  1. I have to say I wouldn't mind seeing Pillars and Tyranny go to PS4 too....just preordered Tyranny for PC on GOG today and backed Pillars on KS so I'd love to see them expand to new audiences.....we've seen Torment, Wasteland 2, and Divinity Original Sin go to consoles so surely Obsidian can make this leap too.....and now inXile is pitching Wasteland 3 as a simultaneous launch on all platforms kind of thing....if they can do it sure Obsidian can, they are a much better studio than inXile or Larian.

  2. I don't think the Cypher are powerful enough......not by a long shot. They should be able to kill anything with a single thought, any enemy capable of the smallest amount of intelligence should either run or surrender instantly upon realizing they are at odds with a Cypher. Cyphers should only need to worry about stronger Cyphers. WIzards should only have to worry about Cyphers and stronger Wizards. Everything else is whatever. The cyphers shouldn't so much be a class or even a difficulty level.....they should be pure story mode because by all rights with their abilities they should be all-powerful.

  3. I still can't help but wonder WTF Obsidian were thinking when they decided to call those things wolves and cats......those are most definitely not Wolves or Cats.....I don't know what they are but they're definitely not wolves or cats ok!! I know what wolves look like and I know what cats look like.....those are not it.

Now presumably they need help so I'll post some pictures for Obsidian's sake.

    Wolves look like this: 140131083410-large.jpg

    Cats look like this: Bengal-Cat.jpg

We humans have an entire thing dedicated only to cat pictures...it's called the internet.

  4. Can people just let this freaking thing go already? It's minor crap. Nobody cares......people probably should have just have just shut up about it in the first place and let it be but no apparently some people got butthurt and started creating words to whine about it so Obsidian discussed a change with the creator so it's done. It doesn't matter, nobody cares either way even if I would have preferred that Obsidian had said f___ political correctness we don't care how much you whine, this isn't about you so go take your butthurt elsewhere.

  5. You got to remember that games like Original Sin and the others that have been out for a very long time ruled the top sales spot for a long time(something crazy like over a month) and even now are still selling solid. In comparison to Original Sin I am absolutely certain that PoE is doing a lot better and in the long term will come out on top of all the titles you mentioned by far.

  6.

No, but that doesn't matter at all right now because this game is insanely amazing.

Yes and no, Great graphics, seriously, here we got something above BGs, rest... meh

There are insanly great ideas in this game, sadly they have been insanely bad designed.

Bad Design? I don't see any issues except maybe there could be more reactivity to the player's race but it's not reasonable to expect more since having some 8 versions of a ton of dialogue plus all the potential branching would literally be impossible to implement. This is fine, about as good as could be expected given the time and budget they had to make the game. Fortunately it's insanely successful so hopefully Obsidian's future is secure to make future games on whatever timelines and budgets they desire without worries.

  7. We don't need figures to know the game is absolutely killing it at retail and that's amazing because it's topping all the sales charts that matter. Larian performed similarly with Divinity Original Sin and their attitude at the moment is a bright one in confidence their future is secure......I have no doubt PoE will do a lot better at retail....hell, the game now occupies numbers 1, 2 and 4 in GOG's top selling products and that is amazing. I can't wait to see Obsidian be fully in charge of their fate and future and to continue delivering insanely amazing CRPGs forever. Even billions/trillions of years from now when our star burns out and humanity will have moved out to other places there should still be an independent Obsidian making amazing games.

So, I had +2 DLC listed above and only "Pre-Order Bonus Item and Pet" was showing below the installer files. Then I used this link which someone recommended in the support forum -- https://www.gog.com/account/refresh -- to do an account refresh and it changed to +4 DLC listed above and links to "Pre-Order Bonus Item and Pet," "Kickstarter Pet," and "Kickstarter Item" showed up, so that link fixed my issue.

The pre-order item and pet, although only one link, are counting as 2 DLC for the "+X DLC" number listed above the game in the library I'm guessing.

Well that's interesting - cookbook showed up on gog now (before was only in the backer portal for me) - so did the documentary but it says "coming soon" and is currently 0MB - thanks :)

The documentary and novella have not been released yet so if you have access to these, they should currently show on GOG as "coming soon" and 0 mb, like yours does.

The Novella I wouldn't hold my breath for.....I get the sense that Chris Avellone is out of his depth with all the Kickstarters he has pending work for......Wasteland 2 launched September 19 2014 and it has a novel that Chris is supposed to be writing for it as well......it's been "coming soon" for over 6 months now so yeah.....we might see these things sometime before the year 2115.....if they won't still be "coming soon" that is.

OMG thank you so much!!! I just clicked on that link and it took me directly to my shelf and as you said it changed to +4 DLC and the other items now show up. Thank you very much.

  10. PoE is absolutely great but what I'd love even more would be if they could obtain the IP for Planescape and do a full on sequel to Planescape Torment. A game that works the way the upcoming Torment: Tides of Numenera will work where combat is a fairly rare and even then often optional where everything is all about the story and the lore and deep philosophical and psychological topics.....THAT would be the absolute best thing ever.

  11. They should simply show up in your inventory.

Also, I sold them both right away.

    But not the Space Pig.

    Sir Reginald stays.

So they are not a separate download? But then how does the game know you are a KS backer? is the main game install file for the Kickstarter versions of the game different from the install files of the non-kickstarter versions? Not much else outside of that would make any sense in explaining why KS backers get these things and non-ks backers don't.

  12. Nope. Obs is giving at least the 65 and 140 dollar tiers an extra digital copy, since the physical copy is being delayed. So it's intended.

That's awfully nice of them but where did they say this? Have I not been paying close enough attention to the last few updates? I don't remember this being mentioned anywhere that I recall.

EDIT: no idea why the quotation box is screwed.....it shows properly when I try to edit the post....

  13. I just noticed that under my rewards on the Backer Portal a second copy of the game was added....this is a Kickstarter Hero Edition....but why? As far as I am tracking my $140 physical CE edition only entitles me to one digital copy of the game....which I already got, a Kickstarter Royal Edition. I have not claimed any key from this so that if it is a mistake on Obsidian's part they can remove it from my Backer Portal without any harm done.

Has this happened to anyone else? Are certain tiers supposed to have two digital copies? I even checked the original Kickstarter page where it shows the tier picture and description but nowhere do I see that I'm supposed to have more than one digital copy of the game.

Anyone else notice this or know what's going on?

  14.

Was the Tiny Obsidian Wurm only for certain backer levels?

That's a Kickstarter exclusive item (plus a cloak apparently).

    Edit: to avoid later confusion:

The Tiny Obsidian Wurm was granted at levels $50 and higher.

Later backers like me (and also pre-orderers) just get the giant miniature space piglet and the ring of Gaun

A bit embarrased to say this but at the moment I don't have access to my gaming PC....temp work move....how do you access the Wurm and the cloak? On my GOG copy of the game I see the download for the main game, the two preorder items and the other non-in-game-goodies(wallpapers etc.)....nothing else. I am a backer from the original KS campaign at the $140 physical CE tier so I should qualify.

  15. Indeed.....my only regret is not having pledged more....at the time I had no idea Obsidian were in significant trouble and the general perception was that they were fairly stable and their existence was secure but wanted to give crowd-funding a shot in hopes of earning their independence from publishers. But I am very happy it all worked out and that right now the game seems to be having a very successful launch by killing all the sales charts.....even curb-stomping GTA V......GTA style.

  16. Well then that's settled. I have to say I did not expect to end up being in the clear definitive majority when I cast my vote and I am pleasantly surprised with the maturity of the people on this forum.....I was expecting to be in a meager 5% with a whole lot of people trying to compare their digital d***s by going to great lengths to emphasize how hardcore they are. But no, this is a forum full of decent individuals that can appreciate the writing in a game like this.....well done people, well done indeed.

  17. Indeed...by far the best KS-funded game yet!! Original Sin was ok but they botched pretty much every stretch goal and some backer rewards fell through, Wasteland 2 was good but backers were given a version of the game stripped of even the most basic bonuses of the regular retail edition....like wallpaper you could find via a google search...a version of the game that was never even sold at retail. Getting that fixed was an absolute nightmare after realizing that buying the Digital Deluxe upgrade still left you missing half the bonuses of the actual Digital Deluxe version of the game. Double Fine botched their funding and delivered half a game that might have been it if it hadn't earned enough at retail to produce the second half. Shadowrun had a huge DRM surprise mess going for a while when backers were told the expansion would be Steam-only so if you wanted DRM-free or GOG version you could just get lost....it was later rectified but still, huge mess.

PoE is the very first game to come out of KS that has everything on point....every stretch goal and backer reward and mega dungeon and so on.....they literally did not mess a single thing up and the game is beyond insanely amazing.

  18. I'm all about the story and the lore and that kind of stuff so fortunately easy mode can neutralize the annoyance that is combat so you can focus your skills on dialogue enhancing stuff like intelligence and perception and so on without having to cringe every time you have to drop a point into strength knowing it's basically wasted for the sole purpose of combat.....or at the very best intimidation that doesn't really give you new information about anything in the game.

With all that said to answer your question more directly I don't so much care for combat functionality or non dialogue-enhancing/lore skills and I find the Druid lore rather dull but Cyphers on the other hand are absolutely fascinating imo....especially when they also happen to be godlike.
