  1. only other game that can come close to what your looking for (on xbox) is Jade Empires.

its a little more twitch based then KotOR but still fun with a great story and immersiveness for you.

Rest is pretty much a wash im afraid.

Like yourself im no joystick warrior that thinks remembering buttin combos = skill so understand exactly what your talking about.

Unfortunately in todays twitch gaming world, well made games that rely on story over twitch fps combat are rare and hard to come by.

Mass effects (for xbox 360) also seems to have promise in what your asking for, but even that game has a few areas that worry me after reading up on it and following the forums.

Honestly what I have found is Bioware and Obsidian (only because of KotOR2) are about the ONLY developers interested in story driven rather then twitch action games. So watch those two and hope alot :ermm:

    LOL, its what I do!

  2. Okies, so I recently started to play SWG again (until something better comes out like Vanguard or Warhammer) and the SWG forums are filled with people wanting Hoth added to the game.

I noticed in favorite planet poll two people also choose Hoth.

I just dont get it or understand how anyone could like Hoth or want it in a game.

Its nothing but Snow with ONE Rebel base on whole planet, whats so appealing or interesting about that?

Not trying to be rude, I seriously dont understand what the big draw is to the planet and hoping someone can explain it to me please!

Far as SWG planets go, Hoth is one of my least favorites just because there is nothing to it, at least Korriban and Onderon and Dant and others have ruins and adventure to them.

  3. So anyone still following this?

I am and its building quite the interesting little storyline!

I loved that this past comic (#:geek: they focused more on the villians then the hero so its not a one sided story!

All in all, really glad I been getting this!

Legacy on the other hand is almost on my cancel list if it doesnt pick up story line wise soon.

  4. for me its as follows

    1) Romance Mira as well

    2) Destroy Goto

    3) explore the back stories of all the characters even more

    4) Found and destroyed the HKs (should never have been cut from game)

    5) Traveled to more areas and explored more areas

    Reasons for these are:

    1) Mira was hot and there was a definately underlining passion happening there. The convict it would have caused with Handmaiden and Visas alone would have made it interesting.

    2) Destroy Goto, nuff said!

    3) Backstories of Handmaiden, Visas, Mira, and Atton were so much better then K1s backstories but the game just left you wanting more. What you got was great but it just wasnt enough to satisfy. Not to mention the whole "where did you come from" story that was cut for T3.

    4) it was obvious they were suppose to be part of the story and there was just enough stuff left in game for you to want to finish the content officially.

    5) I love the exploration of the KotOR games, but in both games the game size was just to small, I would have liked it doubled or tripled to be honest. I love the setting, its so much more interesting then SW: ANH era and beyond.

  5. My worst moment in KotOR2 came when I replayed the game as a female and found out I had to take Disciple in my party!

I literally quit playing and came to boards to try and find out if I could avoid having him in my party (I couldnt).

And he pretty much ruined the game for me after that!

Thankfully I had already played male exile light and dark before trying the optional female story!

The ending for Part 2 was also a disappointment but gotta say, the Disciple was the bigger let down!

  6. heh, also picked up issue 1 of the newest SW comic Legacy!

Not sure if this will be a keeper though, the story arc thus far sounds to much like the original SW story line!

Well that and I have a real hatred of anything Skywalker so thats also a negative!

Figure ill get the next two issues before I make up my mind for sure on topic!

As for getting the old issues of KoOR comic, I asked my store and they said they could still back order any issue.

So why not just goto local comic store and have them back order part 1?

That makes the most sence to me IMO!

  7. Just got part 6 and its getting good

I love how they have seperated Zayne from the jedi but positioned him to be a renagade neutral type character! Neither good nor bad and looking for revenge!

Just wish the comins had more pages to them LOL!

Has there been any GOOD KOTOR novels released btw?

    My only standards are

    1) They take place in the OLD REPUBLIC time era (as its so much more interesting then any otehr SW time period)

    2) If they must use Revan or Exile both are written as male (as the games protrayed them as)

Let me know please as so much crap out there for SW universe its impopssible to wade through it all to get to the good stuff!

  8. I think its a mistake but as long as K3 treats the Exile like it did Revan (you say if they male or female) I could care less!

I dont but any cannon swg other then kotor comic book.

So guess if I actually followed Cannon I might get upset as its obviously a move to satisfy the female followers then anything to do with actual story line!

LOL, but I dont so doesnt matter!

Now if they suddenly say Zayne (from the comic) is female, THAT WOULD PISS ME OFF!

Would make about as much sence as saying the Exile is female but would bother me so much more!

  9. LOL, well my post wasnt meant to start a discussion of if Zayne is Revan (as hes not), just a funny observation!

But as others hinting they think Zayne is.

Cant be, Revan and Malak recruited jedi to join the war against the mandalorians, they were not recruited. This much is clear. Thus this setting to late for Zayne to be Revan.

Doubt Zayne is the exile as well, but its possible

I guess, just dont see darkhorse doing that.

As for Wiki, its crap! That much is clear to!

  10. I got it and liked it actually :ermm:

Loved how Glyph got out of the bounty and meeting 2 new group members!

Gotta say group is forming up quite nicely.

The get away didnt really remind me of Taris though . Totally different set of events and evrything!

    Cant wait for number 4!

PS: Im laughing my ass off when ever I hit Darkhorse.com and their forums. Idiots still think Zayne is Revan! Just gotta shake your head!

  11. Here are some more Oblivion pics.  Man, this game kicks graphical arse.

The ones at the metal gate amuses me.

Wow, those pics are unimpressive, I was expecting alot more graphics wise from Oblivion, not out of date DAoC graphics.

Makes me glad I never bought the game, old tired graphics and from what I read, uninspired game play!

  12. If theres gonna be a KotOR3, i'm pretty sure since its going to be on the 360 and PS3 that theres gonna be more than 1 story with 2 endings.

LOL, why do people continue to think it will come out on PS3????

Its a xbox only title like Jade Empire and Mass Effects (well XBOX and PC).

What makes people think Microsoft going to give up its exclusive licence? And why should LA care as KotOR series have been financial success for them to the point they dont need the PS release!

Sorry folks, time to get use to idea, KotOR is a XBOX/PC EXclusive title.

    **************************************************************

Gotta admit Im loving the comics thus far but man have comics gotten expensive since I last collected them (10-15 years ago). Silly things costing me $4.82 each canadian! And thats for only 32 pages so they have also gotten alot smaller in size each issue!

I hope this title takes off though as Im really enjoying it thus far.

I checked out some of the other Star Wars comic titles and they were pretty much garbage in my opinion!

Course I hate that pansy Luke Skywalker and everything to do with him.

Old Republic is just SO MUCH more interesting a time period then traditional Star Wars time era is!

PS: I made mistake of visiting Darke Horse forums after reading comics, its always scary to see that type of fanatical following. Those folks really need to step outside and breath some fresh air, Star Wars is enjoyable and eciting but its still FICTION! Star Wars is NOT real!

LOL, some folks really should learn that little tidbit!

  13. Lundqvist sure gets to play a lot. Have the Rangers' coaches forgotten that he is, in fact, a rookie? I wasn't aware that rookie goalies got this many games under their belt in their first year? I've always thought they'd try to work them slowly into the system by beginning in the minors, getting some backup games to a veteran goalie and then, when the time is right, let them develop and mature into a starter. I hope they're not breaking him.

There's always exceptions. Fleury in Pittsburgh is younger than Lundqvist.

LOL, think back 10 years to the Canucks! They had a awsome rookie goalie that they just played day after day, goal after goal, poor kid got so shell shocked that year he was never quite the same and burned out in a matter of a few years never to be seen again!

All depends on the team and coaches. Most coaches understand that overplaying a rookie goalie can do more harm then good but a few (for what ever reason) never seem to grasp the concept and throw the goalies to the wind. If Pittsburg doesnt get better defensively, I expect Fleury will end up being a burn out as well if Pitts coaches dont ease up on him some in near future!

  14. No, the only one you can kill is Kreia at the end of the game.

ok then how do you kill kreia at the end beating her down in the first part is easy but then she throws up 3 litesabers which is impossible to get past any clues?

    LOL, 3 lightsabres not impossible!

I just mellee them down myself honestly using heals when needed but you can also lay down mines prior to the fight with kreia, the lightsabres will take damage from the mines as they move over them.

Weird hearing someone say this fight imppossible, it was much easier then Star Forge fight with Malak was (which was also easy once you understood to destroy the pods holding the dead jedi).

BTW: Just for arguement sake, you didnt have to kill Zal (wookie) in K1 as Darth Revan. You could take the far more evil route and have Zal kill Mission for you (one of the truely good dark side moments of K1).

Having Zal doing it was far more evil then just approaching game as hack and slash and killing both Mission and Zal.

Yeah, the fight with Kreia is a cake-walk. If you're having trouble (I was a sentinel/jedi master), then run around a bit (there is some treasure in the alcoves that you might as well pick up if you're running) until the sabers begin losing track of you. Kreia will completely ignore you and not move.

Now heal up, then buff up and slowly approach one saber. When it notices you, stop moving and let it come to you alone. Then slash it to pieces (easy) and heal up again if necessary. Then buff up again. Repeat for the other two sabers.

Once they're gone, heal and buff up, then make a run at Kreia and slash her all you can. You should be able to take her out, especially since you can heal and she cannot. Use Force Immunity, though, since the old hag loves using force powers.

Using this hit-and-run tactic, taking down Kreia should be very easy.

Note on Zaalbar in K1: Yes, you can get Zaalbar to kill Mission (and yes, that is quite evil!), but if you do, when you go to the StarForge and have Zaalbar in the group, he will be angry for your deception and try to kill you, giving you no other choice than killing him as well. I actually didn't know this for a long time, because my evil Revan left Zaalbar on the ship, but I've tried it since, and it's quite true - Zaalbar will give you no choice, if you bring him along. You can walk back to the Ebon Hawk and get another crewmember to replace him after he's dead, though (I usually use Canderous or possible HK-47 next to Bastila on the StarForge when I'm DS).

    LOL really?

Gotta admit I never use Zal at anytime in my games (except when forced to of course) so never knew he forced a confrontation on the Star Forge! Just figured he was now evil and all that.

Thats a good twist Bioware did!

And Aye, I always used Canderous and Bastilla when I played DS. Or Canderous and Cat Woman as LS when it came to star forge.
