Wow. Apparently Aloth also has a dialog for MINUS 2 rep which can go quite romantic. You can kiss him and he's all confused, angry yet still certainly cares. It doesn't end very well (he always just says that maybe after you deal with Eothas and everything you could think of it again) but the scene itself... I somehow liked it too much. His response to you also changes. Not sure if there's any more content but now I'm tempted to try this "route" till the end more than I should be

Nice find! Any chance you can post a screenshot of it here? :3

Well it took 27 screenshots (all convo, but 1 path) so I'm not sure how to post them xD

Dropped it here in an archive http://dropmefiles.com/378Vd so if it's not against the rules to post external unprotected links you are welcome to check :) If it is then I apologize and will delete it.

The convo should take place in act 3 I suppose but I just triggered it via nexus mod...

Oh wow that's gooood. Lol now I'm a little sad I used that bug to get his approval up to 2.

I romanced Maia and as far as I know, there's no way to keep her if you join the Huana's side. I tried begging as her lover and the diplomatic option, she still left.

What's worse, I can't side with the female pirate captain due to a glitch of quest order, and I don't like the male one. I don't have enough cash to upgrade my ship, either. So now I'm torn between Maia and Tekehu, my two favourite companions. Crap.

You can do the ghost ship quest and take the ship and just not return to the principi, thats what i did.

that maybe the mistake I made . Once I was done , I went back..and that was it . No way to back out .

Yeah I did that and returned the sword. Ship kind of blows though so I ended up going back to my normal junk XD

Ha does it? My junk is fantastic right now so I will probably make the same choice.

I'm torn between choosing the Huana, since I like the queen, and just going solo if that's an option.

Does siding with the Huana make you lose both Pallegina and Maia?

As far as the relationship with the Watcher, yeah, I don't get it.  He does show concern at times, but yeah, not like in the first game, and his personal quest is kind of insulting for those who were hoping to romance him...another dead former lover?  After Boone in New Vegas, and about half a dozen Bioware games?  Come on, Obsidian writers.  You're better than that.  At least give him an original personal quest, even if you don't want him to be a romanceable character.  Rehashing the dead lover storyline seemed cheap.

Lol meee. The male LI with a ex-wife/gf drama has become a serious pet peeve of mine thanks to Bioware. I groaned when I realized where Eder's personal quest was going.

There were shades of this kind of backstory in Obsidian's Neverwinter Nights, too, in the Aarin Gend romance.

To be fair, that one was on Bioware, Obsidian only did NWN2.  The dead former lover thing was also present in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, with Carth Onasi, and Jade Empire, with Sky.  I guess we were supposed to be grateful that Anomen in Baldur's Gate 2 only compared the PC to his dead sister...

Personally, I kind of groaned when Boone in Fallout New Vegas had the same backstory (dead wife), but I thought it was done better than any of the Bioware examples.  I really don't understand why it was dredged up here.  It's not done well, we all are familiar with the trope of Women in Refrigerators in 2018, and there were about a million and one better ways to go with his personal quest than this.

I'm just putting it out there, if Obsidian wants to use my idea for a quest where Eder takes down the back alley puppy mills of Neketaka, they can use it for free.

Ohh I mixed up the games then - NWN 1 for NWN 2.

But yes, agreed. All those examples are what built up to my current distaste for this particular video game trope lol. (I was so annoyed by Carth that it made me biased against Kaidan just because he had the same voice actor)

  5. I've run into the same problem as others. Doing all those quests in the Gullet first before I even met the prince might have messed things up lol. I was at the stage where I'd been given the quest to steal luminous adra. I'd tabled that for a later time, and I've only just met Aruihi and he gave me the quest to investigate the Gullet and pick up Tekehu. The quest journal automatically updated as if I'd found all the necessary information and said that I need to report back to Aruihi. And when I talk to him I only have the option to lie.

I also have the issue where Aruihi is offering me work but I don't seem to have the option accept, and he gets the "crestfallen" reaction when I end the conversation.

  6. I'm someone who went into this game with no preference for who I'd like to romance and then as soon as I saw Eder waiting by my character's side while she was comatose I was like "...hello there." Suffice to say I was pretty bummed when I learned a bit later that he wasn't an option. Him being the dude who stuck by you the longest and looking after you like that really felt like an obvious romance hook and I'm just surprised they friendzoned him so hard.

Err, didn't think encumbrance was a thing in this game; this isn't Skyrim. Maybe it is and I never noticed. Likely, your party member that is complaining is wounded. This game, wounds make certain things happen, like lowering a stat, etc.

I thought it could be that too but she's definitely not wounded. :(

Maybe its whats shes wearing instead of carrying? Or both combined?

I wondered about that too and I've tried swapping her armor around. She says it even when wearing light clothing. I haven't tried testing removing belts or cloaks or other gear like that tho... Would that be worth it?

Hmm, there is no encumberance mechanic in POE2...what are the exact words the character is saying at the start of combat?

The Mystic voice says "gotta shed some gear" I think. When I tested other voices I remember the Kind voice set says something like "It's not that I wouldn't like to carry more..." Other voices I tested said similar things that I'm forgetting at the moment.

Maybe they were planning on adding encumbrance, added the lines for the voice sets, and now you're encountering a bug where the "carrying too much" audio file is being used instead of the one for "combat start". Kind of a stretch, but I suppose it's as good an explanation as any.

If someone knows where the voice files are we could at least eliminate a few possibilities.

It does seem like a case of the wrong audio file playing during combat. Like I'm not seeing any limitations/negative effects being imposed on my character at all despite her saying she's encumbered...

  9. So my character keeps announcing at the start of combat that she's carrying too much gear. But she's only carrying a few things in her personal inventory (a torch, some potions). So is it the stash? I have a ton of items in stash but I didn't think those counted towards encumbrance, or do they?

I also can't see any indicators/symbols anywhere showing she's encumbered, and her movement speed is unchanged...
