  3. Greetings, Watchers, The Circle of Archmages requests your assistance to deal with one of their own. Come with us into the depths of the Black Isle, and into "The Forgotten Sanctum". The Forgotten Sanctum When a violent tremor shatters the islands of the Deadfire, the greatest wizards in Eora seek out the aid of the Watcher. The archmage Maura has vanished into the depths of a newly opened dungeon located in the Black Isles and threatens to awaken what lies forgotten there. Follow Maura's trail and determine the fate of one of the Deadfire Archipelago's most closely-held secrets. Traverse an expansive dungeon built into the flesh of a sleeping god. Encounter the highest-level challenges yet faced by the Watcher and their companions. Scheme with or defy the wills of Eora's most powerful wizards. The Critter Cleaver As a fun bonus to The Forgotten Sanctum's core content, the DLC also includes the Critter Cleaver - a way for Watchers to get the pet bonuses they like most with the pet appearance they like most. Watchers of any level can find the Critter Cleaver in the Dark Cupboard in Neketaka and finally travel with a pet that has the perfect stats and appearance they so desire. Here it is in action! 5. Hi MrSamsa! Sorry, that's on me. I got hit with a veritable boatload of other work over the last week or so that made me unable to address our support tickets - but I'm going through them now!
  6. Hi everyone! Thanks to Boffmoffet for pointing out this thread to me - we're aware of the misunderstanding that occurred as a result of the Fig page's wording. We did not at all mean for this to happen or to mislead our most ardent fans. By way of a short explanation, physical discs were a nightmare during and after POE1's crowdfunding campaign. We were forced to split the shipments due to the delay in manufacturing required to put some version of 1.0 onto the discs, and then keeping that platform updated separately took down some of our key peoples from working on the game and making it better. The team, in the spirit of learning, vowed to not repeat the same mistake for the sequel, but it seems the wording caused some confusion in trying to reflect that decision. As Amentep has said, please reach out to us at support@obsidian.net if you feel dissatisfied with your purchase and we'll certainly try to alleviate that! Also, and I've mentioned this in the other Backer Physical Rewards thread but it bears repeating here - the card in current physical box has a code that is entirely separate from the code received on the backer portal, so you can do with it as you please!
  7. Hi all! Sorry for the lack of replies - got a bit overwhelmed with everything that's going on but I've gotten a few friends to help me out and make sure we get to everyone's tickets asap. We'll be working through the backlog and make sure the tickets are resolved over the next few days, so bear with us! I've updated the support page with the latest news as well. Thanks again for sticking around with us and for your patience. It's been a bit of a road to get here, but I'm glad people are getting their rewards and will make sure those who didn't (or got broken items) are covered.
  8. Okay, Andrea, but it's only because I like you and not because that was a great idea that I should have totally done to begin with.
  9. Greetings, Watchers, We hope you've been enjoying all the soft balls we've used to ease you into Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire's combat until now, but the baby gloves are coming off. This month, we're releasing the Abydon and Skaen challenges in Patch 2.1, a Mega Boss for those who adhere to the "get good" philosophy, and an entire DLC focused around proving your worth through glorious combat. Prepare yourselves, Watchers - none of this is for the unworthy. Seeker, Slayer, Survivor Far from the bustling trade lanes of the Deadfire Archipelego, the most ambitious warriors of Eora gather to compete for divine favor. Face the challenges of Kazuwari's Crucible and seek treasure and truth in an arena designed to test the mettle of you and your party. Slay your way through the most challenging foes you have ever faced, both past and present. Survive the trials and whims of the spirits and their worshipers to prove you stand above even the greatest the Deadfire has to offer. Be ready, Watcher. Seeker, Slayer, Survivor comes September 25th. Seeker, Slayer, Survivor Screenshots Seeker, Slayer, Survivor Wallpapers 2560x1440 Wide 2048x1536 Standard Patch 2.1 and Incoming Patch 2.1 will be available on September 11th! It's currently on the Beta Branch, and Josh Sawyer would welcome any feedback you might have for the God Challenges below: Abydon - The god of the forge is ready to challenge you with forged items you carry. The more you use weapons and armor, the more they will wear down and become "Damaged". This modifier will make them progressively worse and eventually destroy them unless the mods are removed through Enchantments. Choose the items you will wear into battle wisely! Skaen - With Skaen's challenge, when indoors or at night, fog of war encroaches more. Torches and lanterns can partially offset the additional fog of war, but only a little. Next month, we'll be bringing our first Mega Boss, Belranga, to Deadfire. This poison-dripping monstrosity is only for the highest leveled players and will test your party's mettle to new heights. We'll have more information on Belranga and her ravenous brood in the coming weeks, so stay tuned! Tales from the Deadfire Narrative Designer Paul Kirsch wrote a few preludes (including a choose your own adventure story!) to the Beast of Winter - you can check them out on our media page, or directly through the links below. Mouth of the Beast Landlocked Descent Panels, Interviews, and More! Our Deadfire DLC team went to PAX this year! Check out their panel as they discuss how they created Vatnir from thought, to paper, to playable character. Take a look at PAX's highlight on Twitch.tv to see just how the poor godlike came to be. 10. Hey Cynrical! Please reach out to us at support@obsidian.net and I'll get you settled! Cryocore, that's an awesome and obviously lovingly curated collection - people at the office have some crazy collections too, but yours is definitely up there. Thanks for sharing, and I'm making sure you're getting sorted.
  11. Hi everyone! I've been responding to these as they fall into my lap in the support queue, but yes, these are duties and fees related to imports. We tried to mitigate this somewhat by moving keeping our distribution warehouses in areas with the highest number of backers (also why I've been adamant about finding another distributor in the EU after the first one fell through), but the shipping fees we charged could not have any customs or duties included in our quoted shipping costs due to the complexity of each country's laws relating to customs fees. I wish we could have factored these into the shipping fees we presented to you, but we simply had no way of knowing how each combination of items would be charged for each of the countries we were shipping to - especially since a lot of these items were still being created at the time. I'm sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
  12. Hi all, just wanted to let you know that I updated the support page with some news - we paid the deposit for EU and the rest of the world's delivery today and have been told that it's moving along - I'll update the page again on Wednesday with any new news on that front. In terms of broken goods, it seems that it's by and large the statues that are having problems - I'm talking to our distributors, who are looking into making sure the packaging both inside and outside the current box that it shipped in. Still, feel free to reach out to us at support@obsidian.net with any damaged goods and we'll get you sorted. If I haven't responded to your ticket yet, please don't fret - I'm trying to make sure that you won't receive another broken statue as a replacement and get the EU warehouse running smoothly so I have a few tickets on my docket that I still need to get to. I've also been hearing about the soundtracks separately, so I'm looking into it and will make sure those who added them on will get them. I've been following the thread and I understand that there was wording in the campaign that appeared to promise more than an unpledged extra code for the game. I hear you, and I've been talking to various people internally and externally to figure out a solution. I did want to reiterate that we really didn't mean to deceive anyone by this - PoE1's physical discs were delayed by a few months as manufacturing for the disks had to start after the launch of the game to get v1.0 on the discs...and by the time it arrived at anyone's doorsteps the games on the discs had to be patched in a completely different manner from the usual methods, which took down some key folks who could have been making the game better. We honestly wanted to avoid all that (learning!) this time around, but it seems that those intentions were never communicated adequately enough to the people who mattered most in all of this. Finally, I know I haven't bought enough goodwill to ask for anything, but please be civil to one another. Deadfire could not have become what it is without the support of every person who helped fund it, so you guys and gals helped make something remarkable - together. And, to all of you in this thread helping to make us better than we are: thank you.
  13. Hi all, I updated the support page with some more news (yay, our distribution house in the EU is confirmed and everything is moving along), but I wanted to jump in here real quick before I head out for the day. Physical Editions without CD's: We never intended to deceive or misdirect with the physical editions of the box. As hard as it might be to believe, there was once a time when we thought we would be getting our backers all of their rewards on-time, and that timing informed quite a lot of the decisions made for backer rewards. Before the Manufacturing and Shipping Kerfuffle of 2018, the thought was to have manufacturing done much earlier than the launch of the game, and then everything would go smoothly so that backers would get their rewards in-hand while, or just after, the game launched. This meant that, even if we made CD's, they would really just be setpieces to represent the game as opposed to a physical, install-able version of the game itself, and would have added even more time between manufacturing and getting goods shipped. We opted not to go with that direction as, alongside the obvious downsides to increases in production time, it would most likely confuse and irritate those who tried to install the game with the CD's and found it either blank or with a requirement that was basically a re-download of the game - which would have rendered the whole thing moot. The cards were actually us trying to be upfront about it, while at the same time providing value to the increasing number of people who do not have CD readers on their rigs, but we could have done a better job at making this decision and the reasons for it more explicit. Broken items? Very sorry about these and I know how much of a bummer it is to open something you've been waiting patiently for, only to see it broken in pieces. Please send this along to us, and I'll deal with these directly with our distributor! Hi Urthor, that's an RR Donnelly tracking number, I believe, and I've been able to track the few that have crossed my path here: https://www.aftership.com/couriers/rrdonnelley
  14. Good evening, everyone! It's an incredible relief to hear some backers have finally received their goods - so far, I'm counting some 1300 orders as having been shipped. In the meantime, there are only a few minor details that need to get ironed out regarding EU/Rest of World contract and will update the support page again, hopefully Wednesday, with good news. Hi John! Please reach out to us at support@obsidian.net if any of your items were damaged! I'd be happy to reach out to our distributors and make sure you get proper rewards, especially if they were damaged in-transit. I'm sorry if there was any miscommunication about this! We wanted the chromecase to look sleek but not obtrusive in backers' collections and libraries. I know it's a small consolation, but the card's code is different from the code we sent you upon release (and boy am I glad we decided to do that - talk about logistical nightmares), so if you have that friend who put the game on their wishlist but hasn't yet bought it, you can definitely put them in your debt send them a token of your friendship!
  15. Hi Townsend! Thanks for your question - we meant more for statuses on our backer portal as opposed to actual shipment confirmations and tracking info, which you will receive through email from our distribution center. And as Achilles said, we're using a different vendor than we did before, which means we had to change a lot of the code on the backend to support their systems and processes.
