  1. New character reveal: Fenris

Once slave to a Tevinter magister, Fenris was altered: lyrium was burned into his flesh, its magic both stripping his memory as well as changing him forever. He became a living weapon, and eventually used his power to escape his chains. Now he finds himself in a strange land with no friends

  2. A beginning of a new trend?

Gamers who download upcoming PC exclusive The Witcher 2 illegally could receive a letter demanding they pay a fine or face legal action.

If gamers refuse to pay the fine, which will be more than the cost of the game, they could end up in court, developer CD Projekt told Eurogamer.

From a global perspective, pira people can't afford games at that price point. Because they are poor, or are children, or live in countries where the minimum wage is much less than 500$.

PC gamers must be the poorest people in the world.

Every year there are millions of new computers sold with dedicated graphic cards and yet software sales stagnate or are slowly sinking. PC piracy rate is estimated at around 90%

  3. Well, Strikeforce is an obvious port from the PSP. They didn't even try to change it to take more advantage of the PS3 hardware. So the game has loading screens a-plenty and doesn't look very good when put on a larger screen. As to DW6:E, well... unless you pick one of the "ruler" characters, you're basically playing an infinitely generated version of story mode as you're given instructions by your ruler about what to do and where to attack, rather than before where you did it all yourself.

Yeah, Nobunaga was definitely shoe-horned in simply to please the fanbase. I mean even by the games loose standards he's dead and buried at this point.

I think you are right. I tried to like the demo but it doesn't make a good impression with godawful aliasing and pop-in everywhere coupled with tiny maps. As for Empires, well I have got no problem with that and besides it's cheap. Still I wonder if it makes sense now with DW7 slated for March 2011 euro release.

Anyway in the end I got Nier. At first glance it looks ok, except some poor texture filtering and shadow map resolution. IIRC Nier was originally a X360 exclusive.

    uh... neither? Both are horrible.

Ieyasu seems hard... until you figure out that one of his special abilities (R2 and square I think) you keep mashing square and it goes into a combo string until he's keeping 40 guys afloat with just his fists. Of course, i'll always have a soft spot for him because he gave me a 5k combo (Used his L2 hold ability as big as it could get, on probably 100 guys... and it knocked out a base commander at the same time).

    In what way?

I know what you mean, nevertheless he didn't really amaze me. Ieyasu reminds me of Liu Bei as well.

Unlocked Nobunaga and kicked both Mitsunari's and Ieyasu's asses in the final stage. I have a feeling Nobunaga was shoehorned into the game as a playable character at the last moment.

  5. I like Ieyasu's attack chains better than Mitsunari's meself.

Out of all characters I played so far I think I dislike Ieyasu the most.

Now I'm finishing story paths with Oichi, she is a juggernaut

I will probably get DW6: Empires or DW: Strikeforce soon, I'm not sure which one to pick.

  6. Dusted off my PS3 and downloaded Hokuto Mousou and Sengoku Basara demos yesterday. I expected HM to be a little more engaging, gameplay just feels too slow and clunky. Nice effect though, Omega Force finally discovered next-gem. A-****ing-mazing.

There is a review of JP version @ Koeiwarriors saying that the final version of HM is quite light on content but with lots of DLC. Bad Koei, bad.

Now Sengoku Basara demo was quite a surprise, bought a copy immediately. So far I have cleared first story mode with Mitsunari. SB is a joy to play and for a Wii->PS3 port it looks great plus it's 720p/60.

Did they ever get the game to work with ATI cards? I might give it another go if it's been fixed (got it for cheap and then found out it was buggy as hell on my system). :brows:

There is a working patch for ATi users. However I remember reading it had some issues.

  8. Finished the infamous indie-game Vampire Hunters. Not sure what the heck it was actually about (it's apparently the sequel to another game I could not find).

IIRC the game was initially called Vampire Story, later it was renamed to Vampire World and released in Russia and Germany. Vampire Hunters is the name of english release.

Wood, ore, crystals and the rest is where?

    Next Edit:

    And a trailer

    HOMMVI Trailer

Black Hole Entertainment? Nice, while I found Mark of Chaos rather average, expansion pack (Battle March) was brilliant.

    How do you like it?
Personally I like the new art direction, that's simillar to Heroes V but at the same time less cartoonish and I think a little bit darker.

    Indeed.

Any words on the DRM? :teehee:

Yeah and the amusing thing is Ubisoft changed DRM in Heroes 5 from Starforce to Securom after fans protested

  10. The new info in general doesn't say much, but what exactly does more dynamic action mean? More animations? more combat-moves? more skills that will results in the previous two points? What?

:shrugz: I think there will be greater changes than that.

You know, if Alpha Protocol can be ripped for graphics when it looked better than DA:O, this better be completely slaughtered for looking worse than DA:O.

It is made by Bioware. Even if those screens were final, DA2 reviews would be praising the graphics.
