  1. Well I pretty much cancelled my pre-order and chose to buy Brink instead. It seems to me atleast Obsidian has made the decision to make story > gameplay and has made this into a single player game. Sure it has co-op and online but what is the point in playing with people if you can't even keep your characters. Sorry but I been a player of the previous franchises for years and what Obsidian has done to the Dungeon Siege franchise is not what the franchise is all about. They should of made their own ip for these story>gameplay ideas instead of changing a winning forumla that has worked great for the franchise for many years. It makes me wonder if they even played the previous games when they released.

  2. Don't people find it odd that there is oficially less than 2 months until release and still we have no clear cut picture of multiplayer. All we have had so far is single player and local coop. It just makes me think that something within the multiplayer experience players are not going to be happy about.

It'd be good to clear it up true but it looks like no multiplayer outside Co-Op, at least that's how I read things. Basically DS3 is 4 solo play characters with a Co-Op option to boost (re)playability. Equipment is character based not class based so how could multiplayer work? They'd need to have a totally different multiplayer system.

I would have to agree with you on that. If it turns out there is no online multiplayer then so be it, just hoping Obsidian makes a good game for everyone to enjoy.

  4. I very rarely pre-order games but since I am a big Dungeon Siege fan I am going to give Obsidian the benefit of the doubt here, I pre-oreded Dungeon Siege 3 for the 360 today. So I am going to lay faith in you guys to deliver us a good story, with fun combat and with alot of loot for us to find. Can't wait to play!

  5. So you can share loot and xp in multiplayer which is good but can't play the same characters as others. I can live with that but I have a question. What happens if 2 people play a multiplayer game and lets say finish the first part of the game, how am I am I able to join up with them if I am starting from the beginning ? Will it be that you can only join multiplayer games with other people that are at the same point in the story as you ? Ofcourse other than making your own multiplayer game.

  6. This is a little disappointing. I was hoping to play with my friends online together while all of us get xp, loot and advance in the story together like Dungeon Siege has always been. Why change things just because it is the easier thing to do. Atleast tell us we can customize our companions the way we want ? Will there be harder difficulty modes so we can get better loot ?

  7. The previous games were published by Microsoft do I doubt it will be on Steam.

Oh no, it has been announced already, the pre-order bonus on Steam will be the first two games for free :p .

A part of me wants to play it ont he PS3 because it will be new on that platform but the other half wants to take in better graphics. Still deciding!

  8. Looks like it's definitely going more action-y than NWN2. I don't know if there's going to be any kind of AI system to direct characters, but it's going to be fairly difficult to control more than one character at a time, given that the gameplay is far twitchier.

EDIT: There's not much info to base myself on right now, but I'm fairly sure you'll get to mess with the other characters inventories too, given that the inventory is shared and every character has unique armor/equipment anyway.

Correct. It would be very difficult to control many different characters, especially using a console controller.

Sounds more like what Bioware does with Dragon Age or Mass Effect which is not a bad thing but I was kind of hoping to loot and share xp with friends instead of AI. No point of multiplayer if you can't share the xperience with friends but we'll see when they announce the multiplayer features.

  9. Ok Obsidian, you need to use the original music theme in Dungeon Siege for Dungeon Siege 3. It just is one fo those nostalgic things that people love about Dungeon Siege. When I am adventuring in the world of Ehb I want to hear that music and get that awesome feeling back. I say do it for the fans and yes ofcourse, for yours truely! >_<

  10. I've pretty much gathered this on other reviews too... This might be changed later, however. Obsidian hasn't commented on their multiplayer plans too much, and the reviewers DID play a pre-alpha version, so multiplayer might not have been in place 100%. My hope is that they will not only allow other players to get EXP in multiplayer, but will also allow players to play as characters they create. As I've said in another post, I think it would be the worst idea ever to limit multiplayer the same way Fable 2 did... Especially on a RPG series that has some of the best multiplayer for the genre (my opinion at least, hehe). No one wants to play as a lackey. =P That being said, however, Obsidian has said from the beginning that they planned on making this a great multiplayer title. Here's hoping they deliver on that. =)

YES!! Fable 2 is the only game I know that it is better playing alone than co-op.

It seems Obsidian is doing the same with DS3. I can
