1.05 Patch Beta Live on Steam

BAdler

Question

Hey, everyone. You can find the latest patch notes here. The beta is now officially live on Steam.

IMPORTANT: One thing to note is that there is a change to the saved game system. This means that once you load the new beta up, your saves will be converted to use this new system. This will prevent them from being loaded up in an older version of the build. Before the saved game conversation takes place we make copies of your older saves and place them in a folder named "1.05 Save Games Backup" in your saved game directory. If you need to access your older saves, this is where they are located.

Fighting Spirit and Armed to the Teeth are their racial abilities.

I know that, thank you. The point was that they're shown in the wrong section. They're displayed together with Cipher Powers and Chanters chants. They should be separated from Powers/Chants. Here's the image: http://postimg.org/image/qbra5ebnt/

What's with the bug where difficulty gets decreased silently by the game ? You guys said it was fixed in 1.05 before the beta, but it isn't present in the patch notes.

Since this is the one thing that makes me wait instead of play, I'd be happy to know :)

From what I've seen, this issue should be resolved in patch 1.05. I'll try to get it added to the patch notes. And please let us know if you manage to reproduce the issue in the latest version. Thank you!

  • There's a new option to reset newly recruited companions to level 1 (without losing the experience). This will allow you to level up companions to your liking.

Awesome. Thanks!

Yes, but how does it work exactly?

You need to disable "Auto Level Companions" in the difficulty settings.

Then when you will meet a companion for the first time he/she will be level 1, but with enough xp to level up immediately.

I've come to burn your kingdom down

In difficulty settings I only see "Choose companions starting level" that is enabled, yet Aloth as first companion joining me is lvl 2° and can't find a way to maunally reset/level up him.

The translation seems a bit off.

You need to disable that voice before recruiting a companion.

Was the inventory bug fixed as promised in http://forums.obsidi...ing-them/page-2 ? This one is preventing me from playing (and not only me judging from the comments), because it is impossible to retrofix.

This issue should indeed be fixed. Please let us know if it occurs again."

So from the list I compiled if common bugs, the following remain:

1. Sound cutting from companion dialogue.

http://forums.obsidi...-over-gets-cut/

http://forums.obsidi...n-voice-acting/

2. Reckless Assault bug. (Still)

3. Defenses and afflictions don't stack properly bug.

http://forums.obsidi...stack-properly/

http://forums.obsidi...tribute-scores/

4. Status Effect Bug (Especially Blinded)

http://forums.obsidi...nently-blinded/

http://forums.obsidi...ter/?hl=blinded

http://forums.obsidi...oss/?hl=blinded

5. Monk Transcendent Suffering Bug.

http://forums.obsidi...-damage-broken/

6. Battle forged bug

https://forums.obsid...even-after-103/

6. Duel wield and unarmed bug

Apparently something was fixed with Reckless Assault in patch 1.03:

  • Restored modal flag for Reckless Assault.

https://forums.obsidian.net/blog/7/entry-179-patch-notes-103/

But apparently people still face issues. Is this something that needs further investigation or is it fixed 100%?

  • "Escape should now always prevent disengagement attacks."

Absolutely false, just tested and it is still a broken and useless talent like before. Will we ever see a definitive workaround or just announcements?

Can anyone in the beta program comment on whether or not confused allies/enemies still flip allegiances for targeting purposes (it could have been one of the minor, unlisted fixes)?

Because if they do, then in my mind all the wizard foe-only targeting changes are nerfs. (As I mentioned on the patch notes comment thread itself, my favorite thing to do is to drop non-foe AoE spells--like Freezing Pillar--on confused enemies and watch them die.)

EDIT: though maybe I'm alone in thinking that the wizard actually generally did need nerfs rather than buffs (though mostly on the spells that cause confusion/prone)

As I've posted elsewhere, as of build 563 the animal companion bug still exists almost without change for me. Stat sheet still showing massively boosted damage, Marked Prey still allowing pets to hit for 200+ dmg

hey, I saw some mention of custom sound sets for the player hired characters so they can be reset. It might be immersion breaking, but it would be great to have a voice set like Durrance as one of the voice sets. The normal ones are not very good, and his is at least unique enough it stands out. Especially his laugh when he crits.

1.0.5 notes say Grieving Mother's Perception and Intellect scores have been switched

This is not retrospective right? Could it be coded to be so? In my saves she is still Per 17 (Base) Int 12 (Base). Couldn't this be fixed when a save is read?

In 1.0.5.0563 the armor stats for DR are still missing when you look at armor details (introduced in the first 1.0.5 beta), I understand this has been reported though and hope it will be included in 1.0.5 release. It's quite awkward to compare armors at the moment.

All the UI bugs I reported have been fixed in the latest beta.

On the whole though 1.05 looks nice, lots of necessary features and fixes added.
