I've tried running the exe directly, as well as the main-win64-shipping.exe it refers to and get this error each time:
*edit: My best guess at this point, is that it doesn't like the fact that I have 3 monitors connected.
I have also searched through every folder below the install folder. advapi32.dll is not located in any of these.
**edit2: Going through their support site.
Their windows support link (https://support.xbox.com/help/subscriptions-billing/buy-games-apps/buy-and-install-xbox-games-on-windows-10) gives the below result also. Not very encouraging thus far.
Hey, what happened to this page?
It may have a new location or may not be available anymore. Try this:
- Start again from the home page
- Make sure you typed the URL correctly
-
Just bought via steam.
-d/l
-Installed
-click play
-Running
-1 sec later, button changes back to play as if nothing happened
-repeat 3x
-verify game files = ok
Verify system req.
AMD fx 8350 8-core 64b
Win 7 64b SP1+
32G ram
4tb+ HDD space
GTX 1070ti
no interfering programs
So... As the developer suggests, the fellow player base should be able to help resolve this issue.
Solutions?
Currently the first I recieved was: Refund.
Sadly, here is a link to my negative steam review:

wont let me load game

1: typo 2: wakeup call to devs
Same problem. Just bought the game via Steam, that has been out since Jul 28th 2020.
Clicking play cause screen to flicker for an instant (so fast the play button doesn't have time to change to 'running' visually) and nothing.
I decided to browse the local files and run 'Grounded.exe' directly as an Administrator.
Yields the following error:
Main-Win64-Shipping.exe - Entry Point Not Found
"The procedure entry point EventSetInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.dll"
I searched all sub-folders of the steam install directory. I could not locate this file there. Maybe that's why it can't find the entry point?
I have also sent a message via the portal, got the reply email. I'd give you a ticket or reference number, but your response email contains none.
edit2: I just discovered I bought this once 5 months ago. It was doing the same thing and had to refund it. FIVE MONTHS later, and it's still doing the same thing? This speaks volumes and I've updated my curator review to reflect this lapse in fixing something 5 months old that prevents someone from even launching the game, let alone playing it.
