  1. Alpha Protocol should have allowed you to play a female agent. One of its larger offenses in my opinion.

relationship between let's say Michelle and Heck/Madeleine would have been way different than the ones those charachters have with Michael.

Well of course. Purely cosmetic gender is a necessary evil sometimes, but an evil nonetheless. Though a lesser evil than mono gender. If you can define so little about a character then you have a movie that requires the audience to wind the projector to keep it running.

I'm just wondering why you care so much, these are the characters in the game, you dont have to be a man to choose the male characters, and you don't need to be a woman to choose the female characters. It's like saying you're not going to watch a movie because the main character is a guy... cmon seriously?

  2. No selection of even Gender?

I don't think its very good in a game that someone should have to pick a sex they are uncomfortable with to experience the whole game.

I don't want to have to play some dude to get sword and board.

Probably a similar story for other people.

People (meaning me) are familiar with games like World of Warcraft where theres no separation of classes based on what bits they have, and customization is a really important part of RPGs.

I can't justify $60 for the two out of four classes i'll play. I guess I have to wait for bargain bin..

so you want a female named Lucas?

These are preset characters with names and background storys. This isn't Diablo or World of Warcraft. Get over it!

  3. Either way, I like achievements. Rather it be lame or great. This game is cool and if my laptop can play it, then I will get it. I am boycotting Diablo 3 after all because of it's satanic theme and name. And yes I know DS3 is a lil bad too, but it's a lil better than way demonic.

Boycotting quite possibly the greatest game of all time because of it's name is probably not the best idea.

  4. Guys guys guys, everybody likes boobs, guys like boobs, girls like boobs, there have been studies shown that staring at boobs as opposed to looking away actually makes you a healthier person. So let's get over it... no one wants to play with realistic people, unless the game is specifically supposed to be real every character is usually exadurated in different ways. It's what makes characters intresting. If you got a problem with jiggle physics objectifying woman, you are really looking waay to far into a video game!

  5. I read the latest preview posted by funcrocs: http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/rpg/dungeonsie...p;mode=previews

In the previews, it was mentioned that players could still control up to 4 heroes. I'm not entirely sure how it would end up playing in single player. My guesses are players could only control ANY one character at a time and would be able to switch to any character anytime and the rest are controlled by AI.

If that is the case, i will not be particular happy as i tend to play alot of single-player. AI are mostly dumb. They won't be effective when you are not manually controlling them and if they are too good it makes the player character useless. I like a little more teaser on how this will be managed. I would still prefer a one party character but that will not be a Dungeon Siege game anymore since it has always been a party-based hack and slash action RPG.

Also, i like to know how many total characters can we choose from? A total of 5 would be my best preference. Do we have a dual-wielding rogue character? A sword and shield paladin? Guess that would be Lucas.

from everything i've watched and read, I've come to the conclusion that there are no AI players running around, you control one of 4 heroes (only 2 have been announced) If someone else joins your game they join the game as one of the other heroes. If you are just playing by yourself only one hero is present in the game and the other 3 heroes are lying dormant somewhere. I'm not 100% sure about this but at least a good 95%

This is not correct. There's another AI player running around with you in SP.

Ok well thanks for correcting me, I swear I saw a few videos where Lucas was just playing by himself though. Maybe it was just before he met any of his buddies.

  6. I just reread the cheatcc preview. Thats a very interesting part
Any of the four playable characters can accompany you on your journey after they have joined your fellowship during the main campaign. Companions will then be controlled by the game apostrophe s AI, and will use abilities according to how you've handled their leveling. If Anjali is more adept at her acrobatic skills and you've boosted her melee damage, then she may use that more often against her foes than transforming into her fire-spirit form for magical attacks.

This is true. We also keep our co-op revival mechanic in single player (basically, you have to run over and help your buddy get up for a couple seconds without getting hit) and the AI will help you get back in the fight if you die. If they manage to get to you (which can be VERY hard on higher difficulties :sorcerer: )

if two players are starting a co-op game from the start, can the second player choose from any of the 3 remaining characters right off the bat (after the first player chooses)

  7. Wonder if great games refers to something else too.. :w00t:

But meh, could also refer to the other games they've already developed, I guess.

They also viewed Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Maybe Square did it at Obsidian too?

But he probably means their past games.

This sounds exciting! I can't wait to hear all the details about co-op. and I'm glad to hear he's obsessing over collecting loot! All signs point to this game being amazing!

  9. Digital Right Management. For example: If Dungeon Siege 3 will use Steamworks, you must create an online account during the installation (if you have not one account already). The game (Dungeon Siege 3) will be tied to the online account forever. Henceforward you can download the game as often as you like.

So why is that a problem? Because people can't download it illegaly? It doesn't really concern me because I plan on getting the PS3 version of the game.

  10. Hey everyone, I just want to know if anyone has any information on whether there will be a collector's edition for DSIII. I placed my pre-order yesterday and was suprised when it was just $59.99 CAD. It left me wondering if there is a collector's edition or not. This is probably my most anticipated game this year and I really hope there's gonna be a CE with some nice in-game content!! :shifty:

  11. I have come to the conclusion that the multi-player is going to be awesome, all 4 companions in the party will be leveling up and getting gear so in theory if you only want to play with your friend, you start a game and never play by yourself or with anyone else, both players will experience everything the game has to offer to it's fullest extent. I was worried about multi-player for awhile cause I really want to be able to play this game with my wife but now that i've thought about it more I have complete faith that it is going to be a great experience for both of us!

It only works if you play from the start to the end in co-op, always!!

It wont work if you decide to jump in your friend game, cause you wont be able to use your own character with your own gear etc.

ya, well I'm ok with that as the main reason I'm excited about this game is because I'll get to play it with my wife. (which means no one will be nagging at me to pay attention to them instead of my game haha)
