  5. Hey Mr. Nightmare, The developers are still looking into fixes for it. Do you experience the same stuttering if you jump straight into a map? You can do this by typing "iroll20s" in the console and then hitting F-11. From the list of maps, you can go to Fort Deadlight or Neketaka and see how the performance is without loading a save game. Getting a video from you would also be very helpful if you have the ability to capture and upload footage. Thank you!

  6. Just install the mod. Download a "General Reward Talents" and copy "GiftFromTheMachine" folder into your "override" folder. If you don't used mods before, then create it: ....Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\override https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/310 No need to mess up with Unity Console - it may introduce stutter.

  7. Test this mod: https://uploadfiles.io/u6f3307y Mod changes three things: 1. Backstab damage bonus always applies correctly from invincibility (Shadowing Beyond and so on) with all weapons 2. Damage bonus applies to all 4 projectiles with Blunderbuss attacks, instead only first 1 in vanilla. 3. Damage bonus applies to all targets in range with AoE weapons attacks (Whispers of EP, Amra etc.) Damage bonus still the same as vanilla: +100% It works fine for me. I want to include this fix in Basic version of Community Patch. Backstab with bonus Raw Damage will be moved to Extras version (overrides a Basic fix if you're using Extas, but you can remove it manually).

  8. Hi everyone, We are still looking into the Nvidia issue, but we haven't been able to reproduce it on our end with a wide variety of hardware. Today, I ran through some tests on a 1070 and I was getting around 40-50fps in the Neketaka Docks. It's not an ideal framerate, but it's fairly stable while moving the party and camera around. Occasionally the frame rate drops or stutters briefly, but it doesn't seem as frequent or severe as what is reported. Our profiling investigation shows that the game is heavily CPU bound. Most of the frame time is taken up by the ability, AI, and status effect systems. This means that the CPU is the bottleneck and not the GPU. As a second test, our IT department swapped a 2080 into my rig (nice! ), and I ran through the docks and got similar framerate and performance. This lines up because we are CPU bound. As a side note, lowering the resolution is also a good test to see if the game is GPU or CPU bound. If a lower resolution gives more frames then the GPU is the bottleneck. The 2080 confirms we are CPU bound on the upper end of hardware, and unfortunately, even with the 2080 I'm still unable to reproduce the massive stutter/locks that some are experiencing. A few things moving forward: I would like to continue to look at CPU performance and see if we can get any gains by optimizing some of the above systems (abilities). I have a few ideas in mind that may work, but optimizations to key systems are risky because they can introduce bugs. We will see what we can do, and I'll keep everyone updated on if we made progress in this area. The big problem is that we just have too much stuff. In the city, we can have hundreds of active abilities and status effects, each unique with custom scripting. Many of these need to be updated each frame. It's a problem, and one that can be solved. As an ask to the community: can anyone please record a video on the NVidia stuttering or find one that's already been made? It will be immensely helpful to take a look at it. Thank you! Also, can anyone supply a new save game with this issue happening? Does this issue happen if you jump straight into a low performance area? (iroll20s on the main menu console. F-11 to jump to a map). There's also a reported performance problem that could be save game or achievement related. I would also be interested in getting save games from people experiencing that issue to see if we can see what's causing the freeze. We are aware of the Special K mod and fix. (You can view the thread here on Steam). A few programmers here looked into this last year when it was first reported, and we were unable to do anything on our end because it would require us to modify the Unity source code (which we aren't doing for Deadfire). Another unfortunate circumstance is we are running on a old version of Unity (5.6) and upgrading the engine to get the potential fix would be a significant undertaking. We are well aware this is still a problem, I'm discussing solutions with everyone to see if we can find a resolution. Hopefully we can tackle some of these issues and make the game as best as it can be.

  9. I recently tried a whole, fried shrimp. Have you ever seen a soft shell crab that's battered and fried and eaten whole? Same thing. This was a complete shrimp that was lightly battered and fried (head, body, tail, exoskeleton, organs). I wasn't too jazzed about eating it but I didn't want to be a lil biatch in front of my hosts either, so down the hatch it went. Meh, tastes like a crunchier shrimp.

  11. @Phenomenum: I did the rest of the icons. But again forgot Sister of the Reaping Moon. Anyway, you got PM. Will deliver Sister otRM later this evening. Will keep it simple. I also agree that we should first publish the stuff that is covered by the poll. After that we can still make another poll with the things that came up afterwards and implement that as well. @MaxQuest: I personally don't need a nerf of WotW and also need no change to recovery from invisibility. Rhakan Field Boots is weird but it doesn't affect a whole lot of people and it doesn't occur if you are not explicitly trying to do it. Same with Shroud otPhantasm. Both just provide a bit of cheese but you usually don't do that accidentially but use metas knowledge. Thus the chance that this annoys players is very low. So for me that's low priority as well.

  14. No drawback is not correct. Afaik the self damage scales with PL, does it not? With Helwalker at 10 wounds you can kill yourself pretty quickly with some Full Attacks with dual scepters. Voidward would help I guess. The nice thing about Monk surely is that you get wounds by simply attacking somebody. And Rogue is nice because you get high dmg bonuses. Assassin or whatever doesn't matter much. Also Monk is nice because of Enduring Dance which doesn't break from self damage. So lots of ACC (and wounds). Keeping in mind that scepters have ****ty range, Turning Wheel only works for melee attacks and scepters have no AoE anyway I would go for a Nalpasca/Trickster and don't use Turning Wheel. Use Iron Wheel to get a lot of additional health so the self damage doesn't bother you much, get more "free" AR so you don't need to watch out that much if you get attacked or not. Trickster gives you lots of additional deflection which takes you from the menu of a lot of attackers who like to focus on low deflection targets. The Sneak Attack Malus is only 10% which is a joke. Do Riposte while running around with deflection buffs and bonuses against disengagement attacks Lighting Strike combines with Rogue dmg bonuses is awesome. Rogue's Full Attacks are awesome. Monk+Trickster can combine Long Stride, Fast Runner and Graceful Retreat PLUS Tumbling in order to zip around freely, make enemies miss their disengagment attacks (you will have a tremendous deflkection bonus against that) and suffer Riposte eventually.

  15. I'd say that Assassin is a good choice in the linked build less because you're building around the bonus and more because the drawback doesn't hurt you much. You're really in Rogue for Sneak Attack, Deathblows, and cheap Full Attack abilities. Without making any special efforts, Assassin will benefit you often enough to be better than a base-class Rogue. And, if you aren't interested in taking on micromanagement and risk associated with the Streetfighter playstyle that Jayd describes above, that's probably more than the other Rogue subclasses offer. (That said, a Trickster giving up a little SA damage for debuffing utility is a nice tradeoff. Being ranged, you won't get much out of the PL 2-4 abilities, but the rest can be fun.) IMO, Helwalker is too natural a fit. Makes good use of the feedback damage, the MIG bonus helps a lot, and the disadvantage is substantially mitigated by a ranged build. I'd consider that a lock for half a mulitclass. If you don't want the other half to be a Rogue, you're probably giving up some overall damage, but what you get in return can make up for it. Ranger gets you Driving Flight, a pet, and a suite of ACC-enhancers. A Ghost Heart make a neat thematic pairing with a Helwalker, too. (Although note that the Ghostheart pet isn't compatible with Dichotomous Soul, due to the summons cap.) Devoted adds even more PEN, easy access to Intuitive, and a damage boost on Crit. Not sure how useful extra PEN is at that point-- between Desctructive Channeling, Thunderous Blows, Scepters being dual-damage, and the Ring of the Marksman, I suspect you'll be pretty solidly in the PEN-but-not-OverPEN category for Hits and at or near Overpen on Crits, even without the Devoted boost. (Aside: does the Scepter modal stack with Tenacious?) There is a cheap full attack (Penetrating Strike), but it's not as good as the Rogue options. Paladin lacks great DAM ACC or PEN boosts, but but it does have an excellent spammable Full Attack, and contributes lots more party-support utility than the other options.

  16. I mean, Rogue is the champion of weapon damage because of Sneak Attack + Deathblows among other stuff. Not picking Assassin doesn't mean to forget about Rogue. If you're willing to do potentially finnicky micro it might be worth going for a Streetfighter who plans to stay Bloodied via the sceptre self-damage. That'll certainly give you more DPS than anything else but you'll have to manage your health. If you multi with Devoted maybe you can get enough sturdiness to intentionally get your character flanked at times as well? Or stick with Monk and use Mortification of the Soul to get your health down and keep it down. You can also use Iron Wheel for a bigger health pool and extra AR, which can allow you to be pretty comfortable at low health. Stunning Surge works with ranged attacks too, right? I'd say a Streetfighter/Helwalker would definitely be the highest damage output you can get. If you're afraid of getting squished too easily another monk subclass would still leave you ahead of most competing builds, or you could try SC Streetfighter.

  20. a) Nope b) Yes, but it's not working for Powder Burns. I don't know why - maybe, because PB ability not directly linked to specific weapon attack... Don't know. And no, weapon restriction is still here, no bonus for spells. Basically, it's still vanilla Backstab, with a few bugfixes, but without Raw Damage.

  22. Ha-ha. The thing is all weapon's AoE attacks, technically, don't treated as weapon attacks - there is everywhere "TreatAsWeapon: false" flag. Backstab bonus damage applied only to weapon attacks. That's the trick. So... AoE backstabbing wouldn't work without modding that part.

  23. Every once in a while there's a perfect match of character and actor, and Paul Darrow and Kerr Avon were one such match. Disproportionately influential in scifi, and still extremely quotable. I'll have to go back to my original avatar in memoriam, if I can find it.

  29. You can use the console to give you all plate armors that are listes in the wiki. Save your game. Then open the Deadfire console and type iroll20s <enter> //console will close <reopen console> giveitem Plate_Armor_U_<hit tab> //every tab hit will give you another armor name. //enter in order to put ni into the stash That way you can cycle through all unique plate armors and check their looks ingame. Reload your savegame afterwards to get rid of the "cheat modus".

  30. I'm in a similar predicament with Pathfinder: Kingmaker, where I want to plan my fashion game ahead of starting and there are no damn screenshots of the equipment anywhere XD Thing is, going in and taking screenshots just for the sake of showing the equipment is actually pretty tedious, so the easiest way to see them is to just use cheats (or the Unity Console) to give yourself the armors in-game and don them.

  34. With a google search like "plate armor deadfire" you will land on the fitting wiki page which shows all plate armors with pictures unless you mean screenshots from the actual ingame 3d models well that's more difficult I don't think that there is a collection of screenshots for those and if there is i don't know about it but maybe others can help and now i really have to take a deep breath

  35. Tonight Im making myself a form of bolognaise mince, its simple really. But its also very economical as I will have pasta for dinner but the left over mince I can either freeze and use it later or use it for sandwiches or other meals over the next 2-3 days. One has to be prudent with meals when you single... " waste not and want not " and all that Fry onions with garlic for 3-5 minutes until translucent Add mushrooms Add Mince and brown mince and make sure is par-cooked Add pasta sauce and reduce heat so mince can slowly, say 40 minutes Add mince to pasta once cooked

  39. Probably not. I'm not great in front of a camera. You can tell in the Pillars 1 documentary and an interview I did at GenCon. Josh is a Paladin/Monk, always looking for perfect balance. I can't believe it's been close to a year. I had some tragedy in my life and decided to start a new chapter. I took an amazing opportunity at FoxNext Games and even though I miss working at Obsidian, I love what I'm doing now. Kaz, the Wizard, died in my playthrough at the top level of the digsite. He got replaced by Brennecke, a wizard/druid. I feel like that fits a Programmer. Fun fact, I named the Shiba Inu pet Kaz in Deadfire because Kaz always used the doge meme in temp art/icone
