Started playing BG:EE as I never finished BG so long ago. It made me remember how much I disliked AD&D's ruleset, enhancements are pretty good however.

I've been reading up on Node.JS lately, about to start a personal project with it as the server side architecture. Should be fun. I'm going to build up more experience and start job hunting for web development opportunities.

I emailed a recruiter for a company that I interviewed with a couple weeks ago (that a close IRL friend works at). Well did I make the cut or not?!
Also it's been quite a while since I posted here, how're you all doing?

End of an era. I hope he continues to write/design for cRPGs and I wish him the best of luck in whatever he decides to do.

These decisions to replace local tech workers with cheap foreign labor tend to be reversed a couple years later when the "talent" turns out to lack the advertised skills and project managers start getting fired for missed deadlines.
It used to happen a lot in the early 2000's, nothing new here.

One thing the Bethesda games do well, IMO, is create an atmosphere. Walking through a burned out building at twilight, rifle at the ready, with Galaxy News Radio in the background made up for a lot of weaknesses in the story as far as I was concerned.
Atmosphere and level design are Bethesda's strong suit. The less words that are used, the better their stories tend to be.
It baffles me to no end how the same studio that produces the TES series (which have mountains of lore and backstories) can't seem to write a compelling or (at times) even coherent main plot.

Unreal 4 ... probably should upgrade the 7850 by the time this comes out.
Please, no more super fantastic Kickstarters, people, I need to eat, too.
I'm wondering why they're going with UE4 instead of Unity like the previous kickstarted games.
Not sure if I'll be backing this as I have no experience with any of the Bard's Tale games.

Was a good day, Arsenal winning the FA Cup easily, then our garage door opener broke. New one on Tuesday, now to improve a lock so no one can open it from the outside
Yeah that was a good game, personally I'm still glad to see that Chelsea came first in the premier league.

Yeah, game companies have been trying to take the Chinese gold farmers' revenue for themselves for years now.
Yes and no. Where they couldn't feasibly sell in-game currency for themselves (due to balance or fan backlash) they seem to just lower the real-money value by making it easier to obtain in-game.

Please don't let Deus Ex end up like Thie4f and absolution. I still don't understand how a studio that made one of my favorite games of the past decade pump out two mediocre titles.

This whole post, especially the Isis and nazi comparison.

Obsidian will ignore this one. Just like they SHOULD have ignored the last one. We all learn through our mistakes, Obsidian included.

Why are feminists actively involved in this? What has this got to do with feminism? Some belief that men like to see children murdered and women don't?
Something something patriarchy.
Radfem bloggers don't have the drive or mental capacity to pull off any act of terrorism.Feminists = ISIS

A lot of people sponsored FemFreq a few years ago, doesn't mean they agree with her or are satisfied with how the resulting videos have turned out.

Yeah it's ghastly when people express an opinion, isn't it?
The issue is not the expression of an opinion. The issue is catering to nutjobs and caving to what amounts to nothing short of soft terrorism.
They didn't 'cave,' and they won't change this quest.
If anything thanks to the mod you get both epitaphs, so in reality twitter warriors lost.

Yeah they never fixed that and the overall speed issue in SOTFS. In DSII I just limited the fps to 30fps using dxtory, but in scholar it crashes when I run it. So essentially I'm stuck using the old DSII.

Scholar of the First Sin
I can't believe I paid money for something that essentially is a patch.

There once was an idiot on twitter
Who's perspective was sour and bitter
She saw a joke in-game
Oh god the feels and pain
Disputes give Obsidian the jitters
... yeah that's all I got.

Starting new job tomorrow. From reading some of the material they sent I think I'm wading into some deep water. Pun intended.
Always fun and nerve racking going into work on the first day, good luck!
Speaking of work, just found out I'm going full time at my job (software eng at a small startup) towards the end of April.

I'm just avoiding Raedric's hold for now, equipping items by clicking and dropping them onto the slot instead of double clicking.
I'm not playing a rogue or ranger at the moment so the bug doesn't affect me atm.
AA is not a big deal for me. So I'm continuing to enjoy the game while waiting for the patch to arrive..Hopefully soon!
I'm avoiding Raedric's as well but unfortunately I've double-clicked armor before having the bug come to my attention

Please don't negotiate with terrorists Obsidian, once you cave in, they will ask you to remove *more* offensive (to them) stuffs.
And there are lots of offensive stuffs in darker parts of PE.
I understand your view but calling people who want the poem removed "terrorists" just seems like that's stretching it a bit.

I respect your right to rest-spam. Really, I do! Nothing wrong with deciding that resting in dungeons doesn't bother you, and allotting a little bit more of your adventuring budget to camping supplies. But pllllleeeeaaase don't call this game a cakewalk if you're camping every 3-5 encounters.
Well how else would you do it? If you're like me and you have three casters in your party (druid, wizard, priest), not resting when needed leaves you with party members (specifically the wizard and druid) that can't perform their group roles to their full capability.

I really don't want this to turn into yet another "GamerGate vs FemenistFrequency" internet war, but damning if true.
What does GamerGate have to do with this? This is about some "feminists" getting ultra offended at nothing at all and making things up to get attention. The ususl bullsnot.
From what I understand that's the usual GG line of thinking: "random internet feminist offended at something video game related? It must be some conspiracy that Anita Sarkessian concocted!"
Though I agree it doesn't add anything substantial to the conversation.

Did you really have to quote their post - image and everything? Talk about wasting vertical screenspace...
Fixed just for you

Never underestimate the technical ineptitude of grandma.
Anyways got snowed in today so I remoted into work and attempted to be somewhat productive. Took periodic breaks to do the neighborly thing and shovel the walk leading from my apartment.
