Hi all signed up just for this. But my game is running fine on a mid-2011 iMac. I'm past the first initial act, character customisation etc. Perhaps there's an issue with MacBook Pros?
FWIW it's working fine on my 2014 MBP (though performance leaves much to be desired).
Posting this here in case it helps the devs find the issue.

BTW Josh just posted on SA that Sneak Attack scales with power level now.
Can you post a link to his SA post?

Can I just use the dll without the launcher? All this launcher stuff feels like it needlessly complicates things, in my opinion at least.
Short answer is no. Launcher is needed now to perform patching on the fly. Or something like that anyway

Assuming the launcher does (it should). We switched to using a "Patch in place" system rather than trying to collect DLLs and transform them ourselves.
Thanks !
Might be a silly question but, is it possible to NOT use the Launcher at all (just like we used to have to do before)? It's actually quite a hassle to have to install mono/etc. on Mac.

New version is up on the nexus. Has not had much testing, though I confirmed that Cipher Focus and Fast Sneak work. Use at your own risk, etc.
Obviously Per Encounter Spells doesn't work with the introduction of Spell Mastery. I will try to fix and/or provide options to enhance Spell Mastery instead. Feel free to suggest ideas.
Will it work on Mac ?

Still no Mac OS X?

I am happy to help on OS X !

Finally !
All the changes that were teased so far sound interesting. I might start another play through when TWM2 comes out.

Will Obsidian migrate to Unity 5.2 with 3.00 patch?
Josh said somewhere that it is not going to happen for the WM2 or patch 3.00, but it's definitely something they're considering for a potential sequel.

They introduced an opacity slider for when characters are occluded by the environment. I love the change and wonder why it wasn't mentioned in the changelog.
Really? That's nice. Been one of my pet peeves since the Beta.

Awesome, thanks for listening to us. This is going to make things much easier for everybody.

I played the game fully.
Twice.
On a mac.
Had a very enjoyable experience. Didn't have any game-breaking bug, except the double-click equip bug pre-patch 2.0

So is part 2 going to be an expansion to the end game? Been kind of boycotting this part 1 because I feel nickle and dimed by getting it in two parts,
This is really a non-issue imo:
- The expansion doesn't end on a cliffhanger at all. Plus there's a reasonable amount of content in it.
- You can buy the two parts for a discounted price now (https://www.paradoxplaza.com/pillars-of-eternity-the-white-march-expansion-pass), so it's not going to cost you more than if PART1 and PART2 had been released together.

Gosh, I can't think of anything more boring than another piraty setting with lots of boring water and boring, tropical islands and random "arrrrs" and "hoist the sails, ye lads". Nu-uh. Go and play those sh**** Risen Games, there you have them Pirates. Yo-Ho.
This.

A certain famous wizard's skull gives you a powerful summon. Visit Cragholdt for more info!
This one is seriously OP btw. I remember gritting an enemy for over 500 damage using the hammer spell. That was fun!
But then again, he's supposed to be the best Wizzard in Eora so why not...

I just wanted to say that I throughly enjoyed the new music in the game.
I already liked the original content, but I think I like the expansion music even more.
Amazing job !

I've just steamrolled through the main game+expansion using a fighter on hard.
Basically using a variant of this build by AndreaColombo:
http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/80748-buildpreview-lady-of-pain/
I adjusted the gear to use more of the loot found in the expansion+soulbound weapons (also didn't want to sacrifice Eder to get a Might bonus), but this is a DPS machine.
I got more crits/damage than anyone in my party.
Also, I never used Defender.

I don't understand... who wouldn't want something like that?
-
I was just about to say, I tried the current mod files with the 2.0.1 beta patch (OS X) and I couldn't get past the loading screen.
-
EDIT: I almost forgot. Most importantly I'm curious how/if they are eventually gonna address the additional XP gain through the expansions(s). I'm in no mood to steamroll with an over-leveled party through the original content, just because I'd like to take the new NPCs with me as early as possible.
Well to be fair (and without too many spoilers) , it's possible to get at least one of the two new companions without doing any quest or fighting.
The other one is trickier, and you'll have to fight your way to find them.
Mild spoiler below:
To give you an idea I got this companion at LVL 6. I knew where to find them so went straight to them. I didn't complete any quest in doing so (therefore did not gain much XP in the process).
-
Maybe it's just me but I'm enjoying the extension areas more than the base game's.
Although this is also partly due to 2.0, and the fact that I started the game with a much better character build.
-
Wow that's a lot.
Loading times are always < 10 seconds for me (and usually < 5 s). But I do have an SSD drive, which I suspect makes things better.
-
I wish for larger maps, with slightly smaller enemy density.
Essentially have less combat encounters, but more memorable ones.
This is really straightforward thing to do (since there's no combat xp), but will go a LONG way to improving the game world.
TL;DR less trash mobs, larger maps
EDIT: oh, and better f****g pathfinding !
