I made another pass at it, I think it turned out much better this time.

So I'd just want to pose my humblest of thanks for these portraits. I was planning on doing another run of the Pillars of Eternity series but struggled with the character creation a bit as I originally planned on using only default portraits because I though I won't easily find a set of custom portraits which would work with both PoE1 and Deadfire. Then after checking the default portraits I googled which one of the default portraits are officially supported by both games. Didn't find any info but somehow stumbled onto this site again and there on the one of most recent forum posts I find the portrait set I used on my previous Pillars of Eternity series playthrough. That's so cool though, like a sign! The original portraits I used previously was based on the same artwork/character but it was posted in another thread quite a long ago and finding it again would have been difficult to say the least.

So thanks again! Here I go again with this portrait set and playing as a Fire Priest of Magran, once more to the fray!

  2. I'm pretty far into the game (close to the point-of-no-return) and wonder, is there any Easy to miss quests in the game? It's a complex question and not an easy one to answer but I was thinking mainly are there any quests for example in Neketaka and other cities which are easy to miss if you just don't go to those areas? (for example inside buildings, in the Gullet text adventure area?).

I found a reddit post with this topic for the first Pillars of Eternity game but nothing for Deadfire. It was listing the easy to miss quests nicely by each Act in the game.

I bet it's a bit late to ask for this question but I'm just about to return to the game to finish the main quest and do the DLC's before it. I think I'm pretty much in the last "Act" of the game, just around the point where you choose how you'd like to finish the game.

  3. I hope they are able to make another Pillars of Eternity game in the future as I absolutely love the series even though I completely missed the crowdfunding efforts for both games. But Obsidian has got the legacy of Infinity Engine games just right with PoE and Deadfire. PoE was absolutely great and Deadfire eventually upgraded it although getting into the Pirate setting took quite a while.

But for the 3rd game I'd absolutely love it if it would be set in the Northern (?) icy regions of Eora, or in the area where the Pale Elves live. Thematically the game could be compared to Black Isle's Icewind Dale and IWD2, but with Obsidian's touch, of course. It's more actual now than ever as I just learned that it's "impossible" for Beamdog to remaster IWD2 as it's source code is lost.

Obsidian certainly has interest in IWD like setting as both PoE titles have had an expansion set in the icy regions. I bet there can be a lot more stories to tell in that setting. Also Rymrgrand has to be the most interesting Eoran God definitely. (Not played Beast of Winter yet, but will in the following days).

For example Rymrgrand could become corrupted or just mad and force the Native Pale Elves in the region go on a rampage or invade another area in the north. Then it would be up to the Watcher and his party to fix the situation once again. There could be a new NPC companion, a Pale Elf who is only half mad from Rymrgrand's corruption, the developers could have such great dialogue options with this kind of character. If player character would be a Pale Elf it wouldn't become corrupted as having been out of Rymrgrand's reach for a long time.

There could be a major city within a mountain, an underground area, land based exploration like in Deadfire but instead of a ship you'd have to upkeep your caravan of several vehicles to survive in the harsh environments. For a DLC expansion they could have it set in a completely different regions, which would be a real twist from the usual expansion set in the north.

Another setting would be Old Vailia, but would be difficult to make it work with current characters and importing save states from previous games. It would have to be a prequel, but it also has a huge opportunity to go full on Tyranny with the game with tons of dialogue and politics and intertwining storylines

Anyone want to recreate this? I know it's been done already and there's nothing wrong with that, but the previous version is only suitable for PoE 1 and unmodded Deadfire. With the Deadfire Enhanced companions mod the previous version of this portrait really stands out as having a different style especially in watercolour. I actually used it for PoE 1 but the watercolour style is just too different from modded Deadfire.

    You are lucky one.

I had made watercolor for this beautiful art a couple months ago by some request. And i still have it in my Portraits folder:

Please try to make it in the similar style as EVO_83's Enhanced companion portrait mod has in Nexusmods, with watercolour versions for conversations, if possible.

What I'm thinking the Watercolour versions of this have a different colour scheme, which is much more red tone than the yellow used in the mod and Deadfire, it just stands out a little bit too much.

  6. So I played through the first Pillars of Eternity by not knowing  pretty much anything about the world and the Gods and I acted pretty careless. I got the "worst ending" by betraying all of the Gods, pretty much.

So in PoE: Deadfire every single God seems to be annoyed by my character, I'd like to ask if it gets any better in the later game or in the DLC (Beast of Winter?), will I receive any kind of redemption in the end? (no major spoilers please)

The funniest part was that I was playing as a Priest in PoE as a Fire Priest sounded like a cool build and it was actually quite good. But still I managed to betray all the gods in the game you interact with!

  7. Actually tried the boss already with lower difficulty and without any Level Scaling and the Ewigthian Titan stayed as 3-Skull mob, however everything else in this area was also just as it was yesterday (Classic, Level Scaling on). So I'm either in the proper area at the supposed level or level scaling does nothing at all? The Titan boss was much easier on easier difficulty though, but it's just stupid to rush through the whole area on easy just because the Boss is too high level.

  8. I've been playing PoE2 for a while and it's been fairly easy on Normal difficulty with level scaling enabled to everything (not selected "Scale only upwards").

So with these settings, the game should bring down higher level enemies too right? However some of the early game bosses are really difficult, like the Grub Mother in Neketaka Ruins and now the Ewigthian Titan in the desert area. Both of these are 3-skull enemies when nearly everything else has been 0-1-skull.

I'm using Eder as Fighter tank, Pallegrina Paladin melee dps, Aloth as a wizard and Xoti and MC as Priest healers, no multiclassing. Characters are around lvl 7. The Titan boss is supposed to be lvl 11 according to the Wiki, which is still pretty high?

    Any tips?

  9. This should be in the PoE2 forum as it's for the sequel, obviously.

  10. I think it's a Planescape game.

I'd love to see that, but hmmm I an not getting a Planescape vibe from all of this.

What, not even "One day, you will wake up... The pain will be gone. Until then, all your waking hours are suffering"?

Pain... suffering... Torment. "Planescape: Eternity" anyone? :D

I'm putting money on the Kickstarted Planescape spiritual sequel. Literally.

Now how cool could this be..
