You encouraged her to follow her heart rather than perform her duty. That means she'll be discgraced by the faction she served. She's not angry and upset with you for long in PoE2 - just give it a while. She actually admits later that she doesn't blame you. 😕

Not only her heart, her intelligence too, what happen if you strangle someone the day he is weakened and he found you later completely restored ???

This was her thought (Dyrwood is weak now, if the Valians strangle them with this agreement, the day they will become stronger again, they will make us pay)... Pallegina have a long term view...

More than this, if she hadn't helped resolve the Dyrwood crisis, it could have spread to valian republic and the entire world, Pallegina is a hero whatever choice she/we made... but anyway valian (i don't put V) are some sort of mafiosi, some little thugs, i hate them in what i have see of the game...

      I really hate that.

Pallegina in my playthrough is a Kind Wayfarer. I did what I thought was best for her and for the Dyrwood. I imported my save, and guess what, she is a disgraced soldier, she's sad and even angrier, like if I never cared for her in Pillars 1... So, if I want to Pallegina be happy in the Deadfire, I need to strenghten Dyrwood souls ( Make an pact with a god I personally dislike) JUST because they decide to desconsider my choice?

Why bring a companion back in this way? Desconsidering options they give to players? What about the whole "Choice and Consequence" thing?

Forcing me to make choices like that was not what I expected from obsidian, really sad...

In POE Pallegina made a deal between Dyrwood/Valians/Er Glanfath, because she didn't wanted to "kill Dirwood"

According to the wiki,  : https://pillarsofeternity2.wiki.fextralife.com/Pallegina
she is found by Duchess of Spirento, but during my Deadfire POE Import, i haven't found a choice like this three faction agreement, only : Obey, Disobey so i choose disobey and some hours after this i found a Pallegina which is a ship guardian... ????

I am completely disappointed, what choice should i make in the import to have her reinstated in her order while working for that Duchess of Spirento

  3. Import should be better made, in my first NG i didn't even noticed it, and when i found one of my companion (with choices which was not corresponding my choices in POE), and according this topic (i discovered we can re-create our choices here) i decided to recreate a ng with my old POE choices. I spent some time re-choosing carefully to make it correspond to my choices in POE, and when i found Pallegina, it appear i made a mistake in the choices (my choice was to create a fair trade between the three faction in POE, and in my actual game she is a ship guardian???? - ) ..
Why can't we summarize our choices during the import ???? As soon we made a choice (for some at least like the companions) we can't return back to check if choice is correctly set, it disappear and we can't double check...

In a correctly made game, after we made all our decision choices we should have a summarize window, with all our choices, and the possibility to change them is they are not correct...

how much time will i restart this game to have correct choices, in the actual state of the game we chose and hours after we realize we made an error ?? it is a draft, not a perfectly finished product...

Please FIX THIS mess (Deadfire PS4)

Also some of the choices i made in POE were not black or white but Grey (Animancy in Dirwood must continue but with cautious, not just continue like childrens playing with weapons)...

Me too, Keep getting PS4 error codes in Keketaka, Even corrupted some save files & had to backtrack abit!

This is good to know, i will create several saves to avoid losing too much time in case this happen...
I have found another bug, sometime pressing triangle (to have the cursor) don't work, cursor is not visible and we have to restart the game to fix this...

Really the developpers should do something, a good start on our side would be to list all the bugs we found (in a special topic) to help them ...

PoE1 had long load times because of a bug where the more items you collect (even if you sell them) the save file inflates dramatically. Deadfire doesn't have this issue, and at least on PC/macOS has much faster load times as a result. I in fact will never touch PoE1 again because the load times were just so awful by comparison.

It remind me the bug with Skyrim on PS3, the more you progress the more the save file became big, and at one point loading a save was endless...
I can confirm, at start in POE (without ssd) the load time were correct, decent, but after 50 hours in the game, enter any room was really long...

  6. Hello,

When we have a dialogue, it is hard to see which choice we are on, it is really easy to choose the wrong dialogue option... Sometime i have to count from the top to be sure to select the right answer (to avoid selecting another answer than the one i want)...

Please color the selected dialogue with something more visible (blue, yellow, anything except the same color than the rest)... Or increase the selected answer shift, it must be more visible...

3/4 times i choose the wrong answer (not the answer i wanted to choose) because there is not enough contrast beetween the selected answer and the others (i have a 50" 4K LG TV - it is still new - problem don't come from my tv) and i am at less than 3 meters from the TV...

When we play on Console, we are far from the screen, it is not like when we play on a PC, sitting on a chair right in front of the screen which is on a desk...
I enjoy the game, but some options should be added or improved to increase the visibility considering the fact we play on console at 3 meters from a TV and with a controller (not a keyboard and mouse)...

in Deadfire there are items that care about injuries, so very occasionally I *want* to set off traps deliberately with party members to trigger injuries. so keeping that option open seems valuable.

also there are parts of the game where you can't go around a detected trap (e.g. it takes up the entire path). in such a case I'm going to willingly set it off just to get to where i'm going.

in that case (if you want to trigger a trap to wound a selected companion) you can move it manually on the trap, i have no problem with this, my problem is when you move the entire group, one is stupid enough to walk on a detected trap... we can assume the team speak and share informations about enemies, traps, etc...

PS : may be i should have put mechanic on another character than Eder, because he don't have enough perception to detect traps...

Activate "auto-pause" and "end movement" on trap detection in the game options menu at any time.

i used this on POE 1, but sometime it "auto pause" several time and it can be more annoying than helping... but it don't explain why the others companions walk on a detected trap...

Usually to prevent any accident, i am using Triangle on PS4 to have the cursor and i scan the room with it/disable traps when i found one, but today the traps were detected, all my companions behind Eder, and one of them find a way to trigger the detected traps, resulting in everybody wounded (-2 dexterity and more) by a detected trap and a fight triggered...

  9. Hello,
one of my companions have enough mechanic to detect and disable traps, but even if they are visible because our mechanic skills my group is stupid enough to walk on it ...

This should be fixed, if one of the companions can see the traps and disable them we can assume he can speak to the others (spread the info about trap location) and the others never will put their feet on detected traps...

With the personalised arrangement (character position) i always put Eder first (he have enough mechanic to detect and disable traps), and he always should be the first, but the others are always trying to bypass him and go 1st...

It is a conception error and it should be fixed please, traps must never be triggered if they are detected...

More than this (about the personal companion position), if the watcher is not the first, the one to lead (eder 1st or any other), the entire group can be blocked by a stairs or a corridor, they are stuck, and i need to change their position to one of the pre-set position formation (arrangement or whatever the correct term is)...

    Port Maje - around 1m 30s

    Neketaka - around 2m

around 1m every time you change from a location to a world map
so... it's ridiculous. you're loading more then you are playing.

I have PS4 Pro (regular, no SSD). I finished PoE I on PS4 with a lot of patient (actually, two times as I was for a platinum trophy), but at least it was playable. PoE II freezes every time you change a single item on any character. It was freezing on the first cut scene in Neketaka. I couldn't pick up one crew member in a cave, as two enemies were not counted as enemies and I couldn't finish the event (re-load didn't help, re-loaded two more earlier point and skipped location..). Sometimes cursor is disappearing in the trade menu, and I can't buy anything - at least quitting the game and reloading helps here.

Instead of having some useful link on a touch map (usually it's a map), there's a link to tutorials. You won't need tutorials the most part of the game. This option could be customized, but no, it's not.

I finished PoE II on GOG on the release date, and I waited so much for PS4 release... But, unfortunately, it's a frustrating nightmare. I'm not sure if I'm going to play it anymore. I'm in Neketaka now, and I'm scared realizing how many times I need to go in or out from buildings and see these load screens...

I feel there is only few difference with and without ssd, i will try to measure the time it take to load Port Maje (without it be in the cache memory) and post my results...

Eh? I guess you meant "decrease loading time" or "increase loading speed"?

Loading times (on PC) of Deadfire compared to PoE are significantly shorter. I can't say anything about consoles (they are less potent so it might take a lot longer in general) but on the same PC hardware it's very obvious.

Obsidian tries to address the loading time issues of PoE with an asset streming in Deadfire and at least for me it worked.

I don't think that the long loading times are 100% to blame on Unity3D but more on an unfortunate interaction of Unity3D and the PoE/Deadfire "2.5D" approach.

But yes: all in all they are still pretty long compared to other titles.

Sorry :), you are right (i meant : reduce the long load time), i corrected my post... tbh i can't remember enough precisely to compare both games, but on POE this prevented me to continue playing, after 2 game, i stopped because i was tired of waiting...
On Deadfire, it is the same each time you enter a place you have to wait...
When i was playing POE i hadn't a SSD (i got it for Anthem), so i couldn't say, but even with ssd it take some time to enter a room, a shop, any place... i can't imagine what it would be without a ssd...

When you're in front of The Pallid knight, press the square button & you can create a custom save there. You'll literally be checking the flags that an import would make, hope you can remember all of your choices & all of the characters...massive pain if you played the game multiple times, with multiple characters & many different choices 🙄

Really ? the only possibility i saw during the NG creation was to import a pre-created character (which was absolutely none of mine on POE),  or to create one new, i selected new character and the game only asked me which type of personality i had on POE...

I will be more careful for my next ng... but tbh i was expecting to be able to choose a POE Save, like it happen on many games...
    Thank You ^

  13. Me too, fix this game !!! It is not a serious work, 99% of the games i play crash one time per week or per month, and usually it is because i put the console in sleep mode with the game still launched, but Deadfire is crashing too much frequently for a finished product. (only this night it crashed 4 or 5 times in less than one hour - i speak of a PS4 blue screen) i am in Poko Hara (inside)...

I am happy to have the game and will not ask for a refund (unless the  the frustration of the crashes make the pleasure to play Deadfire disappear) but make it work please, you had plenty of time since POE to make a stable version of the game.

  14. After some years, i thought the developpers would improve the loading time, but sadly no.

I enjoyed POE a lot, but the thing which made me stop playing it was the very very long load time, each time you enter a building or a single room, you had to wait a long time before the game load and of course a loading time when you exit te room...

I am on PS4 with an SSD, and clearly this don't come from the hardware but from POE and Deadfire code...
I really hope the developpers will improve this in a future patch, because there is a lot of buildings/room/shops to explore and having a long loading time at each enter/exit, is the best way to make players flee to an other game (or to prevent them to buy POE Deadfire)...

  15. I am playing on PS4, and since 5 mn, each time i am going to a seller, i can't select any of his items... i can select only mine, so i can't buy anything...
I tried to reload a save, but same problem...

I notified sometime the stores inventory (and my inventory too) are freezed for some time, then it return to normal...

To fix my "buying" problem i had to restart the game (i am playing on PS4 Pro + SSD, so it is not a hard drive problem)...

    Please fix

i just took my level 10 with 40 science and tinckered Fixer and a regular revolver

each tinckering cost was only a bit more for Fixer but the end resulting damage/dps was significantly greater for Fixer

did the same with Maxwell and regular impact hammer and, again, tincker prices were only a bit more at each comparable level

there must be other variables involved

Wait until you reach lv 30, and you will want to upgrade a lv 10 science weapon / unique to your level, then you will see...
Unique weapon and science weapons are useless unless you upgrade them, and because when you found them you are 10 lv higher than the weapon, it cost a lot...

Example : Assault rifle "Thunder" it is lv 15, but when you reach it you already are Lv 22-23, so the weapon is useless unless you upgrade it to your level, and it is very very expansive. (4414 bits to upgrade it to lv 21 - i will not upgrade it more because it is too much)
In a word, there is not enough money in the game to upgrade all the unique weapons to lv30.

I would also say that consumables of the same "type" (e.g. +200% natural regen, +25% base health, +1 personality stats, etc.) should all be grouped together, given that your inhaler automatically refills from the same type if possible. right now it's extremely tedious to try to figure out how many of what type of consumable I have.

Agreed inventory is a complete mess... they really should be regrouped by functionality.
