  1. I would like the HuD only to show your own backpacks location instead of everyone's that died.

You can't pick up theirs anyway - so this only adds to visual noise and makes it confusing to know which back pack is yours.

There are also people who choose not to pick up their backpacks leaving a permenntant collection of backpacks on your screen in multiplayer.

  2. You probably accidentally stepped into a parallel universe. Can easily happen when you go through doors wrong or exit from a walk in closet or dressing room. You can try to find the door back but will most likely just end up in another parallel universe further from your original one. I'd just chalk it up as an "oopsy" and continue on here. The differences won't be that noticeable.. just little things like you might run across a t.v. show that will be new here but might have run in the 90's in your universe. No big deal... just don't talk about it too much or the IPUPS (intergalactic parallel universe police squad) might come knocking. I guess it's too expensive to track down your correct universe so they just stick you in a neutral limbo universe.. which is really, really boring..

    Man speaks the truth.

I came here from Pizza Palace - the entire world was made of Pepperoni Pizza. Sure it was sticky but no one went hungry and everyone died of heart disease.

  3. I think they should have had fun with it.

If you bind him to the castle - you should get one of those Paper Dialog options going

"You wake up to a deep somber moan in the room, as your eyes dart across the shadows you see not a soul in sight. Yet the moan echos throughout your head. Sweat rolls down your forehead as you hide under the sheets. Peeking above the covers to make sure no ghost roams your room. Just as you are about to go back to sleep you hear a deep rumbling voice.

[ Name ] - I am the ghost or Eír Glanfath's Christmas past!."

sukoiden probably had one of the best strongholds in gaming history.

With more than 100 recruitable characters each with his or her own personality trait that will leave and join based on the decisions you make.

Wow super fail. How could I have forgotten about Suikoden (and Suikoden 2)! Thats the model for what a stronghold system can really be.

Its not really a common game played in the west. Though it beats a vast majority of RPG's released.

A shame really - because if you go to these classic game forums you will hear so many talking about cRPG's like baulders gate.  But there are so many great rpgs not made state side that really should be given a shot.

With that said - people ( especially obsidian dev's ) go play Sukoiden 2  and see how to make a great stronghold. The entire game you wander around the world recruiting people to your stronghold. Certain things can only filled by one person so you need to decide who you want to invite to do it [ Merchants \ Inn keeper \ Support Staff ] Each character requires prerequistes before they will join you in the keep. Anyway great RpG people should go check it out.

    6) Other RPGs with strongholds allowed the player to recruit NPCs from the world to live in their stronghold. Examples from the SNES era include JRPGs like Breath of Fire 2 and Secret of the Stars. This provides yet another incentive. Build the stronghold and then you can go out and get people to come live there, offering further benefits in terms of additional quests, merchants, prestige, security, etc..

  6. Small Part of Medaows causes clipping when an Aura is applied. Minor bug I know - but still a bug.

Attached save game at the location where it clips. It also clips a bit more up in a parallel to that line. But forgot to pause it and Screen cap it the first time.

  7. After getting 2nd Hotfix for 1.3

I opened the game was at Readerics Castle decided to go back to the Stronghold.

After a small period of loading the game crashed.

Might have been better to have Primary character name + Location.

Considering players with multiple characters would have a hard time figuring out which one is associated to which from random numbers.

Anywho crash log + savegame attached.

    Update 1:

    Worked after restarting steam

But I ended up getting an event which doesn't seem possible. A Cipher came asking for a job. I don't have a barracks or Main hall even constructed yet.

You can't really change a few lines and expect an update of equal size in a compiled game.

The game binary file is just 20MB though, so that's no excuse for a 600MB patch.

The reason why patches are so ridiculously big on Steam, is that Steam does not support true incremental patches. I have no idea why they don't implement it - it's not rocket science, in fact the technology has existed for a long time and is used all over the Internet. Steam could probably save a sizeable amount of their server costs if they used it, not to mention increase customer satisfaction through shorter download times.

According to another post around here by the devs, Steam downloads things in 1meg blocks and thus the patches blow up to be way bigger than they need to be when they upload them to steam.

    That's all it is.

As far as I know that isn't how it works.

Generally speaking the version on steam is always the latest version in a single package file. The single package file is downloaded onto the computer and unpacked.

When an update occurs steam uses its Delta Patch Algorithm to compare the difference between the Steam Server version and the version on your computer.  It then downloads the updates based on the entire package difference. That probably is where the main issue lies.

  10. This isn't your average rpg where dodging hits are rare.

In PoE - dodging ( deflections ) are a lot more common than anywhere else.

With that said when your character does get hit - you want them to be able to survive it.

So the amount you put on your constitution is heavily based on how far the character is away from combat.

The further away they are from the frontline - the less it needs.

  11. This is nice and all, but fkin 600MB for that? auyehuaeauehuaeuh

I was planning to play after university, now ill have to wait until after lunch.

If you are dealing with raw source you have a better chance of it though.

On a different note, the fog was so thick it was blocking doors? Crazy stuff.

*sigh* it really doesn't matter who started the movement - it really is about the movement it self.

The person who started it might have been a pure hypocrite, but it still holds meaning regardless.

The whole issue is a grey area.

Everyone has the right to their own opinion and should be free to say it, but as a commercial product obsidian does needs to cover its bases. After all, the media is a dangerous beast who can easily be swayed one way or the other. The media can make or break a company and its best to be on its side. During development of PoE ,Obsidian nearly went bankrupt now isn't a time for them to do risky behavior. If you love Obsidian you will accept their decision so they can continue to make games you enjoy. Sometimes you should know when to fight and when not too. After all it is not your jobs and livelihood on the line when you say "They should have Stood up to the SJW's".

If you want to take a stand against them - do it directly to them ( SJW ), but don't blame Obsidian for it. After all, they are simply trying to survive in these dangerous times where many studios are shuttering its doors.

So you are ok that people start to influence Obsidian when they decide to view some part of content as offensive to them even if they have misunderstood the said content?

Obsidian was able to create Pillars of Eternity through the help of 77000 backers, do you really think that vast majority of them find that limerick be so damaging they wouldn't buy the next Obsidian game? Then again if Obsidian starts to cater to SJW's and cut and remove content from the game everytime someone makes a fuss about something that will definately affect peoples willingness to buy it's products.

Only party in this case that had the ability to stand for it's content and editorial decicions was Obsidian, but they decided to remove content from the game because someone was offended by it. People will allways take offence on what you do, but if you seek to please everyone by losing your integrity you will end up pleasing nobody.

In the end we who have bought the game end up losing content, Obsidian has lost it's spine and Firedorn was forced to remove his art.

I rather not be petty and make a fuss on a subject which doesn't alter the game one bit.
