Once you're all set up back on your PC steam should shoot you a message about the saves not matching up to the ones on the cloud. There should be two options at this point: "Download cloud files to this machine", or "Upload files to the steam cloud". By clicking the "Upload files to the steam cloud" option, you'll be able to replace your old cloud saves with your newly progressed saves from your trip.

Sorry you ran into this issue. You are correct in assuming that it's related to Fenwalkers; getting hit with a paralyze effect that was less than 3 seconds in length while equipped with Fenwalkers would result in you getting permanently paralyzed.
 
We have fixed the issue, and you should be able to play with the fix by updating to the 3.02 beta =)

Vent Pick was set up in a way that made it only possible to proc once. After this initial proc, it would be unable to ever utilize the Flames of Devotion ability again. This has been fixed in our internal build, and you should see the change reflected in the next patch =)
