Ideally none of those, because they are very binary, and therefore such path is picked once, and mentaining it is dull, with clear cut choices (see all Bioware games). My fav. RPG roleplaywise are once when choosing a path isn't as simple - you create base goals and ideals by which your character lives, and try to go through the game and examine decisions by those ideals - sometimes you will do good, sometime you will do bad. I am yet to see a straight up "bad" path done well. Being cruel, for cruelty sake never made much sense, especially if being good is just as beneficial. Not many games a brave enough to "punish" player for being nice. Pyschopath was never appealing to me, as combat generally isn't the most appealing thing about RPGs - therefore willingly engaging with combat, and locking myself out of the good part of the game isn't my idea of fun. So I hope that marketing is just easy to consume representation of something more nuanced and interesting.

I know you don't get it, that is why it is remarkable. On a similar pregnancy note, my wife went out on maternity leave with our second child with about 5 weeks to go in the school year. Since there isn't really a maternity leave in education, it is just sick days and then disability (in which the disabled teacher is paid minus the sub pay.) she decided to go back for the last week of school. When she returned, the principal had told her department, the district, and the office staff that she was not coming back. Her email had been shut down and stuff was boxed up. It was super weird. Thankfully she had tenure in the district, and was able to reverse everything, and filed a grievance against the principal. Long story short, he isn't in the state anymore and she continued teaching there for many years.

I'm a chronic restarter so I need to find the character that feels right to me in order to get anywhere in a game. I usually replay the opening sections numerous times so that can get old after a while. I'll probably play some sort of free spirited trickster or rogue as that's the type I like the most in games.

Must be preparing for a career in politics.

I had been fighting The Messenger, Ironclads and the wooden druids and their spells always went off (as you said, these are not proper spells). To check that it worked against kith I went and attacked Arkemyr and it does interrupt his spells. I have mainly been using fists/mace to get my stacks up which is reasonably easy to do on most mobs. Understanding that the spell disruption only affects kith is good to know but also quite annoying (in Baldur's gate 2 it was all mobs). As this class is quite gimped already and now to restrict it to the kith isn't great. Awwwwww. The appeal to this class has really dipped. Thanks for the reply @Boeroer. Your insight and testing of this is most appreciated.

Obligatory On-Topic: Personally I think timed exclusives are silly because I have no issue with waiting out the timing (this is excluding any look at whether supporting a game at all can be seen as support for a 'bad' practice or support for a 'good' game).

Try using a guide with a premade build that definitely works. I have had the exact opposite experience, and started a second play through on hard (in which im streamrolling) the second I finished my first.

That's a bummer for me then. One thing I dislike is that every company and their moms want to have a digital distribution platform. Epic Store, Origin, Ubicrap, Steam, Discord Store, GOG Galaxy etc. Personally, I refuse to have so much needless crap installed on my PC. I only have Steam and GOG. This isn't going to change anytime soon for aforementioned reason.
