  1. It's going to be a separate patch because they could not fit it into the 1.0b patch. Supposively, this next patch will be coming out in "a few days", but we all know how that will turn out.

We're done with that btw... just has to go through the bureaucracy/QA and all that fun stuff...

Cheers mate. Thanks for the clarification - thanks to all that replied too . Looking forward to this new patch.

  2. Sorry to post another question about patches but I did a search and only found threads where you had people condeming OE about how long they take to make a patch or people defending them. I remember one of the developers mentioning there was going to be a follow-up patch to 1.0b that came out recently that would fix the quality of the sound files for KOTOR 2. I was just wondering if this patch has been INCORPORATED into the 1.0b patch already or if it's going to be part of another patch (e.g. 1.0c) - just wondering since I don't intend to play KOTOR 2 until this patch is released...

    Thank you kindly,

    Mark G

  3. I voted for "Other". I highly doubt we would actually return to Malachor V in the next game either way, but I also doubt that it wouldn't even be mentioned. If it does get mentioned, I imagine they would handle it in the same sort of way they handled the Star Forge's existence in this game: It would just depend on whichever alignment the player "set" the Exile to through dialogue options at the beginning of the game. Malachor V's survival or destruction would probably just be mentioned offhandedly at times, as was the case with the Star Forge, or something anyway.

True, I guess they would determine what happened to Malachor V based on alignment (and perhaps some accompanying questions if neccessary).

  4. to global_74:

still there's no reason to be condencending! just makes you look like a total jackass! and then no-one will listen to what you have to say ..

So if you want a discussion, great! start treating people with respect or you won't get any .. but if your here to simply post a monolouge and piss people off, then go somewhere else!!

    Here! Here!

global, it's not completely Obsidian's fault. They have deadlines to meet and jobs to keep, so they can keep food in their tummies, not to mention their families. True, maybe they could've planned ahead better and perhaps focused on a better ending, but even then they would've still been under the thumb from Lucasarts every step of the way. They had to make sure that KOTOR 2 fitted Lucasarts's vision of what it's meant to be like since if they didn't, the project could've been canned altogether, and then what would've happened to the future of the KOTOR series? We would've had to wait longer for a sequel or perhaps not even *see* a sequel ever again.

Look no flames or character attacks okay? Just stick to the facts if you want a proper argument please...

And by the way, I agree with most of what was written in that article, but as another poster mentioned, you could clearly see that the article was pointing the blame at Lucasarts's marketing department rather than Obsidian's development team. OE did the best they could with the resources provided. So please don't try to change the story .

  5. Well you know what Obi-Wan said about the remains of the Jawas in ANH:

LUKE: These are the same Jawas that sold us Artoo and Threepio.

BEN: And these blast points, too accurate for Sandpeople. Only

    Imperial stormtroopers are so precise.

And we ALL know how good Imperial stormtroopers are when it comes to shot :D.

So maybe they have a different idea of what constitutes good aim in the Star Wars Universe :luck:.

  6. The new series seems aimed at merchandising if you ask me... just take a look at how many Star Wars games Lucasarts publish nowadays compared to what they started off with back when they were making Monkey Island :luck:.

That's not to mention all the toys they release...

True the OT had its fair share of merchandising later too, but I mean come on, the Pod racing scene in Phantom Menace? IMHO it didn't really add much to the plot - they could've done things in a different way, although it did pave the way for the POD Racer games on console, PC and the arcades :D.

Anyway, some food for thought I guess...

  7. The "just be happy Han still has the gun and not a walkie-talkie" option seems to be missing...  ;)"

Eventually GL will change the scene using CGI to where Greedo shoots and misses an unarmed Han, then Han kicks Greedo, Greedo drops the blaster, Han catches it in mid-air, then fires and kills Greedo all within a 3 second span.

LOL. Reminds me of the Waco Kid in Blazing Saddles - he's so fast you can't even see him do it! :D

  8. IMHO, the Jedi are good AND bad. There are pros and cons being on either side of the Force Alignment Fence. Generally, the Jedi ARE good but in these games they seem a bit too manipulative for my tastes - they obviously don't believe in honesty and sentient rights...

For me, if given a choice, I would've stuck as my soldier class back in KOTOR 1 and beefed him up :D. I'm not really a big fan of the Jedi or the Dark Jedi. Jolee Bindo had the right idea .
