Now that I think about it, Unreal 1's save system worked pretty well: you either lost 0 HP in a fight, or were barely alive after it, so frequent saves after every enemy was justified.

What the hell do you care if the guy next door saves after every headshot? It encourages metagaming, holy crap. There's no multiplayer, you won't have any disadvantages. You don't even see them playing, so it won't annoy you. You're not forced to look at GameFAQ or whatever walkthroughs. You don't like metagaming, but you don't have a problem with telling other people how they're supposed to play their game?

What if you have sex with your girlfriend, but you pretend you're raping her, and she pretends too?Then it's not rape anymore.Then it's pretending. She won't get a severe trauma, and she wants it too, so there's nothing wrong with it. Weird maybe, but that's their business.

Well I remember devs saying that those checkpoints are frequent so you won't have to repeat sections a lot like in Resident Evil. I myself like checkpoints, it's more exciting when you cannot quick load after you die in a game and return to where you have been 5 secs ago.
You will be missing quite a good game, but hey it's not my money. Besides on E3 OBS showed the console version of Alpha Protocol, I have a feeling that they will add a quicksave for PC version of the game.
If I were you I'd wait for a definite answer, maybe devs will respond.

That wouldn't be bad actually. If, for some reason, you don't have enough time to push that Enter, and your choice would've been different than what you used last time..so yeah.

I don't mind knowing if I have every available info on someone or not. Besides, it's a single player game, let them meta-play in their house, on their computer with their copy if they want to.

Yeah. If you take a look at the dev walk through, when Mike sneaks up behind an enemy, the screen writes press A for lethal or b for non-lethal, or something like that.
