  1. The Beatles - Hey Jude

And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain,

Don't carry the world upon your shoulders

For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool

By making his world a little colder

that is the best song in the world. no doubt.

i currently am listening to white stripes. they rock.

  2. like i said... that proof isnt enough for me and mine wont be enough for u

So we are at an impasse... :bat:

that happaned sooo long ago lol

...but there is a difference between religion and the belief in a higher power (God, Allah, Mother Earth, call it what you will.) You do not need to subscribe to a certain methodology to believe that life is a gift and the human spirit is greater than we can define. There will never be a good enough explanation for love and reason that will stop me from seeing it as supernatural in nature.

I believe the major difference between religion and belief, is that religion has an absolute doctrine that is unchanging and cannot be proved upon... unlike science where its beliefs are self correcting, peer reviewed etc... Where as the bible cannot be, but i think the bible could be personally improved by sayings from basic philosophy, even saying something like though should not harm your children.

I think you misunderstood. I mean there is religion, and then there is belief in a higher power, and the two are different things. I suppose the latter is required by the former, but you can believe in a higher power without subscribing to a certain methodology.

yes i am antireligion but i have beliefs

Well I'm going to appeal to everyone's logical side for a moment.

I'm a Christian, I tell you that right up front, but I'm not one who trys to shove what I believe down your throat. You've got a right to believe whatever you want to believe, and if you think you can prove something, well that's for you to decide.

Consider this though: If I choose to believe that the earth was created by God, a being of such power and magnitude He is incomprehensible to us, others who believe in evolution generally critisize me for beleving in a myth of unproveable proportions.

However, an evolutionist chooses to believe that everything in the universe originated out of absolutely nothing 15 billion years ago and slowly formed into what we see today.

If you want to believe that, that's fine. But you have to admit there is no way to prove that it happened that way. You may have evidence that seems to lend towards that theory, but you cannot prove it. Is it so much harder to believe everything was created by God than it is to believe everything was created by boom?

So all I'm saying is, if you want to believe that way, that's fine. Just realize you can no more prove your theory than I can prove that God created everything.

If you were walking through a forest and came upon a magnificent painting hanging on a tree with no evidence that anyone had ever passed by that way, you would still assume that the painting was created by someone. The odds of all the right compounds coming together to make such a painting by chance are so slim it isn't worth calculating, and yet evolutionists have no trouble swalowing the idea that EVERYTHING was made in just that manner. At the same time though, they will readily ridicule anyone who believes that this incredible universe we live in was created by God.

I know creationists can be irreasonable and illogical at times, they say "It's in the Bible so it's true!" Well I believe in the Bible but I also know that some people don't and so I can only hope to at least open your mind to the possibility that everything around us was designed.

i think u explained that pretty good. it seems like i have a much easier time excepting that ppl can believe evolution than ppl have excepting that i believe in creation. for me, the fact that theres agreat improbability of it all just happening at random and us all being designed so complexly (even with survival of the fittest) is a bit of a disprove for me. dont get me wrong, i know thats not proof of anysort for you guys

  3. OMG. im getting a whif of deja vu. isnt this why we had to start a new thread. i doubt they're taking long on purpose. i think its cool that there doing it and maybe they want to have a life other than modding so i think that its great that someone is actually doing it and im pretty sure there not getting paid so they can slack all they want (which theyre not!) so i think we should all be positive and supportive :sorcerer: !!!! everyone just be happy gosh darnit

  4. The Bible is not proof of creationism. It is an account of creationism based on conjecture and the understanding of the world and universe in the mindset of a primitive being who had no idea why it rained, why fire hurts, nor what causes him to get sick.

what i am trying to say is that if you have faith in God its obviously proof enough for you. im talking more about beliefs which we dont need to go into

    Faith is not proof.

wow i've said like 40 times that this is basically a proofless subject. no ones gonna find proof that will prove anything to the other person. i said that for me, personally, faith is proof

  5. isnt it a theory which is a explanation with backing facts.

If we used your logic gravity would also be called into question, as there is at least as much -if not more- evidence for evolution. :ermm:

oh boy u found evidence that works for u. u win!!! *gives cupcake*.... did u forget that i dont care anymore. u got ur cupcake, we're both obviously hard headed and bad at debating bc nothing was proved to the other

  6. we've crossed the line. i didint know evolution was proven! isnt it a theory which is a explanation with backing facts.

when we start dealing with absolutes thats when i leave. but if not deal with absolutes... why talk. then theres no... conclusion of anysort

AND ive allready said several times that there is no "proof" for creationist. not the scientific facts u want

  7. wow im so tired i just decided that i dont care. i've been talking for an hr but it doesnt really matter bc there are things like starving children and wars that are more energy worthy. obviously we are here and um yeah. save the whales!!!! before they evolve in to a blubber lamp.... or something

  8. i refuse to read that bc i hate doctrine and religion. dont think im a person who is religious. im something else entirely. well they maybe not giving it a fair hearing but hey it seems mutual. since you wouldnt even look at it and i bet if you did like i said you cant just put the fact that its christian behind you and look at the scientific facts. u claim that creationist dont use facts and scientific method, well theres a creationist actually using facts and u shut it down before u can see it for urself

Creationism USES RELIGION, PREFERABLY CHRISTIANITY AS ITS DOGMA when trying to prove that there's an invisible creator behind everything. They cherry-pick parts of science wherever it fits them. It's against the very philosophy that we call the scientific method.

i think creationism is based off the bible and i think ur confusing the bible for religion.

  9. i believe something else about those...... which no i dont feel like explaing. but are there anyothers??? any ones that are of other species and more..... evidence like. ( if a few monkey to human fossils is all you've got dont bother..)

I was trying to be nice with you and give a short, basic example. If you require something else that just scratches the surface in terms of evolution, go to a library and read a book, like the one Deadly_nightshade said. Evolution isn't something that you can answer within short answers and one-liners.

well thanks for at least answering instead of a lame insult....

  10. i refuse to read that bc i hate doctrine and religion. dont think im a person who is religious. im something else entirely. well they maybe not giving it a fair hearing but hey it seems mutual. since you wouldnt even look at it and i bet if you did like i said you cant just put the fact that its christian behind you and look at the scientific facts. u claim that creationist dont use facts and scientific method, well theres a creationist actually using facts and u shut it down before u can see it for urself

  11. if u are completely anti creationist, just listen to the facts on evolution and block the rest out.

Oh yes, a movie found on the internet is going to overturn decades of scientific research! :ermm:

as are gaming nerds-like myself- on a forum on a website for a company that makes video games .......:ermm: now theres a place for good scientifical facts
