  1. I think there would be a pretty huge disconnect for me if I had to play as a female. In RPG's, the player I create is the fantasy extension of "me" and my ideals. Thats why I always play as a "good" character (cant connect with the evil/jerk options). Also, I dont get any jollies from looking at a pixelated bum nor would I want to explore a romance with a male NPC. *projectile vomits* Maybe that makes me not such a good rpg-er but I can definately understand why a female wouldnt want to be forced to roleplay a male.

I feel this way, pretty much. When I can play a female character, I actually identify with her... sort of "become" her... and transfer my thoughts, feelings, and actions to her. When forced to play a male character, I can't identify with him and don't ever feel I "am" him. It's rather like sitting on his shoulder and watching him run around the world doing his thing, but not really emotionally invested in whether he succeeds or not.

  2. I know I find it a lot harder to connect to male characters, but at the same time, I don't like the weirdness that comes from having party members with little to no function once romantic options are removed...

What chick could *ever* stand Bastila (even if her "function" wasn't completely removed)? And to hear some guys complain about Carth & Atton you'd think they were being tortured or something to have to play with them. Not to mention, we girls always have our story lines highly mangled and unfinished... whee.

I, for one, could not stand her.... until I played through as a male, then I saw her in a totally different light. I still don't like her that much, but I don't despise her anymore.

  3. By crush do you mean girl who's looked at me and gone "I'd **** that."? Buggered if I know who the first was, but there's been several, or so I've been told. Of course, I'm completely oblivious to this, because I've always thought that when a girl has been too nice to me, they're just trying to make it impossible for me to hate everyone, but that hasn't worked thus far! And I do look pretty ****in' girly, which girls seem to find sexy, so that helps the crush 'cause. Women are pretty gay, really.

Not all girls find girly men sexy...

  4. Assuming you under a windows system

Use TalkEd to read tlk files, you'll find it here.

And here's where you can find the tlk files themselves.

You'll probably need winrar to decompress them.

this helps a lot by showing you all the dialogue but none of it is in order so its really confusing. You could try it though it might help you!

  5. I've asked about KotOR Dialogue before but I never quite figured out how organize the text strings in TalkEd. I have all the dialogue for KotOR I. My questions is this; Is there a way to organize text by planet? I know you can search strings by certain words but is there any way to view the strings the order they came up in the game? Any help would be greatly apprecaited!

  6. I have the full registered version. Every time I try recording a game, lets say KotOR II, it causes my computer to seriously lag/glitch. I've reduced the quality of the game and the recording settings but that didn't do a thing. I've tried looking around online but no one seems to have a very definitive answer. I can't post my specs yet, as I'm not around my desktop, I'll post them tomorrow. Until then, does anyone have any general advice for me? Has this happened to you?

  7. maybe to the extent of greivous

No, I do not think that a fully-electronic Jedi, or Sith, would really be that desirable.

I'm all for modding. I love it, but I only have KotOR I for Xbox so I can't really do that. I do have KotOR II on PC so I've modded that out like there's no tomorrow! o:)

It would be cool if it was just integrated into the game. I can see your point of view, but really I think it would be neat to see them implement some more variety when creating your character without having to download a mod for it.

yeah i really only have one major request. please please please bring this game to playstation 3

As long as it comes out for Xbox/Xbox 360 too then I don't mind but I'd really rather play it on an Xbox.

  8. I like Hk-47.

You forgot a couple of colors for the lightsaber. I put blue, but my favorite in the game is silver.

And I like Force Storm. Its awesome!

srry i have never encountered silver before

Yep, you probably haven't encountered these yet as they are meant to be kind of rare but there is Cyan, Silver and Bronze too! The Cyan looks just like the blue only a slightly lighter. The Bronze looks very similar to orange. They aren't that amazing but its kinda cool to have some variety! :shifty:

  9. I also saw In The Name of The King a couple of days ago. I was actually disappointed. The main character was just too untouchable and that made the whole movie feel unrealistic to me. The whole thing was just too fake...

  10. Dark Knight

    Scroll over for plot keywords:

Praise for Heath Ledger and RIP. Finally a modernized rendition of my favorite comic villain, done in absolutely spell-binding and grim style. No one can top this, no one, which is why his death is such a deathblow. I seriously can't imagine the next movie living up to this, unless they go for a very different feel and can continue to reinvent this, which has now turned into a, series. But getting Penguin and Riddler after my two most favorite villains...eh, I guess I have to trust in Depp and Nolan.

Nevertheless, best comic book movie so far. Heartily recommended for everyone and anyone who likes Batman, with a word of warning - don't expect Romero and Nicholson.

Yes! Heath was amazing as The Joker. (Better than Nicholson IMO) He was a little less...silly... and a little more creepy/psychotic! The movie was just awesome!

And Heaths lines were brilliant! I laughed so much!

And when he blows up the hospital in the nurse uniform I almost died laughing! I loved it!

Gosh...I gotta go see it again... I think it will end up doing better than Titanic...

  11. The Characters make the game for me. Or at least they would have if some of the cut content made it into the game. I loved KotOR I because you could do all the side quests and really get to know your companions better. I liked KotOR II a lot but I think the characters were a bit bland (excluding Kreia).

I also liked the combat but I'll agree with what was said earlier about the Nihilus fight being a little bit of a let down.

The force powers were nice but, honestly, I only use a handful during the game. Heal, Force Storm, and occasionally Stasis are the pretty much the only ones I use.

  12. OK so this is probably a pretty dumb question but here it goes...

I am going through my first playthrough of KotOR II on the PC. I should clarify- I have played it about 8 times on Xbox so I am familiar with the storyline. I meant this is the first time I have played it on my desktop. Anyway, I just finished killing Nihilus on the Ravager and as I was heading back I ran into a apparition of Revan. He said something to the extent of following him and then I was suddenly taken to the room in the Jedi Enclave with all the masters plus Kreia, Nihilus, and Revan. I talk a little bit to Kreia and then Revan asks me to help him find Bastila. In my journal a have a blank quest with no information.

I have downloaded numerous mods in this game but I can't remember downloading anything like this, although it is possible that I'm losing my mind. :teehee: My question is this. Is this a mod that I downloaded and just can't remember, or is that something special that only the PC version has?
