  1. To update my original post, the same night I posted that reply I had one crash issue during travel.  After that, like you, the occasional times it did crash were more often during a save than travel, although both happened a few more times.  Definitely MUCH better than before but it is a pain to have to manually save (and do so often).  Once the issue was corrected, though, I blew through the rest of the game in just over a day.  What I found that worked best (although still not perfect) was having 2 manual save files, and each time I would choose to save (which wasn't every load screen, but probably every 2-3 load screens), I would choose the older save file to overwrite.  So constantly alternating save files.  I'm a bit obsessive compulsive so this probably wasn't necessary, but that way I never lost much of my playtime, and ***IF***, god forbid, the save file corrupted completely, I wouldn't have to download the application saved data from online storage, which is only backed up once a day at best.

Good luck on the rest of your playthrough.  No spoilers, but the ending is very good and A LOT of choices you make in the game (especially during the last act) have an effect on the ending narrative, so make good choices!

I am doing the same, I never save over my last save (just in case), but yesterday I got a save error during a save, hopefully it didn't crashed the game...

I don't understand why Obsidian don't fix those problems, they are critical problems...

I removed and re-installed the game, but it didn't changed anything...

We the PS4 players would appreciate a word from Obsidian Developers, and a patch, because the game is nice but it is hard to play in these conditions... It is very frustrating...

A game should bring pleasure, but in the actual state, we have one hour of fun, 30 minute of frustration...

  2. Not to be a knob or anything, but I don't think threads where the last post was from over two years ago really need to be posted in. The simple fact is most people who originally posted won't be around anymore, and beyond that two years ago Pillars was quite radically different to what it's like today (there was no White March, the classes went through several iterations of changes, etc.), so you're not going to get the discussion you're looking for.

It's better if you have something to talk about to make a new thread about it so we can have a discussion about it, rather than post in a thread that has become largely irrelevant due to time. I'm not trying to mini-mod here or anything like that, just pointing out that you're going to have to be lucky to get discussion in threads from when the game was released, so it would be more worth your time to make a new topic.

To be honest, I didn't payed attention to the date of the topic, I done a search on the forum and found that topic, two years after this have not been improved ...

That game is very very frustrating...

  3. My character is stuck in terrain, on Rodrik Keep sewers. Closing game and reloading didn't help. Cannot switch instances. Is there code for teleporting character?

EDIT: If anybody gets the same bug, solution is painful : tylde + "iroll20s" + "manageparty". I lost my achievemnts but at least I can progress :/

Same problem and it is not the first time, it happened several time in White March, and somewhere else (stuck in a tree in Elmshore if I remember correctly), only way to fix that for us on Console is to Load an old save...

  4. Hi guys, first post and i'm really enjoying PoE but I do have a couple of gripes while in combat, especially when I have a large party or that they are obscured by scenery or groups of monsters.

All the characters are highlighted with a green circle in my party and I would like to know if there is an option i'm not seeing or if there is a mod available that will colour my individually selected party members a different colour to make it more noticeable which party member I have selected. This isn't anything to do with colourblind mode.

It would also be really nice if there was something that highlighted which stats changed on my characters when equipping new items or armour.

    Is this something that's possible?

    Thanks!

Agreed, I have the same problem since the beginning, it is not a big problem for wizard and characters which attack from far and without moving, but for melee attacker it is very very hard to recognize them during a fight and see their position, sometime I found one of my melee attacker turning around the others because he try to reach an enemy but the other members of the party block him, the name of the character over the party member would have been appreciated so during a fight we could see exactly which target is easily reachable and which other is not...

Sadly I am on PS4 and there is no mod for us...

  5. This time, it is not during fast travel but during save, I got a game crash while I was saving (it was the first time)... :(

POE really need some fixes on PS4, it is a good game, but it need improvement ...

It crash less than before with the auto-save feature disabled, but it still crash sometimes, I crashed right now while I was going from Durgan battery West tower (up) to the entrance, hopefully I saved before...

Edit : Without the auto-save it can be worst (if it crashes while you saved on your last save - can you imagine losing hours of playing), the game is crashing sometime during the saves... I never saw a game which crash so much... on the PS4 never...

Obsidian should really do something, there is a lot of users which don't spend their life on the forums, and have the same problem, but they don't complain...

In fact the problem is not the travel, it is the saves which crashes, during 12 hours of playing after I disabled auto-save, I got only one crash during travel, and 3 crashes during save...

    PLEASE FIX IT

  6. Wanted to let you know that you're not the only one with that issue.  It's been happening to me over the last week or more, and didn't begin happening on a regular basis until I was in Act III and almost finished with WM2.  But it was occurring multiple times an hour, and then having to suffer through re-booting the game and sign in, inordinate load times, made the game almost unplayable.

BUT... I *think* I may have found a solution!  Do you have the autosave feature turned on?  If so, turn it off.  I've had it on my entire playthrough, but turned it off a few hours ago to see if it made a difference.  The first 10 or so load screens I entered, I saved right before travelling.  No issues.  Since then, I've gone through another 10+ load screens without even saving except after finishing a quest and haven't had an issue.  Granted, this needs to be confirmed further, but so far it's working for me.  Give it a shot and see if you have any luck.

And I may be imagining this, but honestly, I feel like the load times have improved as well, with the game not simultaneously having to think about saving while loading.  The load times are still ridiculous, but it's more bareable, and I'm getting much more questing done.  Good luck to ya!

Thank you, I will try that, it was the same with Skyrim if I remember correctly...

The hardest will be to think to save before traveling (just in case)I hope I will not lose hours of playing... :)

Edit : You could be right, i didn't got any game crash since 2 hours, and I traveled a lot (I done the entire endless path of cad nua to see If I didn't forgot anything)... Amazing 2 hours without a crash, that is a performance ...

  7. Just learn to be economical. ;)

Per-Rest spell use is one of the big advantages of PoE casters - if you get behind it. Because in tough fights you can spam ALL of your spells without any restriction - and in easier fights you can use only few spells or even your per-encounter-abilities only (Arcane Assault and Blast/Inspiring Radiance and Interdiction/Spiritshift).

Actually an encounter based spell system makes casters less powerful. Because now you can use your spells in every encounter and their uses regenerate after battle they have to be balanced in number of uses per encounter and also in power.

This makes casters stronger in your everyday-trashmob encounter (where it doesn't matter) but makes them less useful in the really hard fights (where it would matter). You can observe this in the beta of PoE2:Deadfire where caster use the exact system you proposed (and badly suck).

That mechanic (per rest) would not be a problem if the AI was more customizable (it use my best spells on low level enemies or enemies with low life;)) , each time when it come to the AI of companions it remind me Dragon Age Origins and DA2, the AI for the companions and your character was exceptional, very customizable (I wonder why Bioware didn't kept that mechanic in DA Inquisition)...

    Example : https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JEQCnu-mNmw/VKGxS14oJhI/AAAAAAAACNQ/22pvEzvKpnA/s1600/origins%2Btactics.jpg

The AI in POE is not so bad, but when you have in your party a priest, a wizard and a Druid it is very hard to micro manage them all or to be economic with their high lv spells if you use the AI ;)...

  8. You are right, it should be a good idea, usually if I am in danger I can use teleport or confuse enemies, at lease not Craghold enemies;)

The biggest troubles I got in POE was against the Alpine dragon (tried 3 times at lv 9 before I understand this enemy was 4 or 5 lv on top of me - After doing some search on google  I decided to return later with some more levels)...

Cragholdt Bluffs was extremely difficult I was low level when I gone there for the first time, and had a very hard time, I returned later with higher lv, I had no troubles against the mercenaries, but some of the magic creatures are extremely hard to kill (the death warden ? - not sure about her name in English - those dead enemies in black armor - wow), and also all those magic creatures which are immune to confuse and send a ice beam from far, most of my crows controls spells was useless here (it is not the better place for a wizard to have some good time - very frustrating)
I will not speak about Cragholdt itself (Concelhaut and his minions - OMG - i spend a very very hard time, finally I got him in the corridor - I sent Eder there and we waited out of the room) - This place can be very frustrating, It was my hardest fight...

The fight against the Master of Cad nua was a piece of cake in comparison to Concelhaut...

  9. I would really appreciate a fix for those crashes, it is very very annoying, the game crash on PS4 more than 3 times per hour and not per day, each time I have to travel to another location, I have 1/3 chances to crash...

    Please really, fix this...

The loading are very very long, more than any other game I know, and if it crashes it is terrible, each time we travel, we have to wait 1-2-3 minutes, then the game crash, then we have to re-launch it, wait for the loading screen and the message with the 70000 contributors, no way to skip that, and then another 2-3 minutes to load the games...

I spend More time on loading than playing...

PLEASE FIX THIS GAME, on PS4 it is broken !!!

  10.

I think it would be right if the Mage ended Mana in combat. And after the battle, it is restored. And slowly recovered during the battle.
The same is about the parameters of Health and Strength (Warriors).
Continually run to the nearest city, or light a fire every 10 minutes for a rest, in the dungeons - it's very stupid.

Yes agreed, when I discovered my wizard had to rest to re-charge his spells, my first reaction was not very good, I was disturbed...

The mechanic for Priest, wizards, Druids is weird in POE, at least if we could have more than 4 camping equipment ...
