  1. Hey shanvhere,

I'm sorry that you are running into this issue.

I would suggest reloading a save prior to that to attempt to avoid this issue if possible.  It has been a while since I worked on this project and I cannot remember if this was a known issue with a workaround or not.  But what it sounds like is the game is entering a bad state and is potentially within the save you are loading before completing this quest.  Please try that and if it does not correct - please let us know.

    Cheers,

    Tyler Davis

  2. When working on console titles (specifically Sony) you must have an age rating before you can submit for certification gold status.  Microsoft will let you do optional pre-submissions without the age rating just to see what issues are present and must be resolved before release to the public.  Meaning - we can't release the game until we have the ratings for all of the local regions the title will be release in.

Also, you can't submit to the ESRB until you have all core content in the game so they can view and rate it.

  3. Does anyone know if they still need anyone to join the development team? I'm not trying to apply or anything but it seems that this would  be an amazing job to have for someone who develops games/etc.

This is our jobs postings page.  If you feel you have the skills for any of these positions please feel free to apply!  We're always looking for enthusiastic and talented individuals to help us make our games.

  4. Almost forgot!!!  DayZ Stand alone is a HUGE title for me.  I hope they bring it to consoles as well.  I think the Xbox One and PS4 would receive that kind of game very well.  It may be built for PC, but it would be ridiculously successful on that platform as a 20 dollar buy in XBLA/PSN.

  5. I have been a shooter fan since Goldeneye/Perfect Dark on the N64.  I played some CS 1.6 on PC back in the day too, but always had a console in the house growing up.  Right now I'm enjoying some Dead Rising 3 and Battlefield 4 on my Xbox One.  Very much looking forward to Titanfall, The Division, Watch Dogs, the next Halo, and hopefully some Rainbow Six within the next few years or so.  I've been dying slowly inside without my AAA anti-terrorism group.  I miss Ding.

Nope, Brian has been a lead on many of the projects. Being an amazing senior artist has also allowed him to participate on discussions on pretty much every project, so this is just more of a formal title for him. original.gif

On a random note, I just noticed your official title is the ass prod. *giggles*

Really getting into the South Park mood there.

If only we had audio recordings of some of the meetings for this project XD

VERY Disappointing and the comment about the challenge to bring the game up to the "crappy standards of the show" attributed to Matt & Trey makes this seem like a very hostile situation against Obsidian. If they meant that they were micro-managing the script and storyline - and working from a stress monster perspective - as it has been shown they do for the weekly episodes of South Park - then I guess I can understand why we're now delayed a year from the games initial launch.

For those looking for the context of my assumptions above - check out 6 Days to Air: The Making of South Park (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2076781/)

I can't imagine the stress and annoyance it has to be to work with that creative team - they are not planners - look at Team America and the impact filming that had on the production crew because of constant changes and rewrites prior to release.. Stick of Truth seems to be a victim of Matt & Trey's "brilliance and vision" when half the time they are making things up two days prior to the weekly airdate.

You can't do that in software development guys.. it does not work, the production pipeline is just too damned long and there are too many moving pieces. I bet it would almost be easier to have this game engine released with the art, systems and assets and then have the SP studio folks release episodic scenarios on a monthly basis or something.. sell a South Park: The Series Games Based on the Series Season Pass.. but if The Stick of Truth has a story already (Which I believe was developed by Obsidian and polished by South Park Studios writing staff) - well put it out there. You've shown you don't really care about the quality of the product in your past releases anyway, even in an unfinished state from all we've seen and heard - Stick of Truth far surpasses any of the last five South Park media cash ins.

Actually you can make a game with this style of creativity.  Is it very challenging in the game development world?  Yes.  It is true that in the scope of a video game it is harder to make changes, but not impossible.  It just takes more time to change things up in an RPG than in the show.

The great thing is that the creativity used to create South Park is shown brilliantly in the Stick of Truth.  It will be very worth it in the end once everyone gets their hands on it and gets to play the show.  Matt and Trey are brilliant individuals who have poured their heart and souls into this game just as much as everyone here at Obsidian.  Fans of Obsidian and South Park will be pleased to say the least.

March 4th is not that far away :)

  8. I hope they do/did some polish for the pc version regarding the interface/controls.

    Otherwise looks good.

PC controls has been a heavy focus for testing and functionality on this project.  Our PC only testers (which we have quite a few) have worked hand in hand with the UI artists, designers, and programmers on this project to make it feel the way it should.  I can say that the controls and interaction with the user interface don't feel forced.

  9. I play Battlefield 3 on Xbox 360 every day at lunch.  Sometimes I get in on some DayZ on the PC with some hardcore player killing action (bandit for LIFE!) and even Halo 4 from time to time.

Grew up living/breathing N64 Goldeneye, then Halo 1, 2, 3 - Rainbow Six series, and Battlefield.

  10. There are many Anjali fans around but few plays with the human form. My question is, is it possible to play on hardcore without firing up and burning everything. original.gif

Up to now, my Human Anjali playthrough has encountered some problems.

First of all, I don't know what stat to concentrate on wacko.png. Is it necessary to invest in Will, but then, her Human form uses mostly melee attacks, so should I instead concentrate on Attack. Then again, she has a talent called Radiant Will which increases her will. Does this mean that Will is more important?

Secondly, her movements are slow. This truly counts again you when playing melee and on hardcore, for monsters will slay you before you even have a chance to deliver a 2nd attack. Therefore, can Stamina and Armor help?

Another problem is Focus. I can see no ability that regens Focus and her Militancy talent provides little help unless U pump agility, which leads back to my 1st point: confusion on what stat to invest in wacko.png.

Also, what talent should I max ? As far as I can see, the Grace of FLame thingy is useless for 25% added Block value can't save you from being crushed flat, a full Focus bar really can't take 1 hit from bosses...and U need high Agility as well.

Please, I need clarification. Someone, if any, who has succeeded in making a survivable human Anjali please speak up.

It is and I've done it many times.

I have officially beaten Dungeon Siege 3 500+ times.  Roughly 200 with Anjali, 100 with Lucas, 100 with Katarina, and another 100 with Reinhart.

I have beaten the game with each character using one stance specifically many times.  However, balancing between the two forms proves to be the most fun.  If you are up to the challenge using one stance can be done.

  11. Katarina with as much agility/will/doom you can stack on her is the most underrated build in the world.

Heart seeking shot in empowered version = death to everything.

With Thrill of the hunt maxed (5% power per slot regained from critical) you gain 25% of your power back with each critical.

You can fire off an empowered shot basically infinitely if done correctly :)
