  1. Jason Kessler got punched in the face, I'm sure that the Alt-Right will equate this with getting hit by a car.

There are rumors of another march tonight, police in riot gear are stationed around downtown but do not seem to be actively dispersing the counter-protesters who are out today - although they did escort Kessler away from the scene of his attempted press conference after he was struck. He didn't get a platform to spew his bile though as he was drowned out by chants of 'murderer' and 'say her name'.

  2. It sounds like you have personal hang ups about diversity and equality and you are transposing them onto a fantasy universe. My recommendation is to create your own fantasy universe that fits your own world view more accurately.

If they play Tabletop RPGs the Original Poster might enjoy FATAL! o:)

  3.

A State Police Helicopter has gone down and initial responders are saying it looks like it was brought down by gunfire.

    Article linkage?

I'm got my information from the Fire/Rescue dispatch and from people who came back from the call.

Both of the pilots are dead and it has been reported that another person died from the car attack.

  4.

Wonder if that'll count as terrorism

There seems to be a debate whether to call it terrorism, but really, since terrorism is all about intent, it should be called that, and people on the ground were calling it one.

There's going to be a strong push from people here to have it be treated as a terrorist attack.

  5. **** the NeoNazis, the KKK, the Alt-Right and all the rest of these ****.

Currently the National Guard is out in the streets but there are still violent clashes going on.

The person driving the car was a member of the Alt-Right group from what was observed on the ground and the victims were all counter-protesters. Things are expected to get worse as the day goes on and several of the groups have stated they will stay in the area for at least a week so more problems are expected from these ****ers.

  6. And it's a 35GB patch I hear :)

Sigh... Doom was already way too large...

This also makes me wish that the Single Player and Multiplayer had different installations, because I don't touch the MP at all it's annoying that they keep adding things to that cause file size bloat when all I really want is to eventually get through the campaign.

  7. One of my biggest issues with Steam is the forced patching and inability to roll back to a previous version if you run into problems (it was more tolerable when you could disable updates, although you were screwed if you ever had to reinstall the game, but now that they've gotten rid of that feature you're stuck updating no matter what). I want control over the things I own, or license since I know someone will bring that point up, and don't like not being able to do what I want with them.

Let's do a slight detour for the random political news..

The White House just responded to concerns it would release voters’ sensitive personal information by releasing a bunch of voters’ sensitive personal information.

Vox - The White House just posted the emails of critics — without censoring sensitive personal information

You really cannot parody this White House... So much incompetence...

Wait, wait what happened to "doxing is legally and morally ok" stance you all presented when I pointed out that CNN blackmail of the meme creator was wrong?

    Good old double standard :)

    HA! Good Fun!

Considering I didn't post anything about that I think you're pulling things out of your arse!

  9.  i will buy some but living out in the sticks it will probably take some time to get here

I'm a fan of Kryonaut and use it almost exclusively (except for when I use Conductonaut because when you're repasting laptops sometimes it's worth using Liquid Metal).

    *Snip*

That's a known eGPU method and I've seen enough people use it successfully that it might be worth a try even though it likely doesn't have a 100% success rate and you will be loosing the wireless card.

  10. I recently got my semi-ancient 1156 box back from my parents, I had let them have it when they needed a new computer and since they've both got their own laptops now I just got it back, and have been upgrading it to see how much performance I can get out of the old box. So far I've done the following:

Replaced the i3-530 with an i5-760

    Added a 212 Evo cooler

Overclocked the CPU to 3.85Ghz with Turbo-boost allowing it to jump to 4.2Ghz on a single core (I could go higher but that seems around the sweet spot for the chip and I don't want to push the system too hard).

    Added a slightly overclocked 1060 6Gb

Added 8Gb of RAM for a total of 12Gb

Not counting the 1060 the entire cost has been around $100 USD, about $335 with the GPU, and I'm impressed at how well it's holding up. I think the only thing I really need to add now is an SSD boot disk and maybe replace the PSU. At some point I'll also build an entirely new system to compliment my laptop, I'm using a 6700HQ paired with a 1060 that has been repasted with Liquid Metal, but this isn't a bad back-up system and I'm having fun playing around with it.
