  1. In 1.03.0530, the Barbarian's Threatening Presence is bug. When Barbarian die, Threatening Presence will trigger in infinite loop until afflicted characters die. 100% reproducible every time in any save.

Companion lose inventory items when switch out still exist, but listed as fixed. Not happen 100% of the time but often enough.

And some status effect some time stuck after battle (I think it is just a graphical glitch, no real effects.)

  2. I noticed this one as well. Was playing yesterday, recruited Eder he's lvl 3 same as my PC and checked his stats and his weapon focus is there also with guardian stance iirc, decided I'm not happy with my character rerolled another one today though this time, I went straight to Gilded Vale (ignored the wolves and bandits with the chef in valenwood) recruited Eder he's level 2 this time (my PC is level 2) and noticed that he doesn't have his weapon focus and guardian stance, figured I'd just get those the next level  and to my surprise I can only select 1 fighter talent.

All of this is in patch 1.03 btw playing on steam if that makes a difference.

    I think it like this:

At lv3 Eder should have Defender, Rapid Recovery, and Weapon Focus. If you recruit him at lv2, you lose extra talent. Unrelated to the patch.

  3.

I started over with the new patch. When I picked up Kana, his stats were

    Mig 16

    Con 12

    Dex 9

    Per 14

    Int 16 (17 with hat)

    Res 10

    So -1 int?

His Base Int is 17 like pre-patch, just that his +1 int hat doesn't give the +1. And When remove the hat he got -1 penalty. I think Dev erroneously delete the int bonus from the hat. You can click at his Int to see the he has base 17.

If you save then load, his stat will be corrected and will be the same as original.

Correction: This mistake was exist before patch 1.03.

I think your Sagani's stats are wrong. There is no change to Sagani's stats, only her pet.

My mistake, your Sagani post-patch attributes seem to be correct, only the pre-patch is incorrect.

  7. Patch 1.03 seem to prevent this bug from occurring again when save/load in a recruiting area, and retroactively fix attributes, defenses, AOE, and Healing Bonus.

As patch 1.03 doesn't retroactively fix endurance and health, the workaround is still applicable.

Latest CT file (credit to tfigment, but corrected by me): https://www.dropbox.com/s/8zh5l024c8mhvle/PillarsOfEternity_1.0.3_figment_v10_corrected_and_add_end_bonus_v2.CT?dl=0

  8.

It seem path 1.03 fixed stat-stacking bugs on attributes and defenses, but not on endurance and health. I tested with my affected save file.

I confirm that, my Edér have around 100 health over what he should. No big deal for my part, but I guess other may be less lucky...

Is it only the retroactive part of the fix that isn't working or can you still increase Eder's health infinitely by saving and reloading on Gilded Vale's map?

I believe, from my testing, that the issue of stat-stacking bug due to save/load in the recruiting area is solved, but the retroactive fix doesn't work on endurance and health. AOE, Attributes, and Defenses is fixed though.

  9. Can someone explain this to me as I've fallen foul of it and want to restart. For example, it is just the literal map that your can't save in or is it also locations inside that map (so for Eder and Aloth, is it fine to save in the Black Hound Inn or Temple of Eothas without encountering that bug - or as they're locations accessible from the Gilded Vale map are they off limits too)?

I guess if it's the latter maybe I'll just wait until the patch as there's no way I could do the Temple of Eothas without a save.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just tested it myself. I guess for anyone who didn't know it's literally only the map itself, internal locations are fine to save in (so saving in the Black Hound in is okay for Eder and Aloth but saving outdoors in the Gilded Vale is not). I guess this was already covered somewhere in the thread, but I couldn't be bothered to trawl through pages to find out.

Patch will come out today if nothing went wrong during the last stage of QA.

Hey guys, check the link out! We can fix this bug without waiting for the patch and can continue to play now. original.gif

I tried, and it works, except figment's table lack the endurance (called stamina in the table) bonus, which can be faulty as well. I modified figment CT file to include the endurance bonus successfully. My chars are all fixed. I will try to upload my mod CT file here.

yes I'll just let this stranger run whatever executable they want on my desktop, because ... i trust the internet. hacking pointers is cool, but no way am I using this.  Stay in school!

Yep, it isn't for the faint of heart.

  11. I followed the reddit guide, including changing accuracy bonuses to zero.

Now, all of my characters accuracy is out of wonk.

They all have 9 accuracy, and when I equip Eder with his weapons, his accuracy drops to 1.

    Any help?

edit: Just checked my save game from right when I first acquired Eder. His Accuracy bonus was actually 30 at the time. The Eder in my recent saved game only had 20(?). Regardless, why does the guide say to set those to 0 as well? Clearly this is not correct?

That guide was written before there are Accuracy settings. Accuracy depends on class, so compare the value from the newly created char's value.

  12. A fix for this is easy to program

We know from the CheatEngine guide that the game stores a stat and its bonus in memory. When a savegame is created, the game serializes the variables and writes them to the savegame. When a savegame is loaded, the values get deserialized. I guess this is, where the bug happens, sometimes the bonus gets loaded incorrectly.

When items are equipped and skills are used, the bonus gets recalculated but only relative to the current bonus. (current bonus + effects = new bonus).

So what should be done is to recalculate the absolute bonus completely when items get equipped or skills are used (all effects + all equip = new bonus)

Yes programming wise it is easy to fix, and I read a dev's tweet that he got the fix for this already, presumably retroactive. They will try to release patch 1.03 before this weekend.

Where is freaking fix for this ? Nearly all players have this bug, so nearly all players have unbalanced, not intentional by devs experience!!! COM'ON, THIS SHOULD BE FIXED ASAP. ALL PLAYERS CAN'T PLAY NORMAL!

It's not like patches grow on trees.

Give them time to analyse the problems, produce a working solution, test it and release it.

If so simple bugs "grow on trees" (duplication stats is one of the oldest and simple bug in this kind of games), so the patches should!

Where is fix ?????? Take money and release broken game. Yes, 6 days and the Pillars of Eternity is still broken, unplayable nearly for all players who want to play fair! Shame on you Obsidian.

PS: I will not use some weird, cheat stuff from reddit.

It's up to you whether to use or not. I gave it to ppl who wanna continue to play while waiting for patch. No need to bad mouth stuff ppl who just try to help other players, even if you feel it weird.

  14. Wow, this really screwed my game.

I had done a lot of combat mechanics testing early in my game, where I was saving and loading in quick succession.

Turns out my Eder has about 70 deflection while naked now.

    Sigh.

I'm about 20 hours in and really don't want to start over...

And you don't need to. I believe the fix in the patch will be retroactive, and there is a workaround for the time being a few posts above yours.
