Instead of an explanation, I would've preferred they just straight up said (for people who wanted to know) who was romance-able or not. No explanation would really make me feel better at this point, because I feel like they knew that people wanted certain people to be options and led people on. I don't mind the fact that Eder (in my case) isn't romance-able. I mind that it was something that I was led to believe could be possible. I know I set myself up for disappointment, but it doesn't change how I feel right now. And some of this could've been avoided if they just flat out said who the options were.

From what I've read, it doesn't look like there is any prerequisite to be able to romance the characters available.

According to someone on reddit, everyone is romanceable by any watcher, with the exception of Eder and Pallagina. I'm kinda upset. It's silly, but it never occured to me that Eder wouldn't be an option, since he seems to be a fan favorite. Its made worse by the fact that it sounds like he can get together with Xoti, but Xoti is romanceable by the watcher as well.
Edit: They said Serafen is a romance option, but not a full one. Not sure what that means.

On one hand, I'm happy that it looks like Aloth is romanceable for a female watcher; on the other hand, I'm saddened that it looks like Eder isn't, especially since I was hoping to put my current watcher that I'm playing through the first game again with, with him. Ah well, I'll just have to use my imagination then.

I didn't mind the PoE narrator, but he only really did the text intro scene for each act and to tell you to g'ather your party before venturing forth'. For Deadfire, I don't care for having a narrator, nothing against the voice actress or anything, I just find having a narrator to be distracting. Also, somehow having a narrator in the beginning makes the descriptive text seem more weird and awkward than it does just reading it myself. I don't want to turn down the voice volume, since my only issue with having a narrator, and I hate cutting off voiced narration (just a personal nitpick).

This could be a mistranslation, but a gamestar.de article said all the new companions are romanceable, but none of the original three are.

Gosh, I hope that is not true. I was really hoping for Eder to be a romance option.

Okay. I didn't back the game, didn't have the extra funds. When I say I wanted a list, I meant sometime before the official release of the game. When I looked up about relationships, I read a bunch of other people and thought that Eder would be a choice. After a certain point, the devs could've come out and said who the interests were. I would hope a month before release, this kinda thing would be determined. And I admit that some of the blame is on me, but the devs could've tempered expectations more is all I'm saying.
