    Are you sure that this:

"I'm now thinking that Stalwart/Readceran situation is based on how you handle Abydon: Preserve > They don't get on and white forge work continues, Tempered > work continues in the White Forge and Readcerans are welcome, Send Eyeless to Wheel > White forge work stops and Readcerans are welcome at Stalwart."

is not the case? Meaning, have you finished the game and gotten a combination that's different from the above?

And, as with a lot of the PoE content, I'm not sure that it's a matter of "best". There are reasons a character would prefer others. It definitely is the most peaceful/prosperous ending for the Dyrwood though.

I'm pretty sure this is not how these endings are connected. If you spare the Iron Flail you will never get a peaceful ending, I tried that. But perhaps they are connected somehow, I've seen another entry in the files where Stalwart stops working on the Forge but prospers as a traditional hunting town. So maybe if you save enough citizens, kill the Iron Flail and banish the Eyeless that's how you get it.

But, personally, I already found my best endings, so I'm not gonna play through all that again just to test it.

Old topic i know. but i feel like i should post this because this pretty much was the only proper google search result when i was looking how to get the best white march ending

You're wrong about needing to kill the iron flail to get a good ending. i spared them (even after murdering their whole camp first) and after forging the hammer i told the stalwart guy to shut up and let them help. or to be exact ("you did not just tell me what to do" XD) which got me the aid of the iron flail. in the ending sliders they seemed to get along great. stalwart realising they didn't have the skill to do it all on their own welcomes both dyrwood and readceras. I also told that one npc that crucible knights should HELP and INSTRUCT at the forge but not take over completelly.

Any more specific information about that? Can we see your ending sliders? :D

  2. Just extracts the whole text and removes the xml tags. Might be a bit easier to read.

    It transforms

Aaah, thanks, it's great, but I already read more than half of them, it's not a problem hehe.

And something I should mention, you can find all the dialogues in ogg vorbis format also, if you want to listen to them.

  3. Ok, there is a lot in the data files, but if you guys are looking just for the idle chit chat between companions like I was, the keyword is BANTER. Yeah, every file that contains this word will contain endless banter between the companions, fun times! Sometimes I have trouble recognizing who is supposed to be talking though. Anyway, just open them with the notepad and enjoy!

  4. You could read the text files...

    Pillars of Eternity\PillarsOfEternity_Data\data\localized\en\text

    Pillars of Eternity\PillarsOfEternity_Data\data_expansion1\localized\en\text

    Pillars of Eternity\PillarsOfEternity_Data\data\_expansion1localized\en\text

Or try to read the files with the quest editor:

    https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/79976-preview-pillars-of-eternity-quest-editor/

That's great, I'll check it out. Do you think the quest editor would include the text I requested, or just quest dialogues? I had a look but I did not use it yet... Anyway, now I have some guidelines! :)

  5. Well, I know I am missing a lot of fun there. I don't change companions all the time in my party, so I am sure I am missing a lot of their interactions, while some others get repeated again and again for some reason, like the one of Sagani and the Devil of Caroc, about snares. I also think there are different interactions based on different pets, Sagani keeps telling her fox not to bother the cat... :) As you can see, I am curious of the rest of these interactions, where can I find them? Has anyone found them already in the game's files?

  6. It's just a luxury I can't afford. My barbarians already waste time to use stalwart defence (instant) then frenzy, when the battle starts. Then this death from above -> tornado combo... Then barbaric blow. By that time, the party pretty much has wrecked the face of every enemy on sight and we just have to finish the kills. Anyway it's my playstyle to focus more on damage and less on debuffing the enemy, I find it cowardly. Now, if only barbarians had a knockdown ability like fighters, monks, rogues etc. have... That would be a wet dream. :D

  7.

This game was created for my barbarian to dragon leap where the enemy crowd is the thickest and then unleash his heart's fury... The rest is just filler really.

Sounds about right really, Barbarian OP.

And now I have my buddy Maneha to join the moshpit! Double jump -> double fun! Also, who on earth thought to give her barbarian yell instead of frenzy as a starting skill? Seriously devs?

  8. My main character, a monk, with PER 15, spotted the ring. I'm sure it doesn't have to be as high as 24. Maybe it's different if you use a custom hire from an inn?

I got the ring, was able to save the women but not the man, lacking the proper spell, but suffered major fatigue afterward. I've never been able to complete this burning house sequence without being fatigued. Is it possible to complete it without being fatigued and thus having to rest again?

Someone on Reddit suggested that it might be only possible with the main char. I don't know, you could be right. To tell you the truth I did not test it, because I play a barbarian, I wanted to save the man also. But as far as story companions and inn companions go, it's 24 alright. This I tested extensively. With Kana, Hiravias and finally a hireling. If the game simply provided us with a visible skill-check number, reddened, we would not have to go into all this theorizing now.

  9. Well, enough waiting. I hired a custom adventurer from an inn, I took matters in my own hands. After testing, I deducted that the minimum required Perception to spot the ring "Frigid Claim" on the woman's hand is 24. This is ridiculously high if you ask me, and also, the game does not give you a hint as it should, you know, those reddened out options you can't click because your Attribute is not high enough, but you can still see you are missing on something? Yeah. this was forgotten. On the other hand, you can cheerfully notice all the cold spells you can't cast, if you enter the burning hut with any other character other than those 3 classes. Splendid... It smells like troll. Anyway, I am happy to have helped any fellow players with this.
