  4. My scathing Shadows of New York review: As the game continues the story of Coteries of New York, it is hard to review it without comparing it to that game. Coteries gave players the choice of three interchangeable characters with little to no personality. The choice in Shadows to focus on one character and flesh her out, allowing players to actually care about her, was a step in the right direction then. Coteries only had one ending, which made sense, considering the utter lack of power a fledgling vampire had, but it left players disatisfied seeing none of their choices matter in the least, tiniest bit. Shadows has two endings, not counting the way early on to die and not play the game. Again, a step in the right direction. Yet somehow, the improvements hold the game back. Where Coteries had choices that changed events during the game but ultimately didn't affect the ending, Shadows has very few choices, which add to a hidden counter for which ending is achieved, but do not alter anything during the journey there. Where Coteries had a number of side stories you could advance over the course of the game, and to make each of the three playthroughs give you new events to explore and new choices to make, Shadows has nothing to explore. Each night you choose to read two out of three possible encounters, but none of them have any meaning, any progression. They are one off events that simply allow the writer to showcase some character they came up with. Coteries had a bland protagonist but a very interesting supporting cast. Characters with personality that explored the unlife of vampires and different ways different clans deal with it. The cast of characters in Shadows is the same. Yet those same characters that were so interesting in the first game have lost all personality in the second, being just soulless vessels to give plot information. If even that. As a result, the second "playthrough" comes down to clicking the next button for ten minutes, to skip to the choices, choose the opposite approach in morality, read the one line that differs, then read the changed ending. Should that ending be the "good" ending, it will be grand standing posturing - a fitting end to the self absorbed navel gazing that precedes it. Had this been a novelette, without any illusion of choice or two endings, I would have mostly enjoyed reading through it. Though I would still have rolled my eyes at the ending. It is well written and tries to explore the main character's inner struggle. The different format would not have made the other characters any less flat and lifeless, but it would have felt less like the writer's cry: This is my amazing writing! I did not buy the game for the amazing writing, but for the tale it tells. A story needs both. And Shadows of New York focused so hard on getting the words right, it forgot to have these words mean anything.

  8. It was the third one. Also the utter failure, as I suck at marketing. The original two were published the traditional way with a publisher, in physical form. They didn't do great, but they ended up in book stores and I made three digits in royalties, when other unknown authors pay money to even get printed. This one, in English, on the other hand relied solely on me, and I am incapable of self promoting. The release also triggered a long bout of depression, so I gave up on it. Next attempt will be a graphic novel. After that I will revisit this story to either do as a point and click adventure or a graphic novel. I don't have the money to found an animation studio and turn my stories into netflix series... Edit: With me "how long" is hard to tell. My design process always infuriated my professors at university since it is completely introverted. I can sit on a sofa for months without any progress, then write 40K words in two weeks because: "OK, I worked it out."

  13. @Elric Galad is pretty much right. In contrast to some other classes, priests gain quite a bit from being single-classed; when multi-classed you miss out on some incredible top-end spells; not just the symbol, but also hand of weal and woe, dismissal, call of rymrgand, magran's might, etc. what's less obvious, is that you're actually missing out on 3 power levels, because you don't get access to Prestige, which is a "you should definitely take this" single-class passive that grants +1 PL at tier 9. you also are able to get all the empowered passives. might not sound like much for a first time game/lower difficulties, but by potd/end game is stupidly good. A fully jacked up empowered priest symbol will clear even most DLC fights on its own (on top of possibly triggering empowered-related effects on certain late-game gear). the big question though is whether you care about being more priest or priest-ish. If you want to be more priest, no amount of multi-classing will get you the priest qualities of getting tier 8/9 abilities. if you only want to be priest-like, then it won't matter that you can empower hand of weal and woe to make your party invulnerable compared to the extra role/ability diversity multi-classing gets you. that might be a question only you can answer for yourself, unfortunately. just know that both MC/SC priests are great options (whereas some classes might be better off being MC-ed due to a lack of really compelling tier 8 or 9 options).

  14. i would not consider furyshaper/ancient to be that bad. you don't have to use the sporelings and wild growth, and in fights where they would be a really important carry (which can happen early on), you don't have to use wards. it's a wee bit of anti-synergy early on, but later on, +10% ward and +25% action speed from frenzy is a whole lot of casting speed. great for emptying your spellbook real fast. when you run low on spells, replace teh +10% ward with the fear ward for good times. why is everyone so keen on berserker/fury? the confusion seems like a deal breaker for much of the game, and raw damage later quite a liability [esp as fury you lack as much sustain]. Of all casters, fury needs +PEN the least.

  16. Furyshaper/Ancient is a bit meh because of the summoning limit as Eric said Berserker/Ancient has some minor quirks, too: as an Ancient you will most likely cast a lot of raw damage spells like Plague of Insects, Insect Swarm, Infestation of Maggots, Venom bloom and so on. First of all those are often all foe-only and using Berserker Frenzy will turn them into friendly fire. Plague of Insects has a very big AoE. You def. don't want cast confused Plague of Insects on your party. Also confusion from Berserker Frenzy will shorten the duration of those spells. In case of DoTs losing duration hurts because it's like a multiplicative dmg loss (less ticks from the DoT). You can get rid of confusion though - so those problems can be circumvented. Use special food, drugs or items to become resistant or get Smart (from party member?) to cancel the confusion. The biggest reason to go Berserker/caster is the Tenacious inspiration which gives +2 PEN - which otherwise is extremely useful for damage dealing with spells - but in case of raw damage spells... it doesn't do anything. Of course you can just use other spells - but then you're not using the Ancient's increased Power Level with beast/plant spells. But once going into melee the +2PEN is great again. So one could make the argument that you only should go Frenzy after casting spells - which would be a valid point. Of course the healing capabilities of the Ancient are good to counter the Berserker's self damage, too. So overall it's a minor inconvenience imo - once you circumvent confusion. Ancient's DoTs are cool with Barbarian passives, not only Spirit or Blood Frenzy but most notably Blood Thirst. You can cast some DoTs at the start of the fight and then go into melee. While the DoTs work and eventually kill some enemies you'll get 0 recovery attacks every now and then which speeds up your melee attacks considerably. If you use the Community Patch then my recommended Spiritshift form would be Stag. Because the CP turns the really bad 1/encounter lol-carnage ability of the stag form into a weaker "proper" Carnage passive like the Barb has - weaker but it stacks with the original - which is cool. Double Carnage for the Stag. Is it important to you to play an Ancient druid? If yes I would go with Berserker, vanilla Barb or Corpse Eater (because it fits so well thematically imo). If you would also consider other Druid subclasses: as Waldemilson said Berserker/Fury is cool - it is not so much about Spiritshift but high PEN and casting speed with elemental spells. Berserker/Shifter is also pretty nice. This one's mostly about Spiritshift though. Use the healing in between shifting to counter Berserker's self damage.

  18. Yeah, healing received would have been a possibility too. However : 1) Healing Received should probably have been integrated as part of attributes bonus. This would have been the best solution. As an independent bonus as I'm forced to do, I think it's better to do something else. Also "Tough" hints more toward damages reduction than greater recover. But that's subjective. 2) Unbending is indeed an issue. I've worked quite a bit to tweak it in a previous version. Now it gives back a fair amount of health back, but can only be beyond 100%* with the right upgrade, the right food and probably BPM's version of Nature Godlike. Healing received bonuses are rare enough so it works. Now if I have to deal with another bonus that can be between 0% and 75% (assuming +3% healing received for each point beyond 10), good luck balancing the ability for everyone ! 3) CON afflictions were the biggest reason. They cause healing received penalty. Felt like it would have been a weird double penalty if I added healing received to tough. * Note that current BPM Unbending isn't affected by INT and PL for % of health returned, only for base duration. See mod note for details. It helped balancing it.

I'm not talking "kind of crazy" or "a bit neurotic", I'm talking "this person is legitimately mentally disturbed and should not be in or around the general populace", . I think part of the reason she's more likeable to me than she should be is that up until THAT episode, all the episodes she had a major part in were absolute silly nonsense, so even though she's being terrible in them, it came across as more fun and ridiculous than it perhaps should have. Your Name: I actually had like 4 specific complaints about it that I came up within the first five minutes that annoyed me and nearly made me turn it off...buuut one, they're things I've already complained about in other movies, and two, a couple of them weren't really problems beyond those first five minutes. It's...fine. Other people that aren't as particular as me would probably love it. Really, it's fine. There were some ideas and implementations of those ideas that I rather liked even given how ridiculous they were. It's fine.

  24. I wouldn't say switching weapons to match enemies' AR isn't recommended. In fact I would def. recommend it. Bleeding Cuts is great against certain enemies but against the common mob it's counterproductive because the damage needed to kill a rel. weak enemy is applied faster without the modal AND you'll get more focus from the overall dmg you applied (because the dmg of Bleeding Cuts doesn't generate focus). Against slash resistent enemies I'd argue it's nearly always better to switch to a dmg type you can fully penetrate with instead of insisting to use Battle Axes' underpenetrating slash dmg + Bleeding Cuts. Because the raw dmg Bleeding Cuts does is based on the slash dmg you did and that can be pathetic when severely underpenetrating. What I said there is with the assumption that you don't use recovery-skipping effects and prolong them indefinitely with certain item effects (see Strad of Favor trick). Instead of switching dmg types (e.g. from quarterstaff to pike or whatever) you can also try to stack PEN and/or use weapons with two dmg types. This avoids switching in many cases. But dual dmg weapons usually have lower base PEN so it's not a no-brainer. Some weapon types who normally only have single dmg and decent base PEN have uniques who have dual dmg types. I found that the Morning Star is one of the weapon types which have a great mix of PEN and dual dmg. Also the modal can be very helpful for certain spells (e.g. Disintegrate, Killing Bolt and whatever targets fortitude). Willbreaker + Make them Flinch + Gauntlets of Greater Reliability is one of my current go-to setups because it lets you apply the modal to anybody eventually (miss-to-graze conversion), it has good PEN, crush/pierce dmg AND also lowers Will on hit which is kind of cool for a Wizard/Cipher. But I wouldn't advocate for making this your one and only weapon choice - at least not for a solo run... Soul Annihilation is great - but if you miss all your focus will be gone for nothing. So if you want to make SA you main source of melee dmg you should make sure you don't miss. There's one-handed weapons with high accuracy (e.g. Rapier + modal, esp. Rännig's Wrath or Kapana Taga with some enemies engaged or whatever). If you use them with nothing in the offhand it's a lot harder to screw up Soul Annihilation. At least in the early game where I find misses are very common and are very frustrating. Another way can be to use the modal of the small shield. You can switch it on for a shirt while to get the +15 ACC for your next attack (also works if you evade a melee attack by stepping to the side if not engaged) and then use that +15 ACC for Soul Annihilation. You can of course combine stuff like an accurate weapon with the small shield modal. This is only for the early game imo - or if you meet foes which are really hard to hit. Later on you have several sources of ACC buffs so often you can just use whatever (I mean if we talk about not missing Soul Annihilation). One exception is Sun & Moon - this is so good with Soul Annihilation that it's a viable weapon for the whole game imo. You get two chances to not miss SA - and if the first flail head hits, then the second one will generate focus already which is great, too. Citzal's Spirit Lance is pretty cool with Soul Annihilation because the AoE of the Lance applies different portions of raw damage to all enemies. The initial target gets the normal raw dmg of SA and then there's some internal workings at play that give different amounts of raw dmg to the enemies in the AoE. I suspect that those hits generate focus which will get dumped into raw dmg immediately (but you can't see that). Draining Touch is very good on a Wiz/Ciph because not only has it very high base dmg and does corrode dmg - it also targets Will instead of deflection. A Wizard/Cipher has so many tools to lower Will in enemies. For example you can use Kapana Taga in the offhand + modal and Draining Touch in the main hand. Modal lowers enemies' Will by 25. Miasma lowers enemies Will by another -40 (!) and then drop Secret Horrors and Ringleader... what isn't charmed will get annihilated by your (and your Phantom's) Draining Touch (+SA if you want). And even the charmed/dominated ones you can kill quickly. An insanely good weapon against all forms of vessels is Grave Calling. It can create a foe-only Chillfog that counts as weapon attack. That means the Chillfog will generate focus for you (fuel for Soul Annihilation all the time). It also has an enchantment that applies paralyze+ to an enemy if the sabre has done some hits. This also works with the Chillfog! So the Chillfog will generate focus for you AND freeze enemies in place as well. And the best part is that if a vessel is killed by the Chillfog it counts as weapon kill so that will proc another Chillfog. It can snowball into a cascade of death for all vessels on the screen (which are not immune to freeze dmg). Never forget your Phantom which carries the same items as you. Citzal's Spirit Lance * 2 is cool. With the example above (Kapana Taga + Draining Touch) you can also let your Phantom engage enemies (Kapana Taga can give +2 engagement, if you wear Reckless Brigandine it can get another engagement etc.). You can send it in to "tank" some enemies and then drop some terrify effect on them once the Phantom has engaged 2 or 3. They will disengage eventually and get hit by the Phantom's truck-like disengagement attacks. Not bad for a summon I think. You can also give it very protective gear and really use it for taking aggro for you for a long time - or even give it "suicide" gear so you can send it to enemies while you are invisible/stealthed/away - and when it dies it will explode with several AoE bursts (for items see Great Swords Effort, Mantle of the Seven Bolts or Cape of the Falling Star, Effigy's Husky...). This can be very helpful to thin out groups of enemies before you feel confident enough to face them head-on. It can also be useful to let that happen while you two are in the thick of it all since those AoEs are foe-only. There's the Shroud of Phantasm (cape) that summons 6 copies of you which have very low health. If you are in a pinch you can have 6 death explosions that might kill enemies around you and save you). Those copies also can cast all your spells (unlike Essential Phantom). Also - even as a Soulblade - never forget Mind Control. Stuff like Ring Leader is impacting the outcome of an encounter so much. It's like summoning a bunch of creatures who fight for you while taking out the same number of enemies. I can't emphasize enough how powerful that is. Combine with Phantom and you'll have a small temporary army fighting for you. Also here stuff like Miasma and club+modal can help a lot. Especially when using Brilliant Departure first and cast Mind Control on a bunch of enemies in calm. Then finish of the non-controlled with melee + SA or whatever. Tl;dr Wiz/Cipher is an incredibly versatile class combo. I personally would prefer Psion or Beguiler for solo (using Arkemyr's Brilliant Departure to stay hidden and cast CC like there's no tomorrow while my Phantom does the DMG) but that would be a totally different playstyle than what you are looking for I guess.

  25. Third Xbox One Controller? I think I'm on my sixth or seventh from since when the Xbox One released, and I don't even play very many games, much less intense ones that often...but I do admittedly use them regularly for non-gaming purposes. At one point, I saw a good sale and I got a handful for $20 each, but I literally only have one unopened one left, and I'm about to cycle back to one that only has one minor problem, which is that the right analogue doesn't work (and actually, it came out of the box that way). Every single one, either a trigger or an analogue stick goes nuts - my current one (that I've been about ready to chuck out of a window for a few weeks now) the left analogue stick can't go left without it going up-left and it can't go right without it going right-down. But you're not wrong re: Microsoft/Nintendo. I don't know how anybody uses a Playstation-type controller as their main controller, the form of those things are intolerable. In regards to wireless stuff, if I was playing something like Hollow Knight or Dark Souls, I definitely would not want wireless input...but most of the time, I'm playing more slow-paced stuff, so it doesn't really matter.

  26. Absolutely and we have had success stories in township schools by a proven, working model. The sustainability and effectiveness of our township schools works when you have a good, working relationship between parents and teachers and basically the school board needs parents to support them and of course the resources, allocated yearly from government in a budget, mustn't be squandered but in this case that is not the main issue So your typical township school would love the idea of a point and click book as I mentioned

I'm starting to think that I'm the crazy one. Your Name (2016). It was fine. Plot was kind of pants and needed a lot of of really arbitrary ridiculous stuff for anything to really work, and dialogue could be a little...wacky in modern anime dialogue fashion, but it was mostly cute. 29. I dont know much about the global appetite for books but I know what I enjoy and what people like me, we do have spending power and buy books regularly, would enjoy. A graphic novel is always a good idea but the market is dominated by many players but a point and click adventure sounds like an excellent idea Would you intended audience for this point and click idea be children under 14 or so ? I think their is market for that group that is relatively untouched but to honest I dont know much about children's point and click ? It can be educational as well and positioned truly as a " clever way to get children to read more " Its something, once you develop the most effective implementation model, that can be used throughout Africa and particularly SA. It would be positioned as a tool " to encourage children to read more " and something that would gain good support because we have about 10-15 % of children who get to grade 12 and are still unemployable And the reasons for this are almost the same, these unfortunate kids went to certain township and public sector schools that failed to deliver a decent education to these kids but the kids are pushed through the grades without having to pass so the pass rate looks good....its a small number of kids but its real And the lack of reading skills is due to a lack of effective reading resources at some of the public sector schools. So you can see how the entire idea of kids wanting to read is always an important objective in SA and we invest in products and ideas, like point and click products, that we believe will improve the standard of our education

Is there some secret, unholy alliance between Microsoft and Nintendo where they both decided to make sure that they'll have the only comfortably shaped controllers on the planet? True to form, Microsoft also made theirs so they break after half a year. I'm through my third XBox One controller by now, it's ridiculous. As bad as the JoyCons on the Switch are (for precision, actually, I find them quite nice to use, but it's impossible to play games that require precise inputs with them), the Pro controller is a real beast, it takes any punishment my nephew dishes out and keeps trucking on, and has ridiculous batterly life to boot. Which barely matters to me because when I use it it's hooked up to the dock and to use the cable for inputs (if you ever get a Switch, there's an option for that in the system menu, it really pays off in terms of input lag). Screw wireless input devices.

  35. OK, BLM is not an organization no. Or at least it is not well organized. But it DOES have leaders, founders, supporters, and of course spineless supplicants and ass lickers. No shortage of those. Personally I was pretty neutral on it last year because they DID have a legit gripe. I was a little put off when a black cop was murdered during one of those non-violent protests where people were killed and stuff burned down. Not a word about HIS life. I guess his life didn't matter. I was amused by the whole Patrice Cullors business. They certainly freaked out and turned on one of their own "founders" when they found out she had a nice house near white people. Can't be a good communist that way can she? Don't really care but did find it amusing. But this business... they are flat out praising evil. They can hide behind the polite fiction that they are not an "organization" but someone is running their Instagram account and not one so called supporter has uttered a word to refute any of it. And by they way my "limited" story that I linked had their statement in it's entirety. That is specifically WHY I links THAT story. The USA Today, ABC News, and CNN versions omitted the part where they stood by the Cuban government and printed in full their blaming the whole thing on the US. Go figure. And no, Cuba does NOT have an "objectively good" health system. I'm curious how many Cubans you personally know. Oh if you are connected to the government or live in Havana you will likely be OK. Otherwise if you need something more than stitches or an antibiotic you are in trouble. My first wife's parents were Cuban. They fled to the US in the 1960's. Her uncle was executed by the Castro Regime along with thousands of other for voting in the 1958 election after Castro and the rebels demanded that all Cubans boycott. Praising the Cuban Government is almost no better than praising Hitler and the Nazis or Stalin and the Bolsheviks.

  36. Eh, much as I loathe Scummo I'd be extremely skeptical about any EU measures not being stealth protectionism designed to get around WTO rules. It's very easy for both sides to be right/ wrong (depending how you look at it) at the same time. Random example: I always have a good laugh about Euros who think buying local meat is more carbon efficient than imported meat from New Zealand, when in reality the imported meat has a considerably smaller carbon footprint- specifically because we have basically zero supplementary feeding here, whereas a lot of the EU has animals in barns eating 20kg/ month/ stock unit of extremely environmentally friendly and completely not grown on old rainforest areas imported Brazilian corn, and strangely enough those carbon miles add up a lot quicker than a single trip by 5kg of lamb. You can absolutely guarantee though that if they do carbon pricing it will be on the end trip the meat makes, not the ones all the feed is coming in on, and they won't tackle how hopelessly inefficient- and carbon obnoxious- the CAP makes their agriculture.

  38. Now I'm planning to add 1.5% damages resistance to "Tough" ability for each point of Constitution beyond 10. Note the the purpose isn't to buff Tough but to buff Constitution. Constitution is often considered as the worst stats (at least to be maxed. Resolve can be great when maxed). At 30 CON you'll have twice base HP and 30% damages resistance. More or less equivalent to triple hp pool, plus more benefits from healing. Note that adding an effect directly to Constitution itself doesn't seem to be technically feasible.

  41. pps am gonna observe, once again, how blm is a movement and not an organization, but am also thinking such a fact is kinda chicken sh!te. when somebody affiliated with blm does something bad, blm folks is quick to point out that they ain't an organization. is no leader to condemn bad behaviour. is no organization to take responsibility when individual blm protesters go too far and indulge in violence. nevertheless, is clear some blm folks wanna trademark and make press releases. serious? can't legit have both ways. can't avoid responsibility while claiming a right to speak for the movement as a whole. if blm wants to become an organization, then they is gonna need some kinda leadership and at such a point they is gonna be embracing responsibility for those acting on behalf o' the organization. will also be making your leadership targetable by unsympathetic government agencies. particular after trump am not certain most people involved in blm wanna go that route. nevertheless, until the time blm wants to genuine organize, press releases and statements from one o' the dozens o' groups claiming to be a voice for blm is doing little save giving consumers o' alt-right media a target for their misdirected venom. counterproductive. HA! Good Fun!

  43. What again !!! Gfted1 I cannot belive how you have disappointed twice in 24 hours.....the first time was where you didnt confirm you can create some sort of DIY " spirit trapping " box....now this But its not your fault because Gorthfuscious started this ...this... RPG heresy when he openly admitted " I havent finished F:NV "., remember he did say that. But then he gave a valid reason which normally is very hard to do with this type of behavior. I went back to reread his reason just to be sure and its rock solid....he was moving between countries and I know he really has moved internationally more than most and it can very disruptive and hard to stick to your normal routine when you move. So he gets a pass But what are your reasons for not finishing this game and not getting very far and please go into as much detail as possible ?

  44. Late for the party - but here goes! I absolutely ADORED the PoE series. The first game is actually my favorite of all time - and that comes from someone who has been playing computer games since I was old enough to hold the computer mouse. *Literally.* Thing is - I played both PoE and Deadfire for the first time *less than 6 months ago.* I do not have any real nostalgia associated with the products (although, I certainly feel nostalgic listening to PoE music tracks on YouTube), as I was late for the CRPG party overall and been playing everything from BG2-3 (EA), DA:O, DOS2, Tyranny, Pathfinder: Kingmaker and, of course, PoE since fall 2020. And, like I said, PoE was by *far* my favorite (not just among CRPGs, but OVERALL) - and that is although I sincerely enjoyed each and every one of these titles. My heart broke a little when I wrapped up the series to move on to Pathfinder: Kingmaker (I had the post-series depression for days). It might be because I come from an ARPG-heavy background - with a lot of games like Diablo, Grim Dawn, some Path of Exile and Wolcen - but eveything about PoE(1) rubbed me the right way. The main plot felt personal, with a moderate sense of urgency instead of "yeah uhm, doomsday is near - but imma solve your pity squabbles anyways" (like stated in the comments above). I enjoyed the combat (despite having a poor history with RtwP since DA:O that really had me struggling), I absolutely adored the available voice acting and I would any day prefer that kind of quality over full VO, I loved *each and every single one* of the companions of PoE(1), the music was so beyond next level that I have an entire playlist dedicated to Justin Bell, and I did every single companion quest line during my very first playthrough. Cannot say I did the same for Deadfire. Deadfire was a good game in many aspects - especially regarding combat (and multi-classing <3), the small "book"-events that even included individual characteristics of the companions (loved these sooo much!), well written romances (although disappointing endings to them, imo), continued amazing companion interactions (their monologues that pop up during quests and events) - and of course, yet more amazing music! ... But I also experienced a lot of issues with Deadfire that never occurred to me in the first game. Like the very long intervals of dialogue silence during side quests (as companion dialogues only would pop up after progressing the main story) - which lead to the remarkable time of *13 hours real time dialogue silence while I wrapped up some side-content*. Then once I proceeded with the main story - ALL of my companions wanted to chatter at the same time (right in front of our enemies!!). That left me very annoyed and "un-immersed", and quite honestly? I struggled picking up the immersion in general after that (this must've been around 30ish hours in). The ending also left a rather sour taste in my mouth - and without giving any spoilers I just felt like I didn't get the option to explain my reasoning to Eothas properly and that the game read my motivation all wrong. I mean - I felt like my choice of action (and reasoning) was anything but unique and mind blowing (judging by previous commentary), yet the writers did not seem to account for it at all - although they included passages that were much more complicated / elaborate (which is a good thing! I just wish they would have any reasonable response for people in my seat). Either way - the way Eothas interpreted my actions, and (more importantly) the lack of proper explanation-options from my side had me salty for WEEKS! Anyways, back on the main subject - I also watched the "Breaking the mold"-presentation and read many of the interviews with Sawyer - and they break my heart. It saddens me to see Sawyer's apparent disappointment in a, imo, not just great but FANTASTIC game series. I remain hopeful for a PoE3 - and I'd be willing to wait more than 10 years if that is necessary. HOWEVER, I only want PoE3 if the developers come back to it with the same love and effort that radiated throughout Pillars of Eternity (1). Otherwise, I'd prefer them to leave the two games as they are and have the developers move on to something else that they can properly fill with genuine love and attention - no matter how saddened I'd be. I get that the investments require success because... Well, companies need money to not bankrupt. Especially since they nowdays are with Microsoft that really want to maximize their profits. But I really, really, really wish that the developers could see PoE2 not for what it became (which is not a bad game by any standard, even if it did not reach their expectations), but rather - the absolutely AMAZING game that it could develop into if they just gave it some time, love and thought. :[ I also very much hope that Obsidian realize that a huge blame for the poor start was due to limited marketing! I would have bought the game in a heartbeat, had I known about it at the time... But alas - I did not, and I arrived many years later as a result. Deadfire might not have been perfect - but nothing will ever be when you choose to experiment with new techniques and get rushed the way they did. It was overall a great game - and more importantly, it pawed a good path for a PoE3 with the data that you acquired from the successes and failures of Dreadfire. Sorry for the long post - I just feel very passionate about the entire series as they, imo, make the best CRPGs in the market (from someone with no nostalgic bias :] ).
