Aren't you guys a bit too eager for mods?
The game is not even stable yet.
Modders are always eager to start early, because modding takes a while and we want to release something in the game's lifetime.
I had a few item ideas even before the game came out, but now that we know much more about the lore and world...tons of ideas for enemies, creatures, quests and items.

That sounds like a contradiction. TotSC (from my memory) wasn't that small! What they describe definitely does sound like DLC and there doesn't seem to be enough time to make anything substantial if they're going to release it relatively soon.
Kinda disappointing. I was hoping perhaps they'd do something with the fortress, which sadly, just as Skyhold in DAI, was left basically unused. No siege, nothing.
I really wouldn't mind waiting for a proper expansion. :/

The +1 MIGHT hat you can get from a looter at the Madhmr bridge is described as a yellow wide brimmed hat. Its icon however is the standard helmet and when put on it looks like a leather cap.
edit: I wonder if it's related, but some other items in the past also didn't look like their icons. A shield looked clearly round, but was called "heater" etc.

Nice! Looking forward to that tutorial!

Hence my suggestion of changing the out-of-combat movement only.

Does it say who the artist is? I honestly can't say and it doesn't seem to be Kieran Yanner. (who did the wallpaper)

The Torment:ToN video showed off a movement/animation system using irregular speed and inertia. ("improved on PoE technology, or something like that)
Maybe not for combat, but for just moving around, I would really love to see that being traded back to PoE. PoE's animations are fine, they do the job, but they look robotic and especially compared to Torment's movement, they just hurts the eyes a bit. I understand in RtWP combat these would change the mechanics too much, but for out of combat movement, they'd be wonderful to have.
It's super late in development, I realize that. But, perhaps it could be applied as a patch after release.
Thoughts?

Do we know what size the ingame portraits are yet? I feel like painting a few for myself. (and others possibly)

On a side-note ...
don't you enjoy & laugh with angry reviews ?! I find them hilarious !
If you are reading this Joe, stop playing ESO and give us some more of the angry !!!
I actually do. Joe was my least favourite of the gaming critics when he started on TGWTG (seriously, his first video, iirc, was "Why LOTR: Conquest is gonna be the best game evar!"), but quickly climbed to the top. Yes, I skip the cringeworthy costume bits, but he's usually fair and the right amount of objective.

What I love the most about that video - the first attack with the sword. Yes, this is exactly what a sword blow does to a person in plate - NOTHING. It doesn't even throw him off balance.
If only game developers and movie makers saw this.

Although P:E is probably not that game, I would like to see one where social rules governing carrying of weapons are enforced. Only nobles carry swords openly, nobody walks into the lord's presence armed, and armor is only worn when expecting to go into battle. That would make room for all those neglected weapon types. Could even have whole categories of concealable or disguised weapons -- walking-sticks with lead poured into the pommel, sword-sticks, boots with sewn-in sheaths for knives, a belt that doubles as a garotte, and so on.
That is such an easy thing to do in games, but few ever address it. Mount and Blade for instance, automatically strips you of weapons and helmet when you visit a lord. And it would make for interesting gameplay too, as you'd have to rely on hidden weapons while in a city, or risk being chased by the guards.

Yep, there's a big update coming. There's also an outsourced Android port in the works!

As a much belated heads up to fellow fans, the original artwork of the game has been on sale for penuts for a good while.

Bought one about a mysterious swordsman. About A5 size.
Well, since you brought it up... :D I'm also selling a few scenes I painted for the game.

IR Heartbleed, am I the only one who can't actually change his password? I'm constantly getting an "incorrect password" error. :/

Real weapons are cool because they're feats of precision engineering to produce the best results given certain constraints (physics and materials, mostly). If weapons can be magical, the constraints change, particularly with respect to weight. Historically, there was a fairly strong push to make weapons longer. So if you have a world where you can slap a lightness enchantment on a weapon without impacting the strength of the materials, you might be well served by making a magic sword a foot or so longer than it would be in the real world. If you can go really fancy and make the weapons lighter just for the wielder (or make the wielder significantly stronger), you might get some good mileage out of unusually thick blades for added chopping power. This is the sort of thing I'd like to see fantasy weapons explore. Not ridiculous spikes for no purpose, but "here are the tools we have, how do we make this more practical by using them?"
That would require game designers to know and care about weapon properties and blade mechanics and all that. Most games don't even bother with physics. But yeah, it's a cool niche.

That doesn't look like Sawyer's desk. He used to have a model M keyboard too, I think.
The images above are his though, so maybe he smashed the previous desk/keyboard in anger? )

Man, fingers crossed for an FoV slider.

how much you guys think a comission is for some artist to do ingame portrait?
depends on the quality you're after - professional artist, you could be looking at a few hundred dollars (unless you want the copyright in the image too - then more). Semi-pro, a bit less maybe.
You could find a hobbyist to do it in return for a GOG game or something.
Or just wait til the community start churning out portrait packs for PoE sizes and hope one fits.
That sounds about right. Depends on how complicated the portait, but I'd probably do it for 200 or so.

I'm not fond of Paradox, mainly because of the (speculated, but likely) way they handled their relationship with Taleworlds and the Mount and Blade franchise. Still, as long as they don't have a say in development, PoE should do fine.

A gameplay video doesn't mean "demo", I don't want a carefully pre-scripted rail for a Todd Howard type to take me through and pleasure-shower me with wow moments. Especially in an Infinity type game this would be a bit more difficult. (and honestly, I kinda hate these demos. Just play the game like you would in testing, let me see what it really plays like.)
There's nothing wrong with showing alpha stage gameplay, I'd really love to see how combat looks at the moment and so on. I understand their concerns about how people might mistake alpha state for final polish though, which is why I'm not really expecting to see gameplay any time soon.
Still, it'd be pretty neat.

It can be alpha version of the content, as we've learnt before, they do everything in passes. So much of the content may be there, but the graphics are not yet painted over, animations are placeholder etc.

What do you want to see in expansions(DLCs)
in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)

Would be real nice if they did something with the stronghold.
