I'd love it if someone could make the correct portraits for Kratos, be great for my 'evil' run (not really evil, just self-interested and dispassionate). He'll be a Barbarian/Monk from The living lands, proficient in the axe.
I found these two artistic portraits, I'm not sure which would be best to work off of so I'll include both:
In what world is Kratos DISpassionate.

@BoeroerIMO Sword and Sickle look pretty cool together. Like sword and kopesh or something
-
Exalted Endurance vs Charge? Focus seems meh...
-
Found an Aumaua with a bear AC on the wiki. Will stick to bear then
They are majestic beasts -
Which animal companion would be the most fitting for a Huana?
Bear seems not too fitting.
Boar? Thinking about the old druid on Maje island...
Sucks that there is no tiger AC
I would prefer to go for Stag for flavor, but read a lot about how bad it is. Is it good enough with CP and Balance mod?
And also I have not found a single stag in the game so far, so I am not sure how well it is to RP...
In general, it seems like there are felines, canines, boar and that's about it for normal animals in Deadfire...At least I am finally decided on the class xD
-
It looks nice enough with a Battle Axe imo
-
I think I will go for Xoti's Sickle after all, and just RP that I am knowledgeable about religions, even though I don't trust the gods xD
Because 60% bonus dmg sounds just far too nice to pass up
-
So far I find the double FoD healing pretty great, so I am inclined to stay with DW after all. If it falls off in usefulness later, I may switch to Ngati's Tusk
-
As much as I'd like the dmg and speed buffs from Xoti's Sickle for a dps unit, I find it hard to justify leveling Religion for this char from an RP pov...
I thought to go for Survival, because bonus Stride from Walking Cloak and bonus damage from Mohora Tanga seem nice.
Or are those 2 meh? -

P.S. Speaking of elf pics, for me it started with Aribeth from NwN)
As a fEmInIsT I find boob-plate armor very annoying xD

With 4 Stealth and 7 Athletics, I can get to 18 Arcana on Shepherd, so that seems nice.
Everyone gets 4 Stealth and 7 Athletics, tho.
-
About Stalker's Patience. Is it worth dumping all my leftover skill points into Stealth for the Flanking bonus? If I can do math correctly, it should only boost the damage by 1% every 2 skill points. Doesn't seem worth it to me, but maybe I am missing something. The (imo) better alternative would be getting Arcana to 15 to have every scroll available to cast.
-
Do I screw myself on PotD if I keep my Shepherd only have 13 base MIG? I would *really* like these over-the-top base 22 PER xD
Mathematically it's only 6% less dmg/healing (because the alternative is 15 MIG and 20 PER)
At least early on MIG doesn't have that much of an impact, but PER very well does. And I will go for crit-fishing later on, so more PER should be quite impactful...And yes, I restarted again because I like the new Orlan pic in MaxQuest's portrait pack so much
-
Less jpeg, moar smooth, btw still my favorite elf pic
Forget it, you already updated it
I think your mod is the most-downloaded-by-me portrait pack ever xD
-
FFS @MaxQuest would you please NOT give me new ideas for my chars xD

Brand Enemy is insane for this then. May have to respec, picked Sworn Rival instead.
For some reason I confused it with Stalker's Link + Torc from poe1 xD
-
Question though... Do Sword Enemy and Marked Prey stack for AC and main or are they mutually exclusive?
As in, does both on the same enemy surpress one of them? -
I went for Shepherd now, Stalker/Kind Wayfarer, and so far it is gorgeous. Did Digsite Drake at level 3 without breaking a sweat (even though my bear died at the end - killed by a straggler Wurm), and even Gorecci Street was possible (albeit incredibly rough) at level 5 - first time ever did I manage this one that early!
My mindset changed from /Druid to /Paladin simply for the fact that I find it hard to... 'justify' a au naturale Druid supporting such a tech-heavy faction like the Vailians xD
-
If you are like me and find the 'brightness' a bit jarring compared to the game's own pics, I played around with the last one a bit in GIMP. Still need to figure out how to do that with the Island Aumaua, not as easy as this one...

So, yeah, I am reading/watching vids up and down about Ranger and Shifter right now.
15/10/15/20/15/15 seems like a not so bad idea. Won't be my main tank anyway, so that is fine.
-
Looking at Druid and Ranger abilities, I feel a bit indecisive (or overwhelmed?) about what to pick from each tree, at least if I want to make good use of the pet. Will go for SC Stalker first, finish that and chances are very high I will go for a second run afterwards

@thelee How did your stats look for the Shifter-Stalker? Did you max PER or INT, or did you go for a balanced spread?
I am a bit torn between either going 15 across the board (RES/INT/PER need to be medium-high for me because talking stats) or lowering CON and/or MIG to bump PER and/or INT higher for this. And yes, I will go for Shifter/Stalker now, that sounds really fancy
Also no armor effects in Spiritshift means I can savely go for Fire Godlike without FOMO -

for beastmaster it's all about that (ranger) accuracy and that bonus AR. bonus accuracy is great for landing good spells for any MC. shifter boar/cat form are already extremely powerful, extreme accuracy makes it extremely easy to overcome possibly the main weakness early on on PotD which is a lack of tools for a shifter to overcome enemy AR (crits do a great job of doing that) or high defenses. stalker's bonus AR propels all shifter forms to heavy armor tier, and bear form to exceptional heavy armor, all with no recovery penalty and no AR weaknesses, and combined with autoscaling is quite a huge leg-up in early PotD survival, whereas normally you're stuck with limited amounts of vanilla heavy armor (which still has various AR weaknesses) or upgraded medium armor for much of the rough early-mid game. coupled with the bonus deflection and add in a woodskin at the start of the fight and formerly scary foes are barely hurting you. Family Pride, for example, is an extremely rough quest if you take it on relatively early and do a non-pacifist take, and I ended up stomping the bardattos and valeras into the ground without breaking a sweat, propelled almost solely on the back of my beastmaster. (i'm doing a SC shifter now and while it's still powerful especially with single-class ability progression, not having the bonus acc and AR really does make it a bit rougher by comparison. kind of hard to express how much of a difference just +1 AR can do, especially on bear form where it can likely put enemies from -50 to -75% damage malus, which is a halving of damage done)
ward ranges are limited, yes, so I had to periodically re-cast them to reposition at times. It was fine for me - for that build I typically didn't have barbarian abilities outside of frenzy for much of the game, so I felt free to re-cast wards. If wards are re-cast, the ward that gets vanished doesn't trigger the "destruction" penalty for the furyshaper.
So, you did a Shifter/Stalker? That actually sounds pretty cool xD

I will probably use the mortars when I don't have to engage or have too large groups. Wish there were more than 2 mortar style weapons...

Interesting. I didn't pay too much attention when watching the LP, so my character knowledge is mostly based on the old games
