okay, testing...
spoiler here

I can't really say which I prefer, and haven't completed TSL yet. But I couldn't tell you which of thr Tirlogy is my favorite either, as I enjoy taking them all in as a whole. And no, I don't mind Ewoks. (but thought Jar-Jar was lame, like most).

just under 40 hours in, and still loving every minute. I am now a Jedi Master, and
the Handmaiden is my padawan! She makes a great Jedi Guardian.
Also, even though I'm a lightsider, I don't use those "shielding" force powers -- well, except for Speed, but that's neutral to force alignment. Never used them in the last game (both playthroughs), and don't plan on it this game -- I prefer Force Valor and Battle Meditation buffs, or stims.
Thank you!
Sorry! How do you black-out spoilers? And bear in mind that my spoiler may not be the same as yours!
again, all apologies....

I got mine on Onderon/Dxun as well -- do several of the quests there (especially the ones for Mandalore), and you should have one before you're done with that planet. I happened to get two of them by the time I left.....
-
I just got the Trilogy for Xmas, and man, too much KotOR2 on the brain -- in RotJ, as Luke addressed Jabba and told him to hand over Solo or they'd all die, I could imagine seeing other dialogue options......and the usage of various Force Powers throughout the movies.
lame and nerdy, I know.

still playin it, but as of right now (30 hours, first playthrough, LS male sentinel), I love it. My personal GotY.

i bought that FALLOUT double-pack a couple years ago, due to all the positive word-o-mouth, but just couldn't get into it.
of course, I don't game on my PC, so that may have been partly to blame!
Install and play it right now, because that is some serious basphemy on your conto
heh, Figured as much!

well, Skills play a bigger role now than ever before, as your proficiency with any one of them determines in some cases what can be said by yer PC, as well as what you can make at the workbenches. It adds s'more depth, and allows for much more customization.

I liked parts of KotOR, but as a whole it left me in a meh feeling. I am not talking about parts of a game, but the whole thing. I enjoyed the whole experience of BG2. I can't say the same with KotOR 1.
Although I can look back and say I enjoyed KOTOR 1 as a whole, I had no prior experience with BioWare and honestly expected the game to be crap -- this was due to the recent SW movies, of course, not to mention the SW software history! But as I've said before, KOTOR made me a fan again....
-
Why even bother? Let the series die off so something better canbe worked on.
!? <_<
Are you a hater, or just jaded Hades_One? I mean, I know it's better to expect crap and get gold, but damn.....

Rampant leveling, unchallenging gameplay, and uber munchkinism do not make a good game.
uber munchkinism? I only remember one or two of them in the game.
and I'd recommend playing on Difficult from the get-go, since nothing has really changed for the combat system, except for some minor stream-lining.
but even on Difficult, it ain't really hard. Neither was KOTOR 1, but this one is a bit more challenging.

If you haven't played KOTOR2 yet don't read reviews or come on the forums because you will be convinced he game is worse than it really is when its a great game. If you listen to what other people have to say about things like the ending and bugs it will most likely stay in the back of your head when your're playing and ruin the experience. This game is great don't let other people give you spoilers or ruin it by pointing out flaws before you play it. The ending wasn't even bad because it was really a begginig of a new journey and answered many questions if you asked questions and listened to the dialouge for example manycomplain about the game not revealing Canderous as Mandalore but if you listen to the dialouge somebody in the ending says this won't say who because I don't know how to do spoiler tags. By reading what other some people have to say you'd thank this game is a bug's nest. If you are worried about bugs the simple solution is doing the obviuos thing and making 2 save files that way if one gets corrupted you will have another.
Discover the beauty of the game yourself by avoiding others opinions and criticisms. It worked for me (w00t)

They are very unclear. Atris looks like idiot to me now.
For once I agree with you. The chronicles make no sense to me at all. They seem like an alternate universe to the games and the stories they tell.
I think the stories are peiced together through various books and comics -- never read them either. I stopped reading around the Revan chronicle, for fear of KOTOR2 spoilers....
-
Part IX: Darth Revan Rising
Time frame: 3,963 B.B.Y.
Period name: Knights of the Old Republic
SWEET.
-
What are they about? I don't want to read them if they contain spoilers for KOTOR2.
pretty cool background stuff, actually! Like some history with Naga Sadow, etc.
-
I enjoy Insanity as well, but usually have a team member cast that from the get-go, before I come in and clean-up
-
Revan was whatever you imagined him/her to be. Other than that, Revan had no character.
Some would say, that's what makes the greatest character of all...
honestly, This is why I believe I loved KOTOR so much, and am destined to never forget KOTOR2 as well. the Exile is cool, imho -- or atleast my version is!

Morrowind had some incredible strengths, and some incredible flaws.
Agreed. It can be wholly immersive, and has such depth to the gameplay.....except for it's melee combat, lack of character development, glitches, bugs, etc. That said, I clocked in countless hours anyway.
The only game I've ever quit playing due to bugs/glitches was the PIRATES OF THE CARRIBBEAN -- it coulda been a great RPG, imho, but the AI for the party members, or rather lack thereof, completely killed it for me.
As much as I loved MORROWIND, I still prefer story-driven RPGs, especially with strong supporting cast/party-members. Although every session of MORROWIND was like a new adventure, it also felt like a lonely one......even if I was a vampiric god that could leap long stretches of land in a single bound.
-
that sucks, guys......sorry I can't help. I haven't had this issue yet, 30 hours and counting. I do run into some minor graphical glitches, but nothing like this.
-
currently (i'm only 30 hours in, but only one planet "completed" since Telos....), it's still gotta be Force Storm -- I may be a lightsider, but that doesn't mean I can't make em fry like bacon.
-
And HK-47 is as funny as ever
At least when you have influenced him a little. He cracks me up :D
I heard he shall reveal the Meaning of Love....!! (w00t)
CAn't wait.

"Now new conversation threads are opened up via events in the game, and influence rather than leveling up. It was silly that Carth wouldn't talk to me unless I got an abitrary ammount of xp. Even if nothing new happened in the plot, but now because I hit 10,000 XP he has something new to say. "
Huh? It wasn't always about leevelling up. Lots of times they start talking to you depending on the area you in or the story point youa re in.
Are people saying that KOTOR2 npcs don't approach you at all or very little in KOTOR2 to talk to you? If so, that sucks... They are robots there for your pleasure...
To clarify a few things. To my knowledge it wasn't about xp triggers in the first game, but plot/action triggers. Which I found as a superior system to what's in place now.
To answer your question: Party members in KOTOR 2 barely talk to you. You have to talk to them. It's rare for conversations to break out between party members, as well--unlike the first game. Thirdly, party members comment a lot less on the light/dark decisions that you make. Basically, in KOTOR 2 party members are a lot more... quiet.
I can't believe there are apologists here saying that I'm wrong.
Doesn't this tie-in to influence?

I mean, my party-members haven't gotten to rippin in to each other (well, except at the beginning), but the Handmaiden definitely gave me a brief "look" when I said I didn't mind being chased by two Twi-lek twins....!!
*
The Handmaiden also seems to comment the most, and I believe this is because I've been spending the most one-on-one time with her.
*
Kreia just won't shut up at times -- not that I mind, but damn, she can be real bossy. Great stuff.
*
And Visas was very quick to say "NO!" when someone mentioned she slip into something that left little to the imagination....lol

Personally, I don't mind talking to my party members. I am their leader, afterall, and they are all cowed by my presence. Or something.

I'd like it to start off with someone new to the Force -- I watched the SW Trilogy this weekend, and it would be nice to get a lightsaber right off the bat, as Luke did, but to learn the Force Powers in a more organic way....I'd love a KotOR3.
