  1. I felt the same way about this game. I feel like they ram the pirate theme down your throat a bit too much. There is nothing about pirates which I find interesting in any way, regardless of how they are portrayed in pop culture. That and several other reasons, I decide not to play this game. I did not particularly like it and quit about half way through. It just didn't appeal to me. Each to their own.

  2. Its almost impossible to dominate or charm Thaos, the only way that I am able to kill that magic is by using lay of hands on myself, it cures me 125.67 *4 seconds, that's the only way that I'm able to survive but it is stupid having to use one of my precious lay of hands on that. characters such as Aloth, even with the burwalk against elements dies instantly.

lol the first time i ever fought Thaos I used charm on him from munacra arret and it actually hit, not even a graze but a full hit. After that I tried over and over to do the same thing and it never worked ever again. I probably could have won lotto that day.

  3. Im too dumb to deal with adragans without having a priest or goldpact knight in the party lol. Just one adragan and you can blast them away with a single arquebus FoD shot but when there is three or more its just a pain. On PoTD I usually just have my priest put the protection against major afflictions on my fighter then charge them and frag them. I don't know how anyone can solo this game on a rogue on PoTD difficulty, it would have to be extremely tiresome.

  4. All that constitution is fantastic haha you don't even need to use a shield most of the time. Just use those boots which trigger consecrated ground, which get triggered very quickly on a barb, savage defiance and veterans recovery. If you have +50% healing recieved or more you just self heal like crazy and you have so much endurance and health with high CON that you can just use frenzy and not even worry about your HP.

  5. Thanks. :)

I think paladins with Firebrand are a lot of fun. Great spike damage with FoD +Runner's Wounding Shot and good party support.

Runners wounding shot is actually really good, I never bothered with it until you started suggesting it on the forums and it is definately worth it for hard hitting weapons. What is using tidefall with goldpact knight to apply the dot with FoD then use runners wounding shot and envenomed strike. All the stacking dots are awesome numbers flying up like crazy.

  6. If everything seems 'OP' then the problem is leaning towards the actual encounters in the game and the difficulty's not being tuned properly. I have avoided doing a PoTD run because I know they haven't tuned it yet but even on hard the game just seems insanely easy compared to PoE 1 and I am not playing one of the popular broken combos.

  7. A balanced single player game shows that the producers actually care about the game and the experience that the players will receive. Alot of people will generally play the strongest and most broken build, and there is nothing wrong with that but to say that they should use willpower to refrain from that is denying them the right to experience that particular class/combo.

  8. Okay firstly does vulnerable attack work with retaliation?

Also will retaliation from the following items all stack:

    Coat of Ill payment

    Hiro's mantle

    Sutra's supper plate

    Garodh's chorus

Also does burning wounds tick from retaliation?

I was thinking of making a barb which uses all of the above items and barbaric retaliation and still does good damage with bittercut. I don't like fire godlike

mostly because I don't like letting my endurance get that low. I would prefer to use coastal aumaua for the innate resistance to stun and prone and also because they are friggin huge and barbaric.

I figured that because barbs dont have super high deflection even with a shield then they will constantly be triggering retaliation when they get hit.

    Thoughts?

  9. I love and hate priests. They have the coolest buffs and abilities and some amazing damaging spells but they are just so damn OP. So many of their buffs are just ridiculous. Devotions of faithful is OP, shining beacon is OP and is it just me or does it seem to stack with multiple casts? Crows of the faithful is like using a cheat, especially if you combine it with shields of the faithful. Cleansing flame is OP. Triumph of the crusaders is OP also but you don't even need it because your teammates won't even take damage when you have finished buffing the **** out of them The symbols are OP especially symbol of Magran. Some of their abilities are quite well balanced but seriously so many of them are just ridiculous. What kind of annoys me is that they have some extremely helpful abilities such as the immunities they can apply to team members but the fact that they have so many ridiculously overpowered ability kind of takes away from the fun of playing with one in your party.

I played a PoTD run with two priests, sure it was pretty tough to start out but eventually it was actually so broken and easy even on the hardest difficulty. I hope that in Deadfire some of the priests spells will be balanced a bit. Thoughts?

  10. I found that I haven't needed much dexterity for barb in some of my runs because once you use HoF you will almost always trigger blood thirst and then proceed to gib enemy after enemy. But in some builds it would make sense such as if you wanted to make a fast attacking barb which focuses on interrupts.

I have always found high might to be very nice for barb because of how much it can increase the healing you get from savage defiance.

  11. From the first post, it seems like OP is playing with CON 3 casters at an area where he/she is underleveled to be affected by Plague of Insects that much. However, apparently OP is using Aloth, and I don't remember that Plague of Insects being able to incapacitate him in a single casting. So I supposed hyperbole is involved.

I mean this whole game is, at its core, a numbers game. Which is pretty much very similar to other games of this genre. The old IE games too. I have not idea what to say when OP tries to paint PoE in a bad light by dumbing it down to a game of coin tosses, while ignoring or not noticing the fact one can actually manipulate the odds. This game isn't for everyone and perhaps not for OP too.

OP is probably referring to infestation of maggots, which can easily drop a low fort low hp wizard in a single casting if you don't heal or suppress it. This is also where spells like infuse with vital essence come in handy.
