  1. yeah, I am just trying to stop him from getting more people to sacrifice....honestly^^
  2. so...randomly slaughtering Gilded Vale has no repercussions when I enter Defiance Bay? And what happens if I kill of one area in Defiance Bay, will guards in the other areas attack me and commoners flee (or just everyone turn hostile)? Any major baddies to deal with? (think the cowled wizards of BG2 TPing in when you cast)
  3. Well, maybe not everyone, but after having finished the game as a benevolent being, considered a Champion in basically all areas, I now want to go full Belkar: So, who can I kill without repercussions? And where do I have to weigh pro/con? I heard that I can kill without getting into any real trouble. Who else is there to kill? And what happens if I just kill people on the streets in the city? Thanks in advance
  4. yeah I agree that it is probably not worth it. especially since you get a decent reward from the sailor for returning anyway
  5. you need to go to Twin Elms, once you get there the Guards tell you that Defiance Bay has opened its gates again
  6. honestly? hardly ever, basically only before boss battles or when my party was majorly exhausted . Quite a bit in the earlier levels but after that I was always capped with my camping supplies and couldnt pick the ones up that were in dungeon chests (though I often rested there in order to not waste them). Once you get to Defiance Bay / get your Stronghold you're usually at the point where a single fight won't risk your party's lives. When I did the "endless" dungeon, I accidently skipped a few levels and then had to fight my way back out, that was the only time where I got close to running out of supplies. Just try to not skip too many quests or advance to areas that your party cant handle yet. Higher level = easier fight
  7. Take Eder as your main tank, he does that pretty well. Your Barb should never wear heavy armor. Medium at most. OR you need many other damage dealers. I had in my team: 2 melee (Eder & Pellagina(?) - that Paladin) + 2 ranged supports (Durrance & Kana) + 2 ranged damage-dealers (My mage + Aloth/Grieving Mother (Cypher)). I used the Paladin as my melee-DPS (yeah I know, horrible idea) - and still managed to win the game on normal not using any scrolls/food/potions. You just have to accept that your Barb can either deal damage or tank it, not both. Also ÍNT seems to be a good stat for Barbarians as it increases the duration and size of AoE-effects.
  8. that seems unlikely, some spells for example deal damage AND debuff the enemy at the same time. So either the debuff would be weakened (as per your suggestion) or you'd have to completely split up the spell making it incredibly confusing for the player. My prefered solution is having the "per tick"-damage, so longer duration also means higher damage. Higher Might means higher damage per tick, higher Int more ticks. seems to me to be the most natural way to deal with it.
  9. while we're at it: I'd love some better selectioning options at the merchants/stash: merchant: "only display stuff I sold you", "display stuff you always wanted to sell me" and "all" for example or that clicking on the weapon/armor/equipment-icon actually either moves all those items to the top of the list or just only displays those. similarly a "sort"-funtion for my stash (and merchant interfaces), arranging weapons by their value for example.
  10. he is only there during the night. and if you know the passphrase you can get him to trade with you (he got nice jewels^^) he can also tell you where to go for the stolen chest-quest you can get in the same part of the city.
  11. The first time you meet her she walks away, thats normal. She will reappear once the issue with the trading company is solved (one way or another) and THEN you will have the option to recruit her.
  12. okay then maybe I just didn't notice the talent any earlier, my bad it seems.
  13. Careful: I think most factions have 2 questgivers, for example the Mafia has: only the 2nd quest from the main questgiver will lock you out of quests from the other factions. In this case . So: ALL quests you can get the first time you enter either factions HQ can be done in the same game. but all quests you get once you complete one of those lock you in for that faction. But they will say that quite plainly in the dialogue, right before you accept the quest (or don't, if you dont want to associate yourself with them). --- I think it's obvious enough, However I was a bit disappointed that there were so few quests/interactions with your faction. I mean in BG you get to do a whole lot of quests for the Thieves Guild, and here it is basically 2-3 quests and then they don't play a role for the rest of the game?
  14. I think you only get it once you have started the final part of the game (after you've been to Twin Elms, basically)
  15. it seems turns happen when you advance quests. but I think there is more too it, don't know anything specific either. Concerning the quests: no, shouldn't matter. edit: I found Kana's "summon 3 skeletons" extremely useful in the early game and lategame she supposedly rocks with the "faster ranged attacks"-chant. I still swapped her out as well, after finishing her quest.
  16. there is a trader in the market place of Twin Elms (well, the village....Heartsong?) that pays 2-3 times the normal selling price for items. In case you still need money lategame (don't expect it) I never understood what the Dungeon is actually good for. Yeah storing prisoners, but what's my benefit? a more "benevolent" reputation since I kill less? more exp/loot somehow? The Merchant has some decent items but nothing unique (I think he has everything in "fine" and getting fine plate armor might be interesting for you, if you build it early on). I really think the craft/curio-shop that sells the body parts is a good building, since improving your stuff to exceptional level is (at least on easy/normal/hard) sufficient until the end of the game
  17. I thought they were just next to the statue (NW, towards the entrance to the lower levels). But then I hardly had any visitors in my playthrough.
  18. I think the botanic garden and the craft shop (?) are also decent options since they give you free recipe parts, at least if you're into crafting/enchanting. I also think that you can buy the mindflayer-brains in that shop, so you can do some "exceptional" enchantments.
  19. remembered another one, to which I am almost sure I know the answer by now, so just want to make sure: 5. Traps is the maximum amount of traps you can lay before a fight 2?
  20. Blunderbuss definitely isn't rubbish -> Ruffian is okay for some characters. I agree that the grouping seems a bit weird but then at the same time I kinda like the idea of grouping it like that and think it's okay the way it is.
  21. Didn't Like Sagani either. I mean she is nice in terms of personality, but gameplaywise...meh, at that point I had found my playstyle and she just didn't fit in and didn't bring enough to the table (like the Grieving Mother does). @OP: with the 13th-floor-doorbug...do you mean the door where you have to say a password or the one to the "secret" treasure chamber? The former doesn't seem buggy to me, you just have to a) advanced the main story enough to learn the language (which you probably have) and then first talk to the doorman and then the spirit before you can open it. If it is because of the treasure:
  22. You will be told when Defiance Bay is open for business again. so just play along for the moment and know that you will indeed be able to return.
  23. Hey there, I guess I could solve some of these questions by checking the handbook, and considering I just finished the game on normal, I can say that the answers aren't really vital to me enjoying this great game. But still, if someone finds the time to answer these, I'd be grateful. 1. Bounties: 1.1 Are they random? In my first batch of 4 I had one hiding in an area that I can access only rather late in the game if they are random I probably just got unlucky 1.2 Do you always get coppers as a reward from the warden? I only completed the (I am trying to be on the safer side here^^) bounties, so I am wondering if later bounties might give items (apart from the ones you loot from your enemies corpses). 1.3 is there a maximum number of bounties you can collect in the game? 2. Attacks on your Keep/Defending it. Is there any way to judge if your defense is strong enough or do you always have to be there for the manual resolve if you want for castle not to suffer? 3. Mindcontrol/Charms Is there any way to fight those? In the mid- to lategame there are a few enemies that use that, and they seem to have a success rate of >90% AND always choose to go for the one person in my team with the highest will save (does high int attract them?^^) The paladin-suppression (lvl 2) and the spell that is supposed to reduce the duration of mindcontrol and charms/strengthen your saves seem to do absolutely nothing 4. Reputation Does your Benevolence/Deceptiveness/... have any influence over the ending of the game or is it "just" for dialogue choices and maybe Paladin/Priest-faith-things? (I had more, but forgot them over the glorious feeling of having just beaten the game )
  24. I had no trouble either, actually I think I got 2 sabres back afterwards. So yeah, technically there probably is a bug with that thing.
