  1. Spades be spades.

Bruce Jenner is an attention seeking superficial lunatic with a twisted soul, to put it simply and nicely. That's what one could say before he decided to play girl.

Playing girl is just an extension of his lunacy. Not much to see here in regards to him specifically.

Sad perhaps it may be, but it is what it is, and not to be helped by anyone here.

If there's a worthwhile story here, it's that on the march towards the New Dark Age insanity is lauded, promoted, and considered healthy and normal, rather than recognized for what it is. That's a deeper philosophical discussion than may be feasible to be reasonably had on this forum (and most other internet forums) however. We are indeed now long upon that dark road.

Careful, that's an awfully reasonable way of looking at it.

  2. Are you simply quoting Milo Yiannopoulos?

I find it mind boggling how anyone can shoot him down when he makes perfect sense.

Transgender isn't about love or attraction, like heterosexuality and homosexuality are. It's about how one perceives themselves. Just because I perceive myself as a dragon, doesn't make me a dragon. It doesn't mean everyone should view me as a dragon when I'm biologically a human. It's a mental problem and instead of working harder to find the underlying cause, we lump it into the pile of equal rights. Would you take Otherkin seriously if they campaigned like trans people?

Social justice warriors have perversely twisted gender dysmorphia into an equal rights issue like homosexuality or race.

  3. There was a good response from a trans person to an ELI5 about it. Basically, there is little current psychotherapy can do for it with our current understanding, so gender reassignment is really the only way to let them feel like they're normal. They have to undergo a lot of assessment and therapy before its considered, and is used as a last resort.

It was a good response because unlike a lot of the talk nowadays it was recognized as a mental illness instead of "how dare you talk like we're not normal"

The current celebratory attitude towards it baffles me though. Its like saying" oh how brave it is for you to come out as a schizophrenic, we need more schizophrenic representation in the media. "

That's fine and I understand, but the way our medical understanding progresses, I don't think we should be condoning things like this...

Who? and why should anyone care?

Untreated mental heath disorders shouldn't end in mutilation because of misguided political correctness.

Do better. As it stands now, you can apply that argument to anything.

Take your straw man somewhere else, guy.

  4.

What did I expect clicking on this thread title?

    The unpleasant truth?

    More like gossiping.

If you have any actual topic to debate rather than Bruce Jenner transition such as transgender issues or whether or not it is a mental disorder then please state that intent on the OP. I can't say that I ever watched the Kardashians or cared about their continued existence.

Bruce Jenner is just another victim of the radical lefts misguided views of gender dysmorphia.

One day transition surgery will be written next to electroshock therapy, lobotomy, and ADD.

  5. Not that I can think of. Though, unless he has somehow shed all Y chromosomes he is still male. An intensely ugly abomination of a male.

It's the cruelest thing to let these people mutilate themselves instead of treating them... who's bright idea was it to tack T onto L G and B?

  6.

I don't make assumptions about groups of people

Nonsense. Everybody does. The trick is (1) attempting to be aware of making those assumptions and (2) being able to set them aside when they're pointed out to you.

Human cognition is based on categorization and generalization. It's just the way we tick. It's how we deal with the resulting biases that count.

Once again give me examples of where I have made assumptions of groups of people ?

Your reading comprehension leaves a lot to be desired. Try reading it again. If you want I can help you.

Why was it removed? Because it certainly wasn't homophobic.

It was removed because it offended a trans woman who asked for it to be removed.

That's easily the dumbest reason to remove something.

    "It made me butthurt."

    "REMOVE IT!"

Not really, this is actually a valid reason for changes in many things in civil society  like politicians retracting comments or misplaced marketing campaigns that are considered offensive to certain groups

People say or do things, sometimes these things  are then criticized. Then there is an assessment of the issue and a change is made and sometimes an apology

This is the way the world works

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that is not how the world works. That's how politics works. In the real world, you will be hurt and offended. You either deal with it, or you cry to mommy and have mommy do something about it. You're a victim, and you teach others how to be victims. You should be teaching people how to deal with the real world.

Which country do you live in Faustian? I am interested because it may have something to do with your view " that things cannot be altered or retracted once they are done or said  "

And this definitely doesn't just apply to politics but my point permeates all aspects of a democratic society

"Mommy he called me a name!"

"Well I'll call his mother and he'll be grounded!"

"Well that turned out well for me, I think I'll complain every time I don't like something instead of just standing up for myself and not being a baby."

Can you respond to my question, what country do you live in?

I want to understand the context to your views

Where do you think I'm from? Clearly you've already geographically stereotyped me.

In which case, I can see how you'd think crying to someone to get what you want is the best course. You know who else does that? Babies.

    Indiana allowing discrimination is homophobia.

A harmless limerick in Pillars of Eternity isn't homophobia.

You people need to learn to pick your battles, or you look like petty little children.

Calling me a homophobe for not agreeing with you also doesn't help your case.

Thankfully we don't have to stand for it.

So the limerick is finally back if you want it ...well that is significant and should change your gaming experience by exactly.......I'm not sure how this changes your gaming experience ?

Now before someone says " how does it change your gaming experience by having it in the game "

It doesn't but its an issue because of what it represents so for me removing it is more about  the principle   :)

And that issue is about homophobia

The limerick isn't homophobic. Would it be misogynistic if it were about waking up next to an ugly fat woman instead of a transvestite?

Are you asking if the  limerick was about  a guy who kills himself because he had sex with a fat old  women would I find it controversial?

Yes I would..of course. But it wouldn't be misogynistic,  I would say its an issue of ageism...but overall I would just find it crass and childish

The ****in limerick wasn't meant to be taken literal, but all the gung-ho queers have certainly taken it that way and have in effect censored a backers words. Furthermore none of you even care about it, you're just glad you get to stick it to the straight guys again, because you can't get them to "Stick it" to you.

You got it buddy, anytime I get to undermine  straight guys I do it...you have exposed the great homosexual grand plan

The level of the maturity and logic of your posts is deteriorating at an alarming rate, you sound almost  hysterical. My advice is take a break from this discussion for a while, you are not thinking clearly

Queer logic does indeed drive me to hysterics. You guys need to grow the **** up, it isn't the 1980s anymore. Your orientation isn't strange or taboo, but your crusade against anything hetero is starting to grind some gears. Ease the **** off already.

EDIT: There is no good reason the limerick was removed. Other than some homosexuals got butthurt over it, and it wasn't anything to get butthurt over. We're raising a generation of victims, and the grown men and women, gay or not, who act like victims on the daily are not helping the problem.
