  4. Hi everyone ! First of all, sorry for my bad english, french here =) At first I wanted to make a romance mod for Vatnir but with suggestions from people on Tumblr (and because I realized that I love modding), I decided to push the project further by extending the Beast of Winter DLC. So far, I've managed to get by, to understand logically how dialogs, nodes, variables work, how to add stuff to what already exists, how to put it all properly in an override folder. I even managed to create a passive effect to add to the player after a certain event (I thank all the people in this forum who took the time to explain how to do all these things, it clearly helped me!). I still have a lot of work to do but I'm stuck on one thing: adding a brand new dialogue. Even if I followed the few infos I could find on this subject, I didn't succeed (and I admit I don't want to spend days testing. It was fun at the beginning but now I just want to move forward on this project). Here's what I'm trying to do: I'd like to create a hub dialog for Vatnir like the other companions that is in a separate file (so a new dialog). The problem is that no matter what I do, when I talk to him in the game, the harbinger_leader dialog starts (the file where his main conversations are in the vanilla game). How do I make the game understand that I'd like it to start another one? I hope this is understandable ^^'

OTOH the AZOxford and Sputnik vaccines contain DNA- that's why Soros/ Gates chose adenovirus, it's a DNA virus- and will make you vote Democrat.

When we play, they never try to inflict pain, they keep their claws retracted and grip lightly with their teeth. It impressed me that they instinctually knew the difference between fighting and playing.

  15. So, for no particular reason I decided to build my first character without putting a single point in any weapon skills; the goal was to beat the game without personally ending a life. Also no destroying any robots, no squishing any bugs, nothing that would trigger 'Enemy Killed'. That went for companions too. Sending robots back to their charging pods or putting enemies to sleep was allowable, however. The end result? A pretty big success, in fact. The main quest did not require me to actually kill anyone, and I was able to complete the vast majority of sidequests. There are points where killing might seem inevitable, such as the radio tower; but they are ultimately avoidable. Since I saw some other people interested in a 'pacifist run', I thought some might be interested what exactly you can and can't do, as well as what they'd need to pull it off. First, some tips: What you need to know In Fallout: New Vegas you had relatively little control over the companion AI; if you had them with you, they would shoot. It's important to realise that this isn't the case in The Outer Worlds: companions can be set into 'Passive' mode, which will prevent them from attacking under any circumstances unless specifically ordered to. This is good; companions provide massive buffs to your skills, so for a no-kill run they can be very important failsafes. To put it in perspective, by bringing SAM and Max along I was able to boost my Intimidate by 43 points, while still providing large boosts to Hack and Science. They're useful. Inspiration and Determination, though, are largely irrelevant beyond the level 60 Inspiration perk; double the skill boost from companions, which is very enticing, but maybe not worth the investment. I am unsure whether it applies to the Companion Perks that boost your skills further while a companion is in the party. It's also important to have a good understanding of the stealth system. Since you can't access terminals while in combat, it's generally going to be important to stay in stealth -- even ignoring that if seen people'll shoot at you. You can, however, still pick up items and leave/enter areas in combat, so the running wildly approach is sometimes an option. So: crouching in tall grass makes you virtually invisible, and inside you'll want to make good use of cover and enemy patrols to make your way through areas. You'd be surprised by the amount of back and alternate entrances; if going in through the front seems impossible, it's not a bad idea to scout around. Hacking/Lockpicking will open up routes and potentially save you from having to scour areas/bodies for keys. What quests I couldn't do What you think you might not be able to do, but can What I didn't do, but you probably can What I did, but you might disagree with Other notes The marauders at the start of the game, near your ship? They don't need to be dealt with, not even by talking the guards into fighting them; you can just stealth past them. ADA's fake-venting stunt will scare them away, as the two Spacer's Choice people will tell you. If you put out a fake tracking signal for Phineas, I wouldn't count it against the run but he'll kill a few people having prepared his defenses, which Sophia will wave in your face. I don't actually know if you lock yourself off anything by sending a real signal; and of course, if siding with Phineas you probably don't have to send anything at all. To my knowledge, Nyoka's companion quest cannot be completed; fortunately, everyone else's can be finished. Every quest I was able to complete by location, to my best recollection

  16. Konstanten seems like a fun guy to have around, I just decided to go for the main companions for my first playthrough. Also, thank you for such quick responses! I wasn't sure with a game like this if anyone would still be around on the forums. I'm looking into Barbarian now, Barbarian Paladin seems like a fun combo to role play around. Since Fassina has some options which you've very clearly laid out, i'll dump the wizard idea and try and work on a paladin tank! Explosives and Poisons especially seem like they're in a weird spot, considering they share recovery time with everything else you can do. Thanks for confirming that they aren't secretly gamebreaking!

  18. I think all user reviews at this point are garbage, especially on Steam and metacritic, I actually appreciate the critic reviews at this point. User people reviews fall into 4 categories in my opinion: 1) the game sucks because it has bugs 2) the game sucks because it isn't like my favorite game of all time 3) the game won't get a good review from me because I like to write long reaching reviews just to read my long review that do little but re-affrim my belief that my words matter 4) the game is good I find critic review much more spot on these days if taken as an aggregate. Edit side-note: I found it interesting that people on this forum generally approved of CyberPunk 2077 for the PC, much the same way as the first reviews for the PC version were pretty positive, not that this proves my point it just is a good example of reviews being diverse for a lot of different reasons, but in general I fell professional critic reviews still give a better picture of the game.

  19. My problem for a while now has been multiplayer/online focus. Even if a game can be played single, the online focus design still intrudes way too much in one way or another, far as I'm concerned. I like big open world-ish games for exploration/discovery and inventory management aspects (and I remember how few such games there were, once) but yeah, the way many do them now has become too generic or hodge-podge for the moment. Trying to hit all the demographics or whatever.

  20. Pathing still has issues. Try to go around any character that crosses your way and bumps into you: you two might end up walking side by side like a couple holding hands until eternity. But the shoving motions alone made it so much better than before. Also that the attack roll actually checks if you are still in range is way better. In PoE you could hit anybody who WAS in melee range at the time you initiated attack but then moved away. It was weird. I would have the Long Stride + Boots of Speed and run half a screen away from a Lurker only to get hit by a its slap it started to execute what felt like an hour ago.

  28. So a few days ago I've watched some of them animal / nature documentaries (Our Planet) on Netflix, and I have to say .... ... man, I ducking hate american-style documentaries. If I am watching a documentary, I don't want to just hastily consume. I want to take in fancy landscapes and learn new interesting facts and stuff like that, but american-style documentaries are always super fast, they cut all the time and jump around in different places and make up weird animal stories that (let's be honest) we all know are just made up based on available footage. It's like whatever they are showing can never be longer than 15 seconds and then they assume the watcher became bored of it. One episode was about desert / steppe and holy crap, they jumped the planet from left to right and it took most of my concentration to keep track of where exactly we currently are on earth. Felt like there was no red line, it just went from here to there and back again. The visuals are epic and super fancy, but the dramatic cuts and fast pacing just completely kill it for me. /rant over.

  31. My pleasure @dgray62! I've been lurking around this forum without contributing for a looong time, glad to finally get to be a bit more active. I think your suggestion definitely has a point for style and offers some interesting and strong synergy for the roughest fights. I think it's a fun way to try out the build and, well, build on it if you're so inclined . You won't need it to win against all the content that the game/DLCs can throw at you, but it would certainly enable you to beat certain megabosses (Dorudugan...) in a more honorable way than I did . About Acute Rash vs. Severe Burn, my analysis is the following: 1) Reflex penalty is less hurtful than Fortitude with this build, agreed 2) However I think getting a Burn vs. Corrode armor reduction is worse overall - unless using Rekvu's Scorched Cloak all the time for synergy with Burn damage conversion to healing. But it's only helpful sometimes, Giftbearer Cloth is helpful in every fight . 3) Most Importantly, it's pretty hard in my experience to hit yourself with a non-Reflex, self-targeting (because of high saves) Fire spell to cause the injury. Necrotic Lance is very convenient as you can do it without much prep (just remove your armor and +FORT gear) and just chain-cast it against your low-ish FORT. If for some reason your FORT outpaces your ACC in the beginning, just go to Old City Overlook to a pile of corpses to get Sickened and debuff your FORT . Or temporarily hire Xoti as a Monk to beat the living s*** out of you with Weakening Blows and such while Aloth chain casts Necrotic Lance on your toon. Weird but effective. 4) The least harmful injury is Wrenched Knee but in my experience, is impossible to get on your own / without traps. About switching Robes, since this build isn't supposed to get hit much and maximizes damage output, I considered the High Harbinger Robes... but it is such an insult to style! Net, there is a lot of room for tweaking the build to anyone's preferences, but in truth its overall effectiveness won't change much IMO. Cheers.

  32. What @Zoraptor said. Ciri was even brought up by one of the main guys working on the franchise on social media trying to gauge people's reactions. His big selling point was that with Ciri's special ability, you can have the game jump from world to world thereby making the game open universe. Don't know about the rest of you, but I would hate that. Hope someone smacked some sense into that guy.

  36. The car ambushes in game are scripted sequences, and there's like, 3 of them in total. This is slightly different from the talk about them happening in response to actions you carry out in the open world, and not being quite as "on rails" as the ones that do exist are.

  37. I didn’t make an error. They are what they are. I attended 3 over the years. MDCC, FAU, and Tennessee State. I didn’t really see much difference between them. I just kind of laugh at the notion that they are some kind of higher purpose institutions or some temple of knowledge or some such. Serve the community? Hardly. They are a business much like any other. Not deserving of special treatment nor consideration. I also scoff at the notion that any one of them is better than any other. The prestige of ivy league exist only in peoples heads. I once told a guy who graduated from Penn I bet he paid too much for his car too. They teach you the exact same math at community colleges as they do at MIT. Only they do it for a fraction of the cost. by the way, vision statements, slogans, creeds are just words. They don’t obligate anybody to anything. Not impressed

  38. @BruceVCThere is nothing wrong with open world per se, the problem is oversaturation. This issue isn't exclusive to video games either. Once super hero movies became popular then very quickly the market became oversaturated with super hero movies. When a particular style of music becomes popular very quickly the market gets flooded with other artists that sound extremely similar. Any media that becomes a big time business invariably becomes directed less and less by artists and more and more by committees and focus groups. When there's a lot of money at stake, companies will follow trends rather than artistic vision. I like to play open world games from time to time, particularly of the Eurojank type, but I also like a more linear game too. There are advantages to linear games, especially when it comes to the pacing of the story. I like variety in my gaming, but at the AAA level gaming has become increasingly homogenized. Thankfully, there are indies.

  41. To quote Keyrock: “I'm honestly getting pretty burned out on open world in general. Maybe it's not so much open world but instead how every AAA game has to check every single check box: Open world, RPG, action adventure, looter, survival, narrative, exploration with crafting, building, collecting, and multi-player.” And that is a reason, why I spent 10x money on Indie games than on AAA games (If you consider Dishonored and Tales of franchise as AAA) in the last 5-7 years. Worth every single cent...
