  2. I completed Sons of Forest after about 55 hours, it was an excellent survival game with somethings better than Forest 1 and some things worse What was worse than 1 is I found myself not having to build a single house or structure to survive, I just used the tent And then I love and appreciate no hand holding and having to explore to progress the narrative but this game forced me to consult game guides about what caves you suppose to explore first to find critical items like the spade, I find it almost impossible to believe that anyone can finish this game without dozens of hours of exploring just to work out what to do next? Its too "hard" around trying to work out where you suppose to go next Once you find laptops then its obvious where you must go but finding items like the pick axe and then the ancient armour werent clear to me and I randomly found them. Maybe I missed some papers or documents? But good game overall and it gets a 70/100 on the globally respected " BruceVC game rating system " and if you want an incredibly difficult survival game to play, without getting tips, this is for you

  4. dark forest enthusiast if I am not mistaken
  5. I've noticed a lot of weirdness and intermittent ... page loading issues? recently. It is a bit tiresome. I haven't liked the forum software for ages. I mean most of the time it functions, but yeah...it's kind of a mess from a user and QoL standpoint. I still miss the code/uucode/bbcode or whatever it was called manual typing reply box mode.
  6. Patron: Got to 3800 population. Was down to 25-30fps overall but still playable. Then I hit Year 65, or 67, or thereabouts. Annnnnd.....apparently there's a mechanic where houses start to fall apart - they get this red icon over each house. You have to click to repair. The problem is there is NO warning they are in need of repair so when your "town" covers the map you may not notice individual houses entering this stage until the "HOUSE HAS COLLAPSED" message (which does not give you any way to "zoom" to area in question, so you are hunting for it). If you are on 10x speed this will all occur very rapidly. I think houses need repair in the order that you initially placed them (time based?) because it started in the first area, so then I felt I had to hover there constantly to catch the icons and repair. But it took 60+ game years for it start, no warning, sandbox mode with "events and disasters" off, I had no idea this was a thing. How stupid. I'm not repairing hundreds maybe more than a thousand houses a few at a time every few minutes, or playing at 1x speed. Back to Caesar 3.
  7. 7 Days to Die is going to leave Early Access this summer after 10 years. Version 1.0! ... and coming to console again! With a higher pricetag ($45)! But they still have a roadmap. And haven't put in those promised bandits yet. Or other stuff like weather and (PC) optimizations. Coming in updates thru and to maybe late 2025. Maybe with some costume DLC. So basically, it's a "gold" Alpha 1.0 release so it can be labeled as a not-early access release to console. I still personally like the game as a goof-around time, but, all I gotta say is: "Bwahahahahaaaaaa!"
  8. ^ Love the slo mo glory walk to that specific song. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is #1 (even if/when I don't care much about the movie overall). I thought he'd retired playing him? Dunno if I'll watch the movie (I still haven't watched Deadpool 2, either) but the trailer is fun.
  9. Its sounds very effective and if you noticing a difference thats all that matters
  10. "Friends" who'll see us as soft, pink, and delicious!
  11. I dont want to oversell it, so lets call it "lite" exercising. I dont go to a gym or have any machines (I do have a workout bench), I just do bodyweight and dumbbell exercises in my own bedroom. With that said, once a day, every single day, I do the following: As many pushups as I can do before I cant get up off the floor. Minimum 20, current max 23 80 crunches (20 top, bottom, r-side, l-side) 20 dumbbell bench with 25lb weight 20 dumbbell butterfly with 25lb weight 40 dumbbell curl with 25lb weight (20 right, left) 40 dumbbell lift with 25lb weight (20 right, left) As you may notice, Im throwing the kitchen sink at myself and my methodology goes against recommendations of working muscle groups on certain days. Like back/biceps one day, chest/triceps the next day...that sort of thing. I just do everything everyday and let my body sort it out. However having exercised 112/114 days so far this year has yielded noticeable improvements in my stamina, physicality and internal health.
  12. From every single note from France stance, I have not seen a single note about French Troops engaging in active combat (for now). Therefore it is to me still similar to West Berlin. And NATO and Russia already fought against each other in through their proxy wars in North Korea, Vietnam and Sahel, and it did not turned into nuclear holocaust.
  13. I don't think so, when it's all opened and bolted together in the case... no returns there other than under warranty if it happens to have manufacturing defects edit: that is, assuming it's the same as "buyers remorse" down here
  14. Since I've bought everything else except the CPU and ram, it's sort what if speculation now anyway
  15. Hahaha! It might be worth reconsidering that, you ought to look at some reviews. AMD is pretty amazing nowadays, while Intel has some issues being power hungry and hot. Gamers Nexus has a pretty decent video from a couple of months ago, with timestamps to save you time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WRF2bDl-u8
  16. I do see a number of differences. In the case of cold war Berlin, the western troops did not actively engage in open warfare with the WP forces and were based in areas acknowledged as western territory by the WP. In modern times, how long would Macron be able sell a war on the home front if it turned into a full scale war with Russia (without Nato backing)? No doubt the initial nationalism would carry it for a while, but once the body bags starts arriving back in the thousands, it may be a hard sell, not dissimilar to the Vietnam war (imho). Is France ready for a "limited" nuclear war and the costs associated with it? Is the rest of Europe ready to die for France's military ambitions?
  17. Oh look, V'ger is till alive and well and broadcasting to anyone who cares to listen to it's messages https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-68881369 Now sending from 24 billion kilometers away, taking 22+ hours for the messages to reach Earth. Who knows, maybe it makes new friends out there some day
  18. Only cpu''s I've been familiar with since the Motorola 68040? Price and overclocking isn't a consideration, so generally in the past, I looked at compatibility and stability (and at some point in the past, years ago, AMD struggled with those, if only for a few years). So I stuck with what I was familiar with. Also why I went for Gigabyte, bad experiences with ASUS, good experiences with Gigabyte, so it's what I go for gravitate towards.
  19. Out of curiosity, why the intel cpu?
  20. Here is a pretty good explanation, what would most likely happen, if some contry would sent their troops to Russia, and why it is not sucha big problem for an average Joe/Jacques/Jaszek. We already had not long ago similar situation with NATO troops in West Berlin, which Russia wanted really bad.
  21. Way to open the door for unrestricted Russian retaliation against said countries. It won't just happen on the Ukrainian battlefield, but at the countries of origin of said troops. If someone sitting in a safe bunker somewhere wants to place bet on Russia not retaliating massively, well good on them, but if I lived in one of said European countries, I would make mental note of nearest cold war era shelter right away. Edit: If into gambling anyway, want to bet Putin is constantly weighing up Nato's participation int he conflict and on a day by day basis decides when the participation has entered the territory of active participation?
  22. BTW, i don't know if should ask here but the relevant threads in this forum are so old now i don't know if bumping them would be considered an act of necromancy. I just want to make sure i understand how attack speed works in this game. I understand there are different aspects to an attack, which is the attack itself, the recovery, some kind of brief idle time between the two, and then if you use guns you got reloading to worry about. From what i understand, all the speed bonuses in the game only affect recovery (i think there's also some that affects reloading time for guns not sure), while dexterity affects ALL of them. I also understand the dexterity bonus is linear, meaning there's no diminishing returns or anything like that. Every point you put in dexterity is just as valuable as the one that came before all the way to however high you can get dexterity in this game. However, i also read somewhere that it's actually possible to drop recovery to zero, thus making the dexterity bonus less effective? Would that come into play when deciding how much dexterity you want on your character from a min/max perspective? Not on a paladin i guess but maybe for a rogue. I also understand accuracy COULD potentially become less valuable if you get it high enough but it would have to be so high as to make the question academic, right? I also remember reading somewhere (God knows where, it was two years ago) that if you keep piling on damage modifiers, the value of accuracy is diminished. I think it was something like that, if you aren't gonna get crits (say, on PoTD, where you would need a very high accuracy), you might as well pile on damage on hits and graces, which seems relevant to the Bleak Walker build Blunderboss devised, with all those lashes, corrodes etc. I understand even on PoTD getting super obsessed about min/maxing isn't necessary, but i find this theorycrafting stuff entertaining on it's own (also, i'm currently in limbo since the patch is coming).
  23. If any NATO member sends their troops to Ukraine outside of NATO mission, then those troops aren't protected by NATO's articles. Same way as their troops in Middle east or Africa etc. aren't protected by NATO's articles. But I am not sure I there is actually any country that actually wants send their troops outside of some grandstanding speeches. Sending old armament from their end of life storages was already difficult political process to do
  24. I was planning to use your dumbest paladin build, too bad to find this has been fixed. So dumping INT still works if I doesn't pick much abilities that's affected by INT, but not as spicy as before. Enduring Flames takes 10 seconds to do full damage is too slow.
