The Tactics Ogre game for the GBA was a lot of fun, but I think it's pretty hard to come by these days. This game was the reason I bought the GBA.
OMG Tactics Ogre and the other Ogre Battle games are awesome
I agree! Yeah, Tactics Ogre is pretty much my favourite console franchise. I think it deserves its own thread.
The game for the PS1 is still one of my favourite games EVAR. I just hope that the new Square-Enix doesn't forget about the Tactic Ogre/Ogre Battle franchise now that the two companies have melded into one. Last I checked, there were no upcoming plans for a new Ogre Series game .

Final Fantasy Tacics Advance was pretty good too.
I couldn't stand Fire Emblem.

I actually really enjoyed Kingdom Hearts, much to my suprise. Looking forward to part 2.

No, never played Gladius, but I think I'll be OK with the ring. We'll see. As long as the story is good, it'll keep me playing even if the battle ring gets on my nerves.
Soon as I'm finished with Front Mission 4, I'll be getting this game.

Hmmm...I'm going to have to give this game a try. I've seen the first one for dirt cheap at a few places, but I've always passed simply because I was worried I would hate that battle ring thing. But maybe I'll give it a go.

No order...
FFX
FF Tactics
Tactics Ogre
BG Series
FF3 (North America)
I like the Smackdown! games for the PS2 as well, but they're pretty hit-miss for me each year, and this year I wasn't impressed.

It's a stylistic thing. The stories are not at all childish and the games themselves are probably beyond most children.
I'll give you the stylistic thing..I suppose the actual stories themselves may not be totally childish but the way in which they are presented strikes me as sort of immature. Though that's just my take on it.
I disagree though that the games are beyong kids. Yeah, the games can get pretty deep with all the item combo possiblities etc etc but nowadays that's nothing for a 12-year old to pick up.
AND now listening to you two talk I'm wanting to give Phantom Brave a go again. Thanks a lot.

Goofy doesn't = childish
Maybe to you...to me having a party consisting of little kids making stupid sex jokes is both goofy and childish.
BUT I'll admit the focus of those games isn't so much the story but rather the actual gameplay, with all the leveling and items and all that.

I couldn't get in to Phantom Brave. I tried playing it twice, and stopped playing around the same time in both games, fairly early on. I still own the game, though; for some reason I can't bring myself to sell it quite yet...maybe I'll try it again.
I played La Pucelle Tactics right until the last fights, but haven't picked it up in awhile. The problem with me and Nippon Ichi games is they are just so childish. I know the majority of console games are geared towards a younger audience, but these games just go too far into the realm of goofy for my tastes.
I LOVE the tactical/strategy RPG genre, but I prefer the Tactics Ogre or Final Fantasy Tactics more serious style to the Nippon Ichi style.

Would it really be a suprise if they did shut down? After three insanely buggy, often poorly designed games, I'd say it's about time they went under.
You can only live off of the past and fanboy hype (TROIKA INVENTED TEH FALLOUT!!1!) for so long.

Xenosaga II is coming out soon, if you consider that a rpg.
Yay! The PC snobs won't like it, but I've been looking forward to this game for awhile.

Baldur's Gate, no question.

Millenium. Man I miss that show...

You suck.

Sounds like a George Lucas name all right.

I am so disappointed with Obsidian. I thought they were do something that would be worthwhile and not a Bioware-hand-me-down. Oh well. I guess they aren't up to the task of making something original.
Yes, a fledgling company starting out with a powerhouse, name-brand license. Whatever were they thinking?
We all know in Visceris Land devs don't need MONEY to run their company. It's just as simple as snapping your fingers and voila! you've got all the resources necessary to make an original RPG setting from scratch.
LOL.
And you write for the gaming industry? That's kind of scary, considering you appear to be one of the most uninformed, naive gamers around. Oh well.

These aren't funny anymore (were they ever?).

I would love to see a QUALITY D&D CRPG.
Set it in the Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, that new WoTC setting...I don't care. As long as it's a well-made, well-told game I'm all over it. I'll always have a soft spot for D&D.

Man, they need to cancel Smallville before cancelling Angel. They are doing something stupid if they cancel Angel. Its the second best show on right now.
Of course this begs the question ... what's the first?
LOL my morbid curiosity is getting the best of me, as well. What is Visceris' favourite TV show?

I just click the dev's profile and search for all his posts. That seems to work fine.

smart AI has been the buzzword for the last generation of RPGs at least.
But has it been implemented.
No.

the setting for obsidians next rpg is obviously in star wars.
U R SMRT

Sci-fi would be quite nice, though I wouldn't be too upset if somebody could make a quality D&D CRPG.
GBA anyone?

Seriously? That's awesome news. I hope you're right.
