds a lot to the motivation to go and search for her, if you don't know her from BG1. I think it is well done and can't give a lot of examples that made a better job. Every starting/tutorial level is linear, because you have to build up knowledge of the game.

Damn you guys, now I want to play that game again.

Morrowind always made it pretty clear where you needed to go and what you needed to do. Just because so many of us have ADD and go wandering off freeing slaves and picking berries the second the leash is removed isn't really an indicator of poor pacing. If they forced time limits on main missions, people would complain about not having time for side quests.

That said I probably spent probably 40 hours in Morrowind exploring and doing side quests before ever talking to Caius Cosades. Loved every second of it.

  5. You don't care about graphics at all? Then you're okay with the game looking like this then?

I think the ladies are sick of being mis-represented in games as well as the whole 'unrealism' thing.

Oh the boobplate complaints and stuff? Actually I think it's mostly guys who are having a knee-jerk reaction to all excessive pandering in games.

I donated to the Indiegogo crowdfunding of Ancient Domains of Mystery. Deep gameplay is way more important than graphics.
