  1. I try turning Handmaiden to the DS, but she seems to resist.  If I load another area or sometimes get a journal update she reverts a bit.  I can get her to DS mastery but she always goes back.  Is there any way to extend the range of permanent DS points in characters?

Alignment does not shift properly in this game. When you select a character and exit the ebon hawk, sometimes the npc's alignment will shift greatly for no other reason than you have exited.

The game is not supposed to do this.

Dont worry. It has no effect on their influence or any part of the game.

  2. iv wonderd this, sometimes, alot of times, when ever i talk to a party member, or i just get out of combat, for some reason my party members fall to the dark side, and its just random, they can be lightside then u fight, or talk about something, ( not gaining influence) and then they are just dark side, is there a way to fix this problem? or does anyone know why it even happens? I would try to unistall my game but it wont unistall, for some reason the setup folder cannot be found, iv tried everything, its just gone, but the game still plays, but it wont let me unistall/reistall without the folder.

Ive always had a problem with the npc's alignment shifting back and forth for no reason. I just ignore it. certain characters gain influence by lightside acts only and others by darkside acts. It doesnt matter what their alignment is.

Those alignment shifts shouldnt affect the game. It hasnt effected mine.

As far as why it happens...

When you do a lightside act or say something to them their alignment should shift a little towards the lightside.

If you do darkside acts or dialogs it should shift to the darkside.

This has never worked properly in my game but it doesnt affect the game either.

  3. I guess this is my GNC moment?

    Uninstall . . . Wipe all KotOR files . . .Defrag . . . Reinstall . . . Defrag???

    Ideas?

    Anyone?

I actually had the same problem with nar shadaa. When I exited the ebon hawk my game would freeze on the load screen. The only thing I could do was ctrl-alt-delete to shut it down and it would ask if I was sure I would lose unsaved data.

I know for a fact that it was caused by the save game, because I uninstalled and reinstalled KOTOR 2 and had the same problem.

  4. It is the dialogue choice you pick when you enter the academy that results in this glitch. The way around it is to pick the "who are you?" dialogue option when the handmaiden's challange you, then "ok, I didn't come here to fight".

Thats exactly it. DO NOT say you'll lower your weapons when handmaiden asks. If you say anything else it will trigger dialog from kriea and a cutscene.

If you dont get that dialog and cutscene you have to reload.

Just to be on the safe side, I always save before I enter the academy.

  5. You haven't played the light side of TSL, but even if you play DS, you should play as her for about three minutes. Mira is the party member you recieve if you're on the light side and Hanharr is the party member you recieve if you're on the dark side. Mira is:

A bounty hunter who once influenced, can train as a Jedi, but you must train her on Nar Shaddaa.

PS. My first post after leaving Obsidian for a while.

I have played both light side and darkside. She seems to be a metiocre npc, but the game hints that she is somehow important without explaining.

  6. I did a search and got way too many hits (over 3000).

Please answer the question or provide a link to the thread, because I am sure it has been asked and answered before.

Who is Mira? Why is she so important? Why does Kriea save Hanharr to kill her?

  7. i am stuck tryin to figure out the code to be inputted to open the turbolift where Coorts' body is lying.

i have found the encoded transmission, read the log on the terminal in the barracks, and i have seen the holo-recording that shows the code has been reversed.

nevertheless, still all i have is:

            ...

            -X..

            -...

            X

            X..

what the hell do they equate to?

    ive tried it as : 3 , 12 , 3 , 10 , 12 and obviously that doesn't work.

could anyone please enlighten me? : :aiee:

The code to open the door is 7,5,13,17,3.

Its not a math problem. You just need to reverse the code.

  8. I am stuck on Dantooine. I saw the cutscene for the battle between the mercenaries and the militia, then went straight to a black screen. I am there, and I can see the menu and move, but I cant talk to people or see where I am going. So, I used the map in the menu to find my way outside, and I could see. I then walked back in, and I could see fine, but when I tried to talk to someone, the screen went black again. I've searched Team Gizka for a fix and skimmed through the forums here, but I cannot find a solution.

If you can see the menu, then try going to options, graphics, advanced, and change and change the settings. For example, change from high to medium, then back to high. When you close the options menu your graphics will automatically reset.

  9. I have autosave on and I keep reloading and playing through (I've done so about 7 times now) and have even let a friend play the level who's beat the game thinking I missed something obvious.

But after the talk with Xarga I'm sent back to the Mandalorian camp with a message saying your party has died and another purple(blue maybe?) mandalorian walking around my corpse.

Would it be likely to say that my use of a save game editor would cause this?

Could I use the same save game editor to jump one of my saves passed that point to get me on Onderon?

Your save game is probably corrupted. That means you either go to a previous save or start over if you have none.

Save game editors are fan made programs. There is no way anyone here can tell whether your sge is a good one or is butchering your saved games.

Try not using your sge on your autosave. That way if your saved game is corrupted and the autosave is fine you would know that it is your editor causing the problem and not just a bug in the game itself.

  10. Kotor 1 is vastly superior in all things. It has less bugs, does not crash as much, has interesting characters with completed storylines, and it has a complete ending that makes sense without reading extra content.

The only thing good about kotor 2 is that it was made on the same platform and has new content. It is a poor version of kotor 1, but even a poor version is worth playing.

  11. If this was already mentioned, then I apologize.  I only skimmed through this thread.

LIGHT SIDE GLITCH on the PC

When talking to handmaiden, before you leave the jedi academy, tell her about the force.  If you tell her its warm and calming, blah blah blah.  You will get light side points after the conversation is over.

You can have the same conversation with her as many times as you want acheiiving light side mastery before leaving telos.

That would only occur on your comp sorry bout that.

Yes, I have a magic computer, built by elves. It gives me ls point glitch even after I have reinstalled the game.

Do you even talk to handmaiden before leaving Telos academy?

Why dont try it before you say it doesnt work.

  12. In terms of inventory, you can add any item to the game into inventory, tho I can't say with certainty whether or not certain odd or unused items might cause a crash; didn't try.

You can alter influence, experience, character stats, money; you can switch around game portraits and character skins and make Atton look like Handmaiden. I haven't played with much beyond that, tho, so I can't personally give a definitive answer, nor say how stable more complicated edit processes may be - the simple ones I tried were all stable.

Since it works on saved games, just backup the save in case something you try goes loopy.

One crash to watch out for is armor. Some characters cannot wear medium or heavy armor. If you give them this feat using KSE and try to put armor on them the game will crash. Bao dur for example cannot wear most armor because of the graphics on his arm.

As far as lightsabers go, everytime that I have played, once I have built a lightsaber they pop up all over the place. I get more lightsabers than I can ever use.

  13. It has been some time since I've played KotOR II this far, but I am in need of some help. I have boarded Goto's yacht with the Handmaiden and Atton. If I remember correctly you meet back up with the exile on the ships bridge, right? I went to the bridge and cannot find the exile. Is my game perhaps bugged, or is my memory faulty?

Just keep going, you'll find him/her.

This advice goes for all games. Whenever you are lost, follow the enemies. They always get harder and thicker the closer you get.

  14. Q. I am stuck in the Onderon Palace. I cannot disable the second terminal

    A.

This is caused by telling the Captain at this station that you will disable the other station while you already have disabled the other station. To fix this either reload a save before you said that or use the KSE found here on your save.  Under Quest find "The Royal Deadline" and change it to 40 (don't forget to "commit changes"!)

But you already got past it anyways... just so you know what caused it; not to get stuck a second time...

That doesnt work. The savegame editor allows you to change the quest in your quest log, but it does not affect your quest progress in the game.

  15. If this was already mentioned, then I apologize. I only skimmed through this thread.

  16. You can only find the escaped criminals if you side with czerka.  Jana Lorso will agree to send you to their location.  Otherwise, the escaped criminals will be ordinary mercanaries.

Not necessarily, you can find them if you side with the ithorians as long as you don't get the quest until you've completed the main quest. :)

What are you talking about? You have to side with one or the other in the main quest to get to the planet's surface. You can go back to citidel station but you cant go back to the surface. There is no way to complete the quest after the main quest.

  17. on telos where the hell do you find the criminals??? i found them at cerka and told grenn but he said i needed proof. Where do you find them in the restoration zone?

You can only find the escaped criminals if you side with czerka. Jana Lorso will agree to send you to their location. Otherwise, the escaped criminals will be ordinary mercanaries.

If you side with the ithorians, then dont even ask about them, unless you intend to lie to Lt. Grenn.
