I made plans with a rather cute Masters in Library Science student for a second socially-distanced date, and while I'm not trying to be overly hopeful last night's multi-hour zombie-killing escapade was mutually enjoyable (we spent around six hours on Killing Floor, not a bad first date all things considered).

And nothing of value was lost, honestly Reddit should have done that years ago.

I guess if one is really naive, it's possible to assume she is just disparaging poor people but, of course, that isn't exactly a positive take on its own either.
Yeah, even if you completely remove race from the equation it mostly comes off as the old 'poor people don't deserve nice things' argument.

I was told yesterday that Black Lives Matter was an organization created and led by "trained marxists" who in an alliance with antifa aim to kill black people (and have killed hundreds of black people over the last weekend alone).
For some reason my 'this seems rather suspect and they probably don't know what they're talking about' sense is tingling...

Did things as ordered after saying they wouldn't work, then when they don't work am being told I should not have done those things. Life sure is strange.
Got to love 1D107 errors.

Which thread is this being discussed? I just like to see some outtakes
It didn't last for long and there weren't many replies before it got locked.

But then why mention it in the first place? Looks to me like attention-seeking. Heck, until yesterday I didn't even know he was somewhat involved at some point.
Given recent events most studios who worked with Chris are releasing statements about what they plan to do with his contributions and since, at the time it was announced, the community was kinda hyped about Chris being involved in Bloodlines 2 it makes sense that Paradox/Hardsuit Labs would want to say something.

I forgot to look when I was shopping, but where does one go to buy those cloth face covers that hook around your ears? Do regular grocery stores sell them?
Maybe a drug store? I don't think I've seen them in a regular grocery store, at least not around here, but medical supply stores and/or drug stores should have something (assuming they haven't sold out).

Trump's predictably bad response - evidently writing a letter is only something you do in literature class?

Is that really all that prevalent ? Surprised if true. I don't think I've ever heard anyone in my part say it is free as opposed to public.
I've heard a fair number of the more extreme leftists in the US claim that Canada has free healthcare for all because they've never actually looked into it.

I spent entirely too much on a pocket knife but it's to support a local maker from where I used to live that might not make it through the pandemic - plus it's a really unique design.

I think a lot of people are experiencing similar issues. I know a lot of people at work, for example, had dual monitor setups but don't have that at home.
That's one reason we've authorized people to take home their equipment, so they have as seamless of a transition as possible since we're going to be working remote for at least two more month and, realistically, it might be through the end of the year.

My first day of remote work starts in a few hours, while we left one person behind in case of a catastrophic hardware error who will be rotated out bi-weekly, they've closed up our office and wont go out aside from an emergency at the hospital or heat/power plant or the like that has to be fixed immediately, I suspect that I wont be back there for at least two-three months. Aside from that I've been stocking up on food and other supplies and plan to not leave the apartment for the duration aside from a daily hike when the weather allows it.

Lazy weekend with my girlfriend. Ended up tuning into "Meet Joe Black" which... the ending with Anthony Hopkins somehow really struck a nerve. Like a Seriously struck a nerve.
Fun but random fact - my flatmate used to play poker with Mr. Hopkins when she was a film student and he was shooting a movie nearby! Evidently he's a good player.

Yes. that's from the country who was the first to systematically use concentration camps for ethnic cleansing...
Depending on exactly what you mean by concentration camps they were in use before the Boer War, with more systemic use starting in the United Sates during the mid 1800s as the native peoples were driven from their homelands, and were also contemporary to the German genocide of the Herero and Namaqua peoples (I'm not sure off the top of my head if Shark Island and the other German camps came before or after those employed against the Boers but, given American history if nothing else, I'm not sure it is fair to say that the British were the first to employ them).

History will look back on Trump and say "This man was a fool"
And very possibly the first President to have ever been removed from office (although that would leave Pence and he's as bad or worse than Trump in many ways). I suspect that this administration will also signal the beginning of the end of unchecked Executive Authority although my guess is that this will take some time, given the unfortunate amount of power creep that has happened, and people will be less willing to stick to limits once someone slightly more sane and stable is in the White House.

Well, this is different... But I guess the wheels of time keep turning and the site must update...

I'm planning on upgrading my 3950x (although that's also because I'm making a new SFF productivity build for my roommate/editor and so I'll move my current chip over and use upgrade my workstation).
