  1. A friend and I tried this little online personality test. Unlike most of the "fun" ones out there, this one was almost spooky in how close it got to a lot of things about us.

    http://www.16personalities.com/

    On their website they claim:

"Take our Personality Test and get a 'freakishly accurate' description of who you are and why you do things the way you do."

Well, it was freakishly accurate (you do need to be honest though in your answers) wink.png

It labelled me "Logician". Never heard that before, but the details fits like a hand in glove.

    So, who are you?

    Personality: ISFP ("The Adventurer")

    Variant: Turbulent

    Role: Explorer

    Strategy: Constant Improvement

I call bollocks, did the test twice, and I got the same result, with a few percentage points difference on the scales. The accuracy of the test results seem to be on the same level as actual horoscopes.

  2. You sound like my mailman!  Look at the pic, 4 20's. You're welcome.  happy0203.gif

You need to see the good in everything, sounds like one hell of a cardio workout, and you get paid for it too.

    That poor, poor, bastard! :<

My arms scream in fear, pain and horror at the sight!

It is one hell of a workout, every day I come home sweaty and tired to the bones. Don't know if I've improved anything yet, since I always make sure to keep up the pace, but I did something I have'nt done in many years. Tightened the belt another notch :p

  3. Had the most hectic day at work yet, started out awful with me having to unload a trailer full of sports goods, wich was supposed to be unloaded via forklift, but we had to do it by hand. Did get some help halfway through it though, because they had an acute lack of trailers to fill with outgoing goods. By that time I was unloading a EUR-pallet with mostly 20Kg weights, stacked nearly chest high. That was a metric ****tonne of "pita".

And then it went south after that.

  4. EDIT: Here's a neat question: What religion would you like to be true?

    Pastafarianism.

The Eight "I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts"
    1. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Act Like A Sanctimonious, Holier-Than-Thou Ass When Describing My Noodly Goodness. If some people don't believe in me, that's okay. Really. I'm not that vain. Besides, this isn't about them so don't change the subject. OK?
    2. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Use My Existence As A Means To Oppress, Subjugate, Punish, Eviscerate, And/Or, You Know, Be Mean To Others. I don't require sacrifices and purity is for drinking water, not people.
    3. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Judge People For The Way They Look, Or How They Dress, Or The Way They Talk, Or, Well, Just Play Nice, Okay? Oh, and get this in your thick heads: Woman = Person. Man = Person. Samey-Samey. One is not better than the other, unless we're talking about fashion. Then, I'm sorry, but I gave that to women and some guys who know the difference between teal and fuchsia.
    4. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Indulge In Conduct That Offends Yourself, Or Your Willing, Consenting Partner Of Legal Age AND Mental Maturity. As for anyone who might object, I think the expression is, " Go f*** yourself," Unless they find that offensive in which case they can turn off the TV for once and go for a walk for a change.
    5. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Challenge The Bigoted, Misogynist, Hateful Ideas Of Others On An Empty Stomach. Eat, Then, go after the B******.
    6. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Build Multimillion-Dollar Churches/ Temples/Mosques/Shrines To My Noodly Goodness When The Money Could Be Better Spent (take your pick); Ending Poverty, Curing Diseases, Living In Peace, Loving With Passion, And Lowering The Cost Of Cable. I might be a complex-carbohydrate, omniscient being, But I enjoy the simple things in life. I ought to know. I AM the Creator.
    7. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Go Around Telling People I Talk To You. You're not that interesting. Get over yourself. And, I told you to love your fellow man. Can't you take a hint?
    8. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You If You Are Into, Um, Stuff That Uses A Lot Of Leather/Lubricant/Las Vegas. If the other person is into it, however (Pursuant To #4), then have at it. Take Pictures.  But for the love of Mike, wear A CONDOM! Honestly, it's a piece of rubber. If I didn't want it to feel good when you did it, I would have added spikes or something.

    R'amen.

  5. Indeed! =)

    By the way, quote from one of the funniest movies ever, that I can't link to or reference here;

"It's the ship that made the Kessel run in less than twelve parsecs!"

"Th...that does'nt even make sence, parsec measures distance, not time!"

  6. I really hate being hearing impaired right now.

My boss offered me a job position with responsibilities for overseeing the unloading part of the workplace, problem is that I'd have to communicate with a walkie-talkie to the people moving the trailers, and I am absolutely hopeless at hearing what is said through it. Even worse, there is no chance at all for me to understand what is said if there is an accent on the other end.

It would'nt have given me any extra money - but I'd be able to get some extra hours and increases the chance to get a full time employment.

Still; Did get praise from my boss, wich is nice.

  7. Thats actually a pretty cool device. Can you use it on bald people and lift them around?   w00t.gif

    tobey-maguire-funny-face.jpg       Roooosbjerg?!

Ok, then just focus on the most important things, keep back straight and brace your core. The latter is really important and makes all the difference, you inhale, hold your breath, push your belly out and flex it really hard. Then you keep it like that while you lift, it makes the mid section of your body like a solid pillar and protects your back and spine from bending or excessive stress.

Belly (abs & obliques) is very important for the back. Thats the reason why weight lifters use lifting belts, they're basically a surface for the belly to push against so there is more pressure and mid section becomes even more stable thus more weight can be lifted.  (Thats also the reason why serious natural weight lifters have slightly protruding bellies, its not fat but all protruding abs from core bracing - but don't worry, that only happens from lifts in the several hundred kilos area.)

Try it out, it makes a HUGE difference.

Thanks! I'll take that to heart and start practicing it. :)

I'd rather have some sore muscles than **** up my back again, once was painful enough.

Hehe, I'll be honest, I did think those lifters were a bit pudgy when I saw that

  8. If you don't have your feet pointing slightly outwards your knees tend to tilt towards each other (you have legs like an X) which creates a lot of wear and tear at the joints and especially ligaments. I do deadlifts in the 220-250kg area so I do need to know a lot about how to pick up heavy stuff without grinding my joints to dust or ruining my back. You might not be lifting objects as heavy as that, but if you lift parcels several dozen times a day it totally adds up.

If you eventually get your ''how to lift properly''-briefing post it, I'm interested in what they're suggesting.

I can imagine the risks are high especially with those weights, the footworks should'nt be much of a problem for me though that I should pick up pretty quickly. More worried about what you said about looking downwards. The biggest danger is the small and massive packages, they will catch you with your pants down. Slightly bigger than 5 DVD cases stacked together and weighs 20kgs seemingly. tongue.png

Sure thing, I'll do that. The only thing they've said so far is "Use the vaculex". Problem is it makes an awful racket and it's slow. When you're also told you're expected to move 600 packages an hour you don't have the time for it.

  9. I don't think they can slip a 120kg parcel by us, 60kg is already pushing it we're not supposed to handle more than 35kg's :p

So am I! Granted, we have'nt had a really tumultuous day yet, but the pace is high and there is alot of lifting and pushing involved. My head is taking the hardest blows in there, all the machinery is creating this relatively high ambient noise level that does give you one hell of a headache.

We are supposed to get a lecture in how to lift correctly, but somehow we still have'nt gotten to that yet. They did manage to produce the contract today after asking about it all week :p

Did not know about the positioning of your feet or looking at the object being lifted though, I'll try and keep that in mind. Going to be extremely difficult to not look at the object though, I have to keep my eyes on it or I'll hit the sides of the cages.

Edit; I have to admit to feeling like a **** alot of the time though, there are alot of immigrants at my workplace and I can't understand more than 25% of the words they say. ****ing hearing impairment. :/

  10. Finished my first week at the new job, I feel surprisingly fine considering my overall fitness. Alot of soreness ofcourse.

Had my first nasty shock when I was going to lift a big package marked "0.0 KG" (Happens alot, surprising amount of airy things being shipped around) that turned out to contain 60kg's of weights... I actually managed to lift it! :p

  11. I love it too, a very technical track with its legendary corkscrew corner. What I love the most about it is that it has a lot of vertical variation and tight corners - compared to the Formula 1 tracks which are perfectly flat and have runoff zones that are almost wide as the track itself, which is silly and boring.

I don't mind the runoffs, but I do agree on the vertical parts, another track I really like - in sims especially - is the Belgian track, with that sweeping right uphill corner that crests into a left. Can't remember the name though =/

I'd rather something like this never happens again

  12. Wow, if you work 9 hours / day and add 4 hours of train / bus you're really cutting deep into your life. And if work is so far away it must pay really well because if you consider getting there by car the gas will add up big time.

    Good luck!

    Thanks :)

Paying for petrol will be more expensive, but I can get tax deduction because of the distance and that money will be worth it, since I will cut my travel time down to 90 minutes a day. And no 5 mile hike ;)

The work hours are variable, because of said overtime. But it's a minimum of 5 hours a day, up to 8 hours iirc. The pay is ~2200€ a month, if I work 40h/week.

At my previous employer I earned roughly 200 euros a month working 2.6h/week, but the hours are limited between 0200am and 0600am, wich usually means that you work 2-4 hours a night. Ends up at about 1300€, but alot of free time. Now I'm going to be working on the afternoon until night time - so bye, bye social life.

  13. Going to start my new job tomorrow, really looking forward to three to four hours of bus and trainrides that I'm going to have to take to get to and from work. On days when there's forced overtime (Wich is 99% guaranteed around christmas) I'm also going to have to walk from the train station home. A five mile hike at night in winter is going to wear at me pretty badly after hauling boxes for five hours.

I hope I can manage to get a drivers licence during these coming months, or I'm going to have to quit. When the travel time is as bad as it is, I'm not going to be able to accept more working hours either.

I was hoping on getting a full job at my former employer, but there was risk that there would'nt be one available, though I have a feeling I'm going to regret this choice more.
