  1. People do tend to settle near good sources of heat to help them survive winter.

  2. What you have missed: Drudanae is now called HoonDing and mostly only posts screenshots. Usually without comments, though the screenshots often include text. A number of people have kids now. I don't really post Mordheim screenshots anymore. You can now win the internet here on the forum: it counts the likes and other reactions you get throughout the day and whoever gets the most for that day wins. Or Raithe wins. Usually Raithe wins. Keyrock still plays games nobody else even knew existed. A number of people play Conan Exiles and the screenshot thread will every now and then be filled with impressive feats of digital desert architecture. And scantily clad characters taking it all in because a) it is hot there and b) they spend all their money to pay for construction materials and the cost of steel and concrete went up again because the oil price went up and that left them without money for a coat.

  3. I had an idea like that and even put in in the feedback thread, but then you'd just have trolls carrying the day all the time. I'm uncertain if that's a good idea. Probably a good thing I got ignored hard, and, quite frankly, if I can manage to have a "win" or two, everyone can. I'm usually dead last in these popularity contests. If that sound bitter then that is....

  4. I played FO4 all night. It's not a great RPG. It's not even a great FO game. But it IS enjoyable. Put aside it;s flaws and legacy and just "live" in the world and take in the atmoshpere and it's pretty good. Of course my game is heavily modded and was the day Nora stumbled out of Vault 111 so maybe vanilla does suck.

  5. Everyone, good sir. Everyone. And I'll be laughing at you when it comes out and it will be the only game you'll ever need. No, really, but... I mean, realistically, it's probably either NOT going to live up to its promise or never really come out beyond what is already there, but let's assume for the moment it would. Star Citizen could very much be the game I dreamt of having ever since the first time I played X-Wing and Wing Commander. On the other hand I'd just as soon settle for Squadron 42.

  8. Sometimes, when I go in the crafting menu, I can't use the "esc" key to exit but I have to press the "digital" button in the game to do that.

  9. So just like the title says i play this game in 3rd person but everytime i die and respawn the camera changes back to first person. It's a minor nitpick but it can be annoying if you die often and i don't think it is intendet that the camera view changes like that eveytime you die. I also don't know if its because the 3,0 or if it was a problem before the update but now it is there.

  10. Glad to know, if I was in the market for a 30xx, that I wouldn't be the only foolish idiot wanting a 3090. Not that I'd wait in line for one. I prefer waiting six months (or whatever). To me buying gpu's (or any expensive tech item) is like buying games, now. You wait for the patches/upgrades first. hahaha...

  11. To be honest either way it's going to be fun. You either will see people who literally spent hundres of millions on a promise see it all be for nothing or you'll see half the internet naysayers eating their own words. I have a hard time deciding what would be more fun, and I say that as someone who backed Star Citizen and who really likes Chris Roberts' work. Except that damnable movie of course. Ugh.

  12. Chris Roberts' cultists. I sort of hope it bombs just to see the reaction to it.

  14. My excuse is that I was here before the like system was implemented and therefore was robbed of my rightful internet points from 2004. However, this admittedly pales before metadigital's 1 like in 21635 posts, for a likeability rating of 0.0046% per post.

  16. I mainly post funny/cute pictures of other animals, since y'all got cats and dogs covered. While not as popular as cats and dogs, rats, raccoons, wombats, etc. keep me in the top 8, so I can't complain. My videos and pictures for weird and obscure games don't do me any favors in the rankings, but I do have an image to maintain.

  17. Well, on average he gets 5,5 likes per post. In comparison others in the top 8 are at 0,77 likes per post (#2 Boeroer), 0,98 likes per post (#3 Sensuki), 1,66 likes per post (#4 rjhsae), 13,76 likes per post (#5 Guard Dog), 1,01 likes per post (#6 Keyrock), 0,82 likes per post (#7 Hurlshot), and 1,99 likes per post (#8 Shady Sands) At 2,02 likes per post you need to spam a lot to catch up. I am a hopelessly unappreciated genius at 0,67.

  18. Skyrim. You can mod out that long cart ride, execution intro sequence. If there ever was a quality of life mod for any game, it is alternate starts for Skyrim. Also Silent Bradford for FiraXCOM games.

  21. 1, 2) It doesn't matter how many ballots citizen gets, as checking is done when election office receives the ballot. Ballots are sealed in secure envelopes, which contains voters identification information and signature which are compared to voter registry. Ballot inside of the envelope is counted only if information and signature in the envelope matches information and signature in registry. If information matches then election office will mark that person as voted and no other votes from that person will be counted, meaning other mail-ballots or in person vote. So forging somebody's vote you need official mail-in secure envelope, ballot used in the state where person lives and person information from voter registry (same information is used to open bank accounts, getting loans, buying houses etc. things, meaning that it is sensitive and secure information which can used by criminals much more effectively in some other places than forging single vote in election). 3) You need that voter registry information about the person, so people that live in same apartment building would have quite hard time to get that information. This question is more relevant when it comes to spouses, parents and children voting for their 'loved' one, which is reason why mail-in voting is not used in Finland. 4) Ballots are mailed and they need to be in election office in certain day in order to be 'properly filled' , in some states and some cases ballots that come after election day are also counted mainly to ensure that votes from members of military that are deployed over seas will be counted. But making sure that all the ballots are collected and dropped to election office is responsibility of USPS and therefore sitting president. 5) Ballots are in sealed envelopes and envelopes aren't valid if seal has been broken 6) Voter registry is used to prevent multiple votes from same person. Same way as it is used to prevent people voting in multiple location in person. 7) Same way as you decide that people not voting in person was persons decision and not fault of poorly organized voting locations and not working voting machines and long queues

  22. "I cast off my spacepod shell and step bravely out into the unknown to build a factory empire!" "What is that tall creature in the distance??" "What is THAT?" ...I then proceeded to walk around, scanning for ore. Was mining said ore by stabbing some rock with an icepick when I was back-butted by a couple mean armadillo-like thingies. I broke my hand-spanner trying to defend myself and promptly died. Respawn and reload both put me in a random different spot with nothing, not even the required block apparently needed to build the starter HUB. When I tried to go back to menu to start over, game crashed. Early Access... But it looked utterly gorgeous on the 4k TV/Ultra! Edit: Game title, "Satisfactory", on Steam

  23. IIRC that accusation against MCA got debunked. That mainly left being creepy when drunk, which isn't great but also isn't exactly uncommon. Doesn't really matter if the comparison is to Polanski though, even the worst accusation wasn't in the same city let alone the same ballpark as what Polanski did. That sort of ludicrous comparison is exactly what gives social justice its bad name and exactly why genuine complaints get ignored. I'd never heard that MCA created Oblivion, learn something new every day.

  26. I'm happy to be educated in that process, but I'd say the scale issue would still be a factor. I have no knowledge of the pre-existin mail-in system, who could use it or what were the conditions to use it and results of it. I just saw, that the large scale mail-in presidential election had to be cancelled and moved in Poland by a few months, due to privacy concerns, reliabilty of the process and accuracy of the process. Instead additional health safety measures and longer voting period were established

  28. Quick update. With version 0.3.0.2426, we can successfully join the other's save without crashing. We do still need to perform the work around noted above in order to see the game listed though. Glad we can play together again. Thanks for the daily fixes!

  32. HBM for a main sequence consumer card would be, though to be fair it isn't that expensive. But HBM gets rid of one major potential problem Biggest Navi has with GDDR6- memory bus constraints- while reducing wattage. 1TB bandwidth might be overkill for the RadeonVII, but may well be justified with raytracing added. The alternatives are a 512 bit GDDR6 bus (too hot, too large) 'crippled' 970/ console like VRAM configs andor adding a lot of S/EDRAM cache, which is also very expensive. If they can get a decent top end performance boost from HBM and competitive top end raytracing I think they'd go for it.

  34. with ladybugs, i've seen one get stuck on the mint container, it charged an aphid and glitched on a piece of grass then walked off the grass onto the container. I'm thinking that's how they get in other weird spots. Ants could be from lunging at weevils maybe.

  35. there's a number of games that i play that do it. this one and all of the 2k sports games. The few times i've forgot on Grounded and the quick launch worked, i had messed up sound, so i've just made it a habit to save and fully close the game like with the others.

  38. I think it usually does the complete opposite - making companions feel less like people and more like less convincing Joy. If let’s say complete strangers are kidnapped together and are consumed by parasites dating is probably not in their mind. It is also hilarious how everyone PC recruits is available. PoE1 are some of the more believable, relatable and “immersive” companions I have experience precisely because they feel like they have their own life - our paths just intersect.
